YellAvoid Amery Scott
Agree with all of the other reviews: Rodney was rude, condescending, sexist and a little racist. On the rare occasion we managed to get in touch with him about an issue with the flat, he would interrupt and talk over us. He treated both me and my flatmate like incompetent children and tried to blame us for issues that were out of our control. When he arranged for people to come and fix various issues, he invariably told us the wrong times and days which was disruptive and stressful.

GoogleTerrible communication, unprofessional, and untrustworthy. I enquired about a flat to let the day the ad went online. I explained that as I lived abroad it would be a friend who would do the visit for me and I was told there was no problem with that, to note however that the woman on the phone immediately asked why I was calling from a foreign number which was odd and rudely toned. A couple of days after, somebody called my friend and said they don’t accept viewings if you are not the prospective tenant, so I called back to clarify this as I was told the opposite. I was told they would send the message up to their manager and they’d call me back. The next day, having not heard anything back, I call to get some further information and was told the flat had already been let. I understand the market is extremely competitive in London, however I had called on the day the ad was posted. I suspect this agency has an issue with foreigners which is extremely problematic. Very unprofessional and shameful.

YellAvoid at all costs!
Re-posting this review as it was originally deleted - presumably by the company... We rented a property under this company for two years and would recommend that you avoid them at all costs. We were rarely able to get in contact with Rodney, his phone would be turned off after 6 and at weekends and we were never provided with an emergency contact despite our insistence that we needed one. We had many problems over the two years which we mostly had to deal with ourselves due to the ignorance of the company who showed little to no concern for tenants. On the few occasions that we were able to contact Rodney, he was often rude and unfortunately sexist asking to 'speak to our parents' despite us all being young professionals in our mid-twenties and on one occasion even called my flatmate a 'silly cow'.We couldn't be happier to be out of the flat and away from this company - avoid them at all costs!!!

YellI had money but they didn't seem to want it
As a typical renter in London - desperate to keep up my self-image by living somewhere trendy, willing to put up with a hole in the ground if it means I have an easy commute, and with slightly more money than common sense - imagine my glee when I spotted a tiny one-bedroom top floor flat within walking distance of Clapham Common, available through Amery Scott. And for only £1360 per month. Here, at last, was my chance to sit on a sofa, lie on a bed and even look out of a choice of windows over an actual bit of actual London, while enjoying the thrilling sensation of throwing wads of cash into a dark, bottomless pit. I called the number right away.A week later, Amery Scott had failed to call back despite two reminders, and I was sad. Didn't they want most of my wages? Perhaps they had taken a vow to renounce material things. Or perhaps they are just a disorganised, useless bunch of scammers. I will never know, as I rented a flat off some other people who could use a phone.

YellDisappointing and frustrating
Absolutely shocking service from this letting agent. The main contact would decline all my phone calls and ignore all my emails. When we had wear and tear problems with the flat that required updating he would either ignore requests or try and blame them on us. Also, when we needed tiles replacing I was told ‘that doesn’t effect how you live so it’s not urgent’. When we moved out, he refused to give a reference but did not formally inform me, simply told the reference company and didn’t provide adequate reasoning. Generally terrible service and no concern for tenants. I would advise anyone not to work with them as you will lose money and will have to live with problems in the home longer than necessary.

YellUnprofessional
Awful to deal with as potential tenants. Were shown a property we liked and were told that it was ours if we wanted it. Signed tenancy application form and sent emails to arrange a time to sign the contract, then heard nothing for 2 days. It took me calling the personal number of Rodney, the agent to find out that the contract had been signed by a different group the day before. Waste of time, no communication, had the cheek to suggest that 'we should have acted faster' on the phone.

YellAVOID MR RODNEY WERMIG
If you come across Amery Scott ensure you go through an investigation of Mr Rodney Wermig.Exceptionally rude, no understanding of service and signs of racism. We unfortunately did not conduct a research when we had to book the flat and later on we had to go through several unpleasant situations.Kind regards,Nicolas

YellAVOID AVOID AVOID
Rushed us through the viewing and offered it to us on the spot. When we discovered there were awful problems with the property when getting the keys he laughed and told us it was not his problem. Treated us like children. No offer is worth it.

Yellkeep clear
if there was a way of putting less than 1 star I most definitely would. I’ve lived in London for 5 years now and this is most definitely the worse agency I’ve ever worked with. There’s many properties in London and if you find one make sure it’s not with them.

YellUnprofessional Service
From a tenancy point of view, Amery Scott was difficult to reach when requiring assistance. I do not recommend them. I would also be weary to use this company from a Landlords point of view as immediate attention is necessary in certain situations to keep the property in good condition.
