The worst experience with a real estate agent in my life.Secured a tenant with a previous detention/penal past without checking the background. The tenant had constant and absurd requests that were not properly managed. Left before the end of the contract and then sued me as a landlord. Chestertons refused to take any responsibility and left me alone with hefty legal costs

Horrible experience with Chestertons while renting - none of the contractually agreed works were done (they managed the place so it was their responsibility), staff could not care less and just ignored our dozens of emails or claimed they had already done everything (despite dated photos each time of the damages). We ended out cutting our losses, moving out, and were forced to pay a penalty despite Chestertons being on the wrong side of the law. To anyone considering renting or buying from them - just get a good solicitor - you will likely need them when things predictably go South with this company.Response to Chestertons: Thank you. The proposed “solution” is basically us moving out at our own cost, to not have to deal any longer with anyone in this company and because the issues that were supposed to be fixed prior to moving in remained unfixed after 2+months. This “solution” as you call it was accepted out of sheer loss of hope of any proper resolution, after having escalated and after becoming thoroughly convinced that no one in this company cares at all about their customers (only about the online reviews, clearly). The intention of this post is not to initiate a conversation or to hope to get anything resolved - that ship has long sailed. We just hope to warn other potential customers and save them the horrible experience we have had. As it is evident from the many, many 1-star reviews here, the Chestertons property management is an absolute horror show - both from the landlords and tenants POV - and it is quite surprising it operates legally in the UK.
