I would completely recommend avoiding this agency, they are slow to respond, have no information ready at hand and this has possibly been the most annoying process of purchasing a property with them. There was a lot of missing information that I was not provided and they basically only know how to respond when they need something. You will call them and they say they'll get back to you and just disappear. Avoid if possible.

We are in the process of buying a bungalow at the moment and the sales progression team told us the vendor had been to sort the electrics and service the boiler..previous tennants had apparently got in debt so electric was cut off..Hunters lied saying this would be sorted. A second viewing 2 weeks later and a wasted 120 mile journey confirmed nothing had been sorted. When we told them we were disappointed with them we were told to leave the property.

GoogleUnfortunately Hunters did not handle the sale of our house. However, they marketed our sellers’ house as well as our buyer’s. As a consequence, they helped us to secure a shorter chain. Their due diligence was outstanding. They kept in touch with throughout the process and provided helpful advice when needed. If only the agent who was paid to handle the sale had been half as good. Thank you to Caroline, the very hands-on director, for all she and her team did to make our chain work in quick time.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

GoogleWe cannot recommend Hunters enough! We saw a property we loved in July and told Caroline and the team (from the Leighton Buzzard branch) it was our ‘forever home’. A couple of days later our house was on the market and on our first viewing we had an offer on our property. Fast forward 12 weeks and we have now moved into the house that we love! All the staff at Hunters are extremely efficient and friendly and understand your needs and wishes. We would highly recommend Hunters to any friends or family or anyone that wants to move. 5 stars all round!

Agent Harj was full of fake promises. Although he was all smiles and seemed friendly, the minute we left after our viewing he didn’t return texts or calls and shyed away from any contact. After several calls to the agents I finally managed to find out myself that the property had been given to someone else, rather than them calling me to inform me I had to dig this information out of them which was frustrating. Avoid!

Contacted this agency regarding a view of 3-bedroom house. The advertisement contained no restrictions regarding families with children. During the phone call, the first question asked was whether we have children. Once this was confirmed, we were immediately refused solely on that basis. I asked several times why this restriction was not stated in the advertisement, but I received no explanation or answer. Refusing access to rented accommodation because a family has children constitutes unlawful discrimination under the Equality Act 2010. Letting agents are legally required to comply with this legislation, regardless of landlord preference. This experience raises serious concerns about the agency’s compliance with UK equality law. I am sharing this publicly so other families are aware.

I have been trying to contact them for 4 months in regards to my flat and contract but they are absolutely appalling at responses and making things clear and helpful for those they are letting to. They have sent me in so many different directions on who to contact and have stopped responding to me within one week of me first contacting them. On top of this it took them weeks to respond and report to maintenance issues, and when they did the response I got was rude and abrupt. As well as that they issues weren't resolved fully resulting in me feeling uneasy in what was meant to be my own space. Absolutely awful service and wouldn't even consider letting/renting from them again.

Pathetic estate agency! The guy who is showing properties mixing up addresses and you end up viewing a different one. If you make an offer they show a very keen interest in person then no-one ever comes back to you. The property owners will never get to find out who made offers and they may just losing out on perfectly good tenants…!They do not even talk to each other within the office to relay interest.You get a bunch of promise, but that is all!Laura is useless!

Very unprofessional and rude agents. They repeatedly called me while I was at work, and when I finally got back to them, they booked a viewing for the next day and told me to meet outside the property at the scheduled time. When I arrived and called their office, they initially lied, saying they would sort it out and call me back. After waiting 20 minutes with no update, I called again, only for them to blame me for going without having received an email confirmation, instead of acknowledging that their agent cancelled the appointment without notifying me. Overall, very unprofessional.

Appalling group of folks! This group has no idea what they are doing. we worked with Selina and she was absolutely clueless and brought wrong/unverified information to the table. If I were looking to rent, I would be running as far as possible from this agency or owners they work with! if there were minus points that is what I would give them for ripping a kid off!

Misrepresentation, poor service, property management and unlawful practice Unlawful terms in the tenancy agreements, do not uphold their mutual terms as the agent, assume consent to access outside of tenants availability and threaten to break in unlawfully. Have done repairs in house that have caused injury and condition of rental has damaged tenant belongings, mould not disclosed, just covered up to blame tenant later when we leave, constantly asking for access and putting employment at risk but accuse tenant of breach when asked for compensation as in the tenancy agreement . Barely manage property unless theyve been reminded something important has expired. Estate agent happy to make threats to break and enter without legal knowledge, on behalf of a company that is owned by another agent that is well known for illegal practice, unsure if landlords know the legality of the contracts they've signed with Hunters without knowing and checking whether the terms are legal and lawful. Convinced they will be attempting to take money from the deposit as a form of ponzy scheme that pays for more unsafe repairs in propertys, check your doors, lights bulbs and curtain rails dont fall on your child's head, and if the property sets on fire Hunters will deny any accountability, so I doubt they will have integrity in the case of death and if you lose your job because of them they'll kick you out after breaking in (illegally) to make it possible to kick you out. Staff cant cope with reading lots of words in a row, so they don't acknowledge or respond to complaint and the staff will reframe anything you say or do in their favour anyway. Eve's review confirms our experience, its almost the same. They will evict if you ask them to ensure your home is safe and to uphold their mutual terms of the tenancy, they do not follow the eviction to repossession procedure lawfully and expect you to agree to hand the keys back by the notice period they decide at random without serving recorded notice and further violating access law. Using commercial laws for residential properties hoping noone will notice and they will not be accountable when the landlord is in court at their own expense.

GoogleMy wife and I would have no hesitation in rocomending Hunters, what separates hunters from others in my opinion are it’s people, we had a couple of false starts with our sale falling through twice, (no fault of Hunters), very very stressful time!, what made the difference was the focus on communication, keeping us informed at every stage even when there was no further news, I only wish our purchase was handled by Hunters, that was a very different experience! Their viewing process of delivering feedback after each viewing was great, once sold, the team helped us through to exchange and completion and were always on hand to support when needed. Absolute s#*t show, appalling service, went to view property on rossall promenade offered to put 6 months up front (not that i needed too) then never heard anything back, worse company i have ever dealt with in property, to not even get back to you, how unprofessional, to add more insult i seen property listed on Monday night contacted them 1st thing Tuesday to be told i have to wait for others to show interest before i can view appalling service STAY WELL CLEAR if one person avoids this company my review was worse while NEVER AGAIN!!!!

so bad discriminated by this company when I went for a view in the person told me to go and jump over bridge and kill myself because I don't deserve to be alive because I'm autistic did not even investigate they didn't do nothing to switch it on the look of like nothing happened and didn't want to do nothing tell someone to go and kill herself what do they gonna do nothing about it and he was sitting there laughing like it was a joke and then just sitting there thinking it's funny and they say gone going to it and make us all very happy that we don't have to deal with another autistic personthis is why I'm going for four legal action and I'm going to go for criminal charges against them

Given that the purpose of an estate agent is to bring sellers and buyers together, as a potential buyer I found Hunters service abysmal I tried to make a viewing appointment for a property they had for sale. They said they would phone or email me. Nothing. Tried again two days later. Person I spoke to seemed surprised at what had happened and said would get back to me. Nothing. Were I to be selling a property, I would not be using this estate agency. Perhaps they only do it as a hobby.

Make no mistake they aren't worthy of even one star! This Hunters franchise (Sea Road Sunderland) and their so called MD Chris Kelly and his team failed to carry our property inspections and investigate complaints from neighbours in relation to the neglect and horrendous decline of my property over a three year period. We as landlords put our faith in the letting agent and trust they will do a good job in managing our properties. I'm now £7k down trying to repair the property to a good standard. The failure of this company to manage the property and the tenants has left me significantly disadvantaged. Mr Kelly has not responded to my many complaints and requests for compensation and has instead left the franchise, no doubt to make another fortune charging 15% off the back of other unsuspecting landlords! Hunters are a company well known and trusted in our area but be warned, these agents are hiding behind that brand and are able to operate without scrutiny or regulation!!

Are the staff in the Highfield Road office volunteers on some sort of day release programme ? I can only presume so because no company management in their right mind would pay them to do NOTHING, my 3 messages to request a viewing fell on deaf ears, yet it is still available for rent, appalling behaviour, does the owner of the rental know who they have looking after their property, in this case they soon will, Land Registry gave me the owners details and I am in the process of asking the owner directly for a viewing appointment as their "representatives" are awol.

Very bad customer service. I requested for a viewing and the agent texted me over WhatsApp about the viewing times and said viewing can be done only on weekends and evenings. No other estate agents texted me over WhatsApp and others called me directly when I made a inquiry and even scheduled my viewing appointment according to my preference but this agency seemed not so interested in selling the property or whatever. Next thing when he finally had a suitable time for my viewing, I had to cancel the viewing because my car was in the garage and they said it was not ready for collection so I called the estate agent to inform him about it and this guy was so rude. He didnt even say bye and just hung up. Very disappointed.

GoogleWe did not use to sell our property but bought a property represented by Hunters. We found they could be difficult to get hold of over the phone on occasion, but they did try to help when we managed to get through and responded fairly quickly to queries. They have been helpful post purchase to liaise with the sellers on a few queries. Bad experience with key handover, were told they would meet us at the property but no one was there, when we called them to check what was happening, we were told they were short staffed and we would have to collect the keys from them (30min round trip plus the initial waiting around) delayed our movers and cost us nearly £300 in extra moving fees as a result. Not overly impressed. In addition we were offered a £50 voucher if we left a good review, which seems unnecessary to me if you are doing a good job. I would not recommend Hunters.
