I moved in to a new property and received the inventory. The inventory had the hoover in it and the hoover was broken. I contacted George at Dexters and he sort the issue immediately in a very smoothly way. Thanks George for sort this out so quick.

I have used this estate agent incompetent stafffor…

I have used this estate agent for letting my property for nearly 4 years. For the first three years, I couldn’t fault them, but the staff have Changed hands and I would not recommend them. The majority of staff are incompetent they make so many mistakes and their Fees are high. I did complain to the director and it was a waste of my time. My last tenancy agreement they failed to put in a break clause and I’m now unable to break free of them unless I give them vast amounts of money. Although I have to ride this out, I will not be using them again in the future. I do not recommend them.

Issues with marketing letters

EDIT: I have received a swift resolution to the below issue and so I have amended my review accordingly. Since reaching out to Dexters (which was lovely and helpful) I have since been bombarded by sales post. I asked to be removed from the list and yet the letters keep coming. It's roughly one a fortnight. The latest letter contains inaccurate information about my property being for sale which it is not, with an agent I've never spoken to and at a price its never been listed at. Having already tried to speak directly to them, I'm now feeling ignored and frustrated that I keep having my time wasted.

Terrible experience

The house was handed over to us in disastrous conditions regarding dirt, garbage left by the previous tenants that was never taken away, humidity on the walls, and a bad smell. After several emails completely ignored by the agency, we had to spend our own money to restore the premises to a livable condition (additional professional cleaning and purchase of a dehumidifier).During the rental period, we suffered a water leak that flooded the house. Dexter left us in these conditions for almost a month because, according to them, it was not their responsibility. When we left the house 2 months before the end of the contract out of desperation, the agency, at the end of the rental period, asked to withhold a huge amount from the deposit, accusing us of leaving the house dirty and damaged. Despite the physical and moral damages we suffered, we still cleaned the house before leaving. In conclusion, I highly recommend staying away from such people who, in addition to being unprofessional, unavailable when it comes to their responsibilities, and greedy, only care about the customer when they have to sell, abandoning them immediately after to face problems alone and only making themselves heard to collect payments.

Horrible. Been a tenant in their property for 4 years. Came to us moving out and they tried to deduct a significant amount for a professional clean, which we already had done when we moved out. When I sent the invoice of the clean and asked why we were being charged I was told by an agent the inspection was by a third party service and was OTT so they’ll have a look at it again. Bearing in mind, when we moved in the place was in an unhygienic state and when we requested for it to be cleaned, it took 3 weeks for them to get someone out. As no one was going to live in squalor for almost a month, we had done the majority of the cleaning already. I was told to remove a few of my things I left behind, which is fair enough, but also remove the landlord’s furniture which he for some reason forgot he owned, and if we did, it would be a negotiation point for getting our whole deposit back. For years we’ve had issues not looked at, not replied to, not had anyone come to see. Wet marks and mild mould, a fire due to the filter in the cooker hood not being changed when we moved in (?????) and a number of other things. It’s going to be about 6 weeks since we moved out that we get our deposit back. The only reason we didn’t take this further legally is because we just want to be done with them. Absolutely appalling.

Incompetence writ large

We were recommended to use an agent that had been taken over by Dexter's. Since engaging Dexter's Finchely to let our property we have had numerous issues namely; 35% of monthly payments have been incorrect, over charges on agreed management fees and unauthorized letting board.On every occasion it has taken us to highlight the errors before they were rectified despite repeated (hollow) assurances that the Company highly values it's relationships. Avoid these cowboys at all costs.
