TrustpilotThe worst agency I've ever met
The worst agency I've ever met. I paid £ 300 for booking home and applications I signed a contract but unfortunately the agency wants more information and lots of combinations today the house has been re-exposed. I do not want to add anything tomorrow, I will contact a lawyer because in a way they treat people it is abnormal

TrustpilotPoor service.
Poor service. Non-responsive and Non-responsible staff. We rented a apartment for the last year. The staff changes a lot throughout the year. The agent is not-reachable anymore after handing over the keys. When we claim the deposit, the response pace is slow. they deducted half amount of the deposit with list of items but without proper reason. Avoid at all cost.

TrustpilotAwful organisation
They booked a virtual appointment on the phone and said the call would be at 3:05pm. I then received an email saying the appointment was at 4:05pm. At the end of the day, it didn't matter as they never phoned at either time. When I called the office and explained the situation, the guy said oh the person might be running late with the previous appointment. I suggested I will have the call at 4:30pm, to which he replied "no they will be finished by then for another appointment". Well surely, if you are running late it's not going to matter?!?! Anyway, he booked in for a virtual viewing on Friday only to be emailed on Thursday night to say the property is now reserved. So, essentially down to their complete lack of organisation and unprofessionalism you miss out on viewing a house.

TrustpilotArtificially inflating house prices?
Contacted (Bathgate Office) to arrange viewing of house for sale. Subjected to repeated questions regarding what I would be prepared to offer & actively pressured not to view unless I was willing to commit to offering at least 10% above the asking price & Home report valuation (£170k). While it’s probably not illegal, seems a little like price fixing, it didn’t feel like very good or even honest business practice. Why not advertise as a fixed price (seller clearly knows what they want) or stating only offers in excess of £187k or in the region of £190k will be considered. Then again a home report valuation of £170k will possibly torpedo any offers. Not a company I would willingly do business with in the future. Caveat emptor!

If there’s a zero score I am going to out here as their service are really poor!! Very rude staff specially Becky Davis!she is a b*%*ch totally b*%*ch! She’s a liar telling that the contractor has been in the property to check last Monday but we were in the property the whole day and nobody showed up! And yet she is still insisting that the contractor was there!LIAR! And this agency will not even help us finding new tenant even though we paid for the breach of contract and delaying the house repair and want us to pay for the monthly rental as they claimed that we are still “liable” with the property. Very poor service!

TrustpilotShould not be allowed to manage...
Should not be allowed to manage people's homes. Having finally (after 7 years) condemning the gas oven and after 2 years condemning the gas fire I am still waiting for an oven a couple of months later. I have recieved none of the promised call backs nor has anyone responded to my emails concerning this or a rent increase issue for over two weeks. I find the staff to be consistently unhelpful, rude and agressive when its something they want, I was recently given a 3 day ultimatum whether to stay or not pending a rent increase and was given incorrect information about the date due.Absolutely atrocious service to tenants and I didn't even choose them. Got stuck with them a year into my tenancy and soon after they quietly changed my tenancy to perodic.

Worst agency I have every dealt with in my life. Staff was very unkind - Completely unhelpful, patronising and extremely distasteful. The process was made to be extremely long and difficult - they rush you by giving you unreasonable deadlines to submit information and blame you for not completing certain tasks however it’s complete double standard as when you try and contact the relevant person they are extremely difficult to get a hold of. Martin and co really needs new management. Put me through complete distress. Advice - avoid!

TrustpilotI do not recommend Martin and Co…
I do not recommend Martin and Co letting agent as they are not customer centric and do not understand the tenant requirements. The lift was not working whilst shifting and I mentioned about the delay to vacate and the Letting agent director Jagadish asks we have provided a full furnished house what else you need to vacate. They dont understand customer sentiments. I had reported a water leakage issue and it took 2 months to resolve it.! Not a great experience and I wont recommend them.

TrustpilotJust awful
My interactions with Martin & Co have been among some of the worst experiences I’ve had, not just with letting agents, but with other human beings. They really do not care about their tenants and make no secret of it. Do better.

TrustpilotDisgruntled
Everytime I enquire a property they send a link for me to be able to get a viewing slot and I've clicked on that link a number of times only to get the notification that I can't get a viewing slot at the end.Today I called in the morning and was told to wait for them to call me back but up to now they haven't called back

TrustpilotProfessional, polite and speedy
I sold a flat in Oxford through Martin & Co and had an excellent experience. The flat was marketed well, with good photos and a 3D tour, and sold within 7-10 days of listing. They were professional from start to finish with close communication throughout. They would promptly call to provide feedback on viewings and were impeccably polite in their dealings with me. My main point of contact was Conor from the Thame branch. I wish all estate agents are good as Conor. I fully recommend Martin & Co if you are looking to sell your property.

TrustpilotBullying lies and attempted suicide
I think my previous review was removed. Brighton branch, unprincipled, dishonest bullies. Their lies and disgusting statements - in the hope they could preserve some reputation is a scandal. They were part of the reason why I tried to commit suicide. I have a case going to Court - they will be called to expain their behaviour.AVOID

TrustpilotThey couldn't care less as long as they get rent…
Terrible estate agents kept emailing me saying that they were getting my roof fixed along with other things but nobody ever showed up. It still going on over a year later. As long as the money is going in every month that is fine. They even tried to charge me for a call out for a broken fridge/freezer because the engineer couldn't find a fault, the item is still broken. Avoid a headache with these estate agents because if you have a problem when renting they really don't care.

TrustpilotThe worst and most dishonest agent ever
If I could give zero or minus I would ,they are lying conmen their property management is non existent they never answer the phone ,I believe it is their plan to let you fix the problem from your own pocket ,I had numerous water leaks and no one from Martin and co arrived to inspect the damage ,there was damp in the main bedrooon which was not addressed causing me to catch pneumonia ,throughout my entire tenancy Martin and co did nothing I fact the water damage is still there and now they are trying to use that as a reason not to return my deposit ,remember if rob hall says something you can guarantee it will be a lie ,he is the most dishonest agent I have ever come across ,if you rent from them then don’t be surprised if you find yourself in my position

TrustpilotTenants - Caution and patience is advised
For Landlords I am sure they are great. If you are a tenant, they are the poster child of letting agents. My advice is document, document, document and document properly. After every phone call, write up an email to them, you'll need it.Don't waive anything in the inventory. Assume, that they will use anything you say, or don't object to, against you.In my case they used about 3 year old pictures in the inventory document and because I had an agreement with the previous tenants that they keep some furniture there, I waived it as a convenience. A year later, when I was moving out, they were not even open for discussion "you signed the inventory, that was the state". It went to DPS arbitrage for deposit. Their claim was ~640 pounds, thanks to videos and other evidence the end amount was ~130 pounds. One maintenance issue required the contractor to come 3 times. After a leaking boiler was reporter, the contractor says it was a goner because of rust (I was on my way out, so I did not care anymore). I got a message from the next tenant about 3 months later, if I knew anything about the boiler, as they did not have hot water for a week. Martin&Co says, that hot water is not an urgent matter....in November. I am sure they will object to this review, if interested, I can share the DPS resolution and entire email conversations.2 stars. because they eventually resolve issues eventually, so it is not "the worst company ever".

TrustpilotLow Grade Company
I am shocked that Martin & Co have been rated as 2 out of 5 and it must be they have cheated the system to gain 2 stars. Never come across such a rubbish company and if you ever want rented accommodation AVOID at all costs. They will take your money do nothing to manage repairs and will keep your deposit. They provided accommodation in extremely poor quality and expected it returned in immaculate condition. If I had the time on my hands I would take them to court and win. They are the worst company i have ever had to deal with

Nothing but problems when renting through them years ago. Thought I'd give them another chance, booked a viewing and they didn't turn up. After waiting 15 minutes from the specified time I called them and they had rented the property out but not bothered to let me know. Very frustrating especially when taking time out of work for a viewing.Avoid at all costs

GoogleBeing experienced in property management but novices in the tenant search and letting process we appointed Martin & Co in Ipswich to undertake that part of our lettings.
They instantly grasped the markets suitable for each of our properties and marketed them perfectly to attract the ideal prospective tenant respectively.
Following strict vetting and credit checks Martin & Co found tenants for both our flats that we felt extremely comfortable renting to in super quick time.
The service was slick, professional yet friendly throughout the entire process and we won't hesitate to use their services again down the line.

TrustpilotIt’s worsts company ever
It’s worsts company ever. They just tried to take all of your deposit for useless things. When I was living in the their house I called and mailed them many times for the issues in the house but they never ever tried to fixed the issue. But when I moved the house they tried to put the problems I told them on me. If you thinking to find house with company don’t because they not helpful and they just tried to take your money.
