The Kirkcaldy Office were absolutely shocking at handling our mum's Estate after her death in April 2021. I accept there were unusual circumstances concerning one of my siblings but the lack of keeping us up to date with what was being done resulted in my siblings and I losing £5k to the final bill!! The Solicitor handling our mum's Estate apparently left in January 2023 but we were not informed of this until 3 months later. My sister received an email June/July 2023 to say there was £5k in mum's account and was it okay to distribute this between us? My sister replied yes but wanted to make sure about the final bill, didn't hear a word for 2wks then the Manager emailed asking for confirmation that it was okay to distribute the money, my sister told her that she had replied to the email 2wks earlier. The next day my sister received an email to say actually we wouldn't be receiving any of the £5k as there was an outstanding balance that was just over £5k but because they hadn't spotted this they said the £5k would cover it!! To date my sister still hasn't received the ITEMISED BILL.

The Boyd team has been utterly incompetent, repeatedly making mistakes, even with critical legal documents submitted to the courts. Instead of taking responsibility, they advised us to stay silent. Their fees are outrageously high for the shockingly poor quality of work they deliver.

I was put in touch with Boyd Legal through Maggie's Fife Centre to have a Will and Ower of Attorney drawn up. Due to health reasons I was unable to meet at their offices in person so they arranged a video call. I would highly recommend Boyd Legal, any staff I spoke to was professional & polite, I was impressed by how quickly everything was done, a home visit was arranged for me to sign the documents due to my health problems. Thank you very much Boyd Legal for all your help.
