We recently exchanged contracts on a transaction. The agent was Alistair Maclean. He was great throughout with chasing all parties to bring the transaction to a successful conclusion. This transaction involved a slow management company and Alistair assisted in chasing until we received all required responses.

GoogleI had my house on the market for 3 months with another local estate agent before instructing Dexters. Prior to using Dexters my agent lacked communication and produced very few viewings. It was a breath of fresh air when they lined up a consistent number of viewings weekly and always fed back to me. They found me a buyer within 5 weeks and were always on top of things keeping me updated throughout the legal process. Dexters are definitely an agent I would recommend.

We are a current tenant and have raised multiple issues with the landlord however Dexters continually give us messages that they are following up on the issue but no correspondence from there on. Issues like a broken fridge took more than 2 weeks to be sorted and we have outstanding issues that have been "followed on" for months.Dexters have shown they will align themselves with the landlord and not the tenant.

When leaving a joint tenancy, all parties spoke to Dexters, agreed everything and notice was handed in. 3 months later went back on explicit guidance to try to extract additional charges from both tenant and landlord. Staff member was unhelpful and lied about past advice given. Do not recommend working with this company.

GoogleAfter doing an enquiry through Rightmove I have been contacted by Dexters from different brunches. My enquiry was very specific and clear: moving date flexible, cat friendly property and maximum budget of 1,250.00pcm. A consultant from Dexters in Vahuxall contacted me offering me to view a property advertised at the monthly price of £1,500.00 and with no restriction for the cat. When I raised the issue with the price, the consultant said that a lower offer was possible, so my boyfriend and me spent 1h and 30minutes to go and view the property. The landlord was there and he didn’t know anything about our cat and he clearly said that he advertised with the clause of ‘no pet, no children’. At the end of our visit, the landlord offered us the opportunity of taking the cat because he recognise both of us as good tenants. We than decided to make the offer, higher than the initial budget we fixed. I did not hear back from the consultant via email. We have just spoken on the phone and she just told me that the price was too low and that they received a better offer (over the asking price and so we supposed to do). She wanted to force me to increase the rental offer and to ask for a contract of 3 years (with the clause of keeping paying the rent + 11% of one off payment of the remaining months + £60 each whenever we decided to leave early if any very bad circumstances will occurred over our control, eg. Harassments, mould/infestation, any major issue). At the end, we fully waste our Saturday morning on viewing a property over our budget and being in contact with a consultant that was only interested on increase our monthly budget.

GoogleMy friend and I were looking for a flat to move in ASAP, so we called Dexters and they arranged a viewing for the next day -- we took the flat right away, the whole process took less than a week, fantastic service! We were in contact with Jack Cooke, who was very helpful and making sure that we are satisfied with everything. Despite the flat being not in its best condition, at the time of our contract signing (needed some painting; we were told that it will be fixed), Dexters renovated the entire place in less than one week, which made the flat that we took look completely new (they changed the floors, painted it, changed the wardrobes, beds etc.).
