GoogleWant to say a big thank you to Meg who has been helping with my tenancy and move into mine and my children’s new property. It’s has been very smooth transition and if I’ve needed any help or advice they have helped me. Would recommend Haller Evans to any one. Thankyou again

Facebook671 HOTHAM ROAD SOUTH!!!!
Do not even deserve one star. Nothing but problems. When we first moved into the property -
• There was masses and masses of rubbish piled in the garden including asbestos which was never removed so eventually we had to remove ourselves
• A blown window in the back bedroom which has still til this day not been done
• No toilet seat on the downstairs toilet (there was never one put on we had to do it ourselves)
• Ivy climbing up our neighbours window covering all the back of her house (she can not even open her window) this was reported from her before we moved in and nothing was done and still hasn’t been done
• There was a kitchen cupboard still full of items from the previous tenants which should’ve been looked over before us moving in
• We did not even have a door from our living room to kitchen (fire hazard) when we first moved in
• There was no secure fencing/security at the back of the garden just bushes
7 days after living there we had water raining from our bedroom ceiling, a roof replacement was done, there was supposed to be insulation put in the loft however this never was. Since having the roof replacement the problems just progressed causing mould all over our bedroom ceiling. We had damp patches in every single external and internal wall in the upstairs of the property. We was made aware the previous tenants had this issue, so why was this not resolved before we moved into the property. We were told the roofers would come down and see what the issue was however never did. Environmental health came round to inspect and served them 1 day to clean and treat the mould. They have since tried to rectify the issues however now is too late. We asked for a rent reduction when the issues very first started however nobody ever got back to us. We have paid thousands to live in a house potentially causing damage to our health. Sleeping in a room that is raining from the ceiling and mould/damp everywhere and paying £525 a month for it. Absolutely disgusting. Megan herself admitted the only reason they have began to try fix the issues is because they have been served notice from hull city council, nothing was done beforehand. When they were made aware of the inspection they began trying to gain access to the property to get someone round to fix the issues beforehand. We were also made aware by the previous tenants that they also had the issues with damp mould and the roof leak therefore they were clearly aware about it before we moved in. The property is now also back up for rent as was uploaded before even receiving the keys from us. I do not for one minute believe any of the work will be carried out before the next tenants move in and unfortunately have to deal with what we have had to. Do not rent off haller evans.

Google"My brother and I engaged this no star bunch of crooks to clear out our late mother's flat. On the basis of time taken for clearance; and weight of items (to be) removed. For auction sale.
Hence no rubbish for tip disposal.
Six of the clearance items all of good saleable condition were misappropriated. and not present at the auction. When questioned HE duplicitously referred to verbal statements made, regarding disposal of sub-standard items.
However auctioned e.g. hall umbrella stand and other low value items of ours. Their 16 July 2021 auction had endless boxes of miscellaneous low grade bric a brac; some of which was in the category of of 'tat'. We witnessed.
The auctioneer neglected to duly pre advertise a 1930s oak book case bureau; which consequently received no bids... But was saved from disposal (allegedly) and made available for our collection - not re-auctioned...
Haller Evans mixed some of our bric a brac items in with other, miscellaneous lots. To our obvious financial detriment.
They sold a crystal lustre vase for £25. But accepted return unwanted by the winning bidder. Try doing that on Ebay...
When questioned the auctioneer (Richard Lancaster) stated that HE had decided to withdraw it as he considered it should have sold for more. But dictated we collect this, and the oak bookcase bureau and remove from their premises.
The auctioneer sold some items for paltry bid sums; but did not similarly withdraw them, as worth; more according to the same criteria of judgement.
E.G. Zannusi washer / dryer for £5. 2008, 32" LED TV for £5. Umbrella stand for £2.
In spite of written representations to HE we have neither been paid for the stolen items; nor had them returned to us.
We have been fed false witness as to fact and truth. Otherwise recieved no response to specific points of query.
The evidence is that Haller Evans deliberately misappropriated the said missing items, in order to unethically profit from their resale, at our expense. Claiming that these were of too low value to be salable; and had been disposed of.
The auctioneer backed up by the proprietor, claimed by way of obfuscation, and equivocation that he had acted entirely properly, and professionally throughout. But, was proven to (have been) an accessory before, and after the fact...
However, managed to lose the plot during the auction sale, in regards to losing continuity of lot numbers. With one lot number confused with another. Somewhat farcically. It was witnessed.
This crookedness, and criminality took place under the control of proprietor Elizabeth Haller.
Matter was referred to 'FRICS'. But who acted apparently corruptly, and complicitiously; in neglecting to take appropriate enforcement disciplinary action - disclaiming responsibilty for taking appropriate action against it's member company. On grounds of matter involving auction clearance aspect of company operation.
Caveat Emptor, this could happen to you, if you enter into dealings with Haller Evans..." Either as house clearance auctioneers; surveyors; or as valuers, or, estate agents.

GoogleI have rented from Haller Evans twice now and I would recommend them to anyone. Their business is run with a high standard of professionalism but at the same time the staff are extremely friendly and you always feel that they have genuine concern for you as a tenant. They are forthcoming with any issues or repairs and they take the stress out of renting. You know that whatever happens, they will take care of you. I feel very secure as a Haller Evans tenant. Thank you Megan and Liz

GoogleHad a very overfilled house to clear two weeks ago. To us, it looked a nightmare with cupboards and wardrobes filled to the doors with possessions and furniture almost out the doors. Richard and his team did an absolute miracle in clearing the place including the outhouses. They truly deserve all five stars.

GoogleThe worse landlords imaginable.
My daughter and her partner let their first house through Haller Evans Hull. The property when they moved in had a catalogue of problems. Rubbish promised to be moved from the previous tenants was still left there months later despite many requests. this included abstestos in the garden. Moving in day, no toilet seat, no door from the kitchen into the living room, previous tenants rubbish left in kitchen cupboards, no fencing in the back of the garden making the property insecure, blown window in the bedroom, blocked sink in toilet. Bear in mind this was the first day. Than the real problems started. The roof was leaking into the bedroom, damp started to appear on external walls and internal walls. The roof was eventually replaced but the problems persisted further, water streaming down the walls, more damp appearing, mould in the bedroom, damp patches appearing all over the place. The problems where continually reported to Haller Evans but fell if dead ears. From day one we asked for a rent reduction and requests where ignored . The rubbish and abstestos was never removed. Stay well clear of Haller Evans because this company are disgusting the way they left my daughter and partner living. We reported this company to the Environmental Health in Hull and they got served a notice to remove all the mould within 1 day, and to get all the repairs to be done within 6 weeks. While the council did the inspection they also found a leak on the electrics. They where never given a gas certificate for the boiler and gas appliances, and the last one inspection on the boiler shows that when they moved in the gas boiler had not been inspected. The company after asking again for a rent reduction refused it. As a parent I am totally disgusted in the way this company has dealt with two young people starting off in their own two feet in their first home.

We have read your review in detail and some of the comments concern us. We pride ourselves of providing excellent service and, even though we might slip up occasionally, your remarks paint an inaccurate picture of events.
We acknowledge that there were issues regarding a faulty roof, leading to water ingress, and as soon as this became apparent the landlord arranged for it to be replaced. Once completed, Building Regulations Approval was certified by the local authority.
The electrical check undertaken by the Council Officer identified the possibility of current leakage on the electrical circuitry. We provided the council with a copy of the Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) confirming the safety of the system and they have stated that no works are necessary. The comment that there was asbestos in the garden and no Gas Safety Certificate was supplied is simply untrue. It is our standard practice to provide all tenants with a copy of the How to Rent Guide, a Gas Safety Certificate, an EICR and an Energy Performance Certificate. The Environmental Health Officer stated that they were satisfied with the property, its safety and its state of repair.
This is an occasion where we acknowledge that things could have been better, but we have deduced that, ultimately, the objective was to try and obtain a rent reduction or early repayment of the deposit. The selective use of photographs and presentation of inaccurate information supports this conclusion. As stated above, we pride ourselves on excellent service and, thankfully, many landlords and tenants also realise this.
Notwithstanding the above we hope that the move went well, and the new premises provide a comfortable home.

GoogleAfter struggling to find a rental, the process from viewing to signing the lease with Haller Evans was pain free and as smooth as could be. Megan in particular was so helpful and couldn’t ask for a better agent!

GoogleRented with Haller Evans for over a year, to my great enjoyment. Mainly had dealings with Megan but everyone on the team, that I spoke with, from receptionist to the company manager was fantastic.
I have rented with a few Estate Agents but this has been one of the most straightforward and easy to work with companies. Thank you all.

GoogleWe have just started renting (moved in yesterday) with Haller Evans and they have been great throughout the entire process. We got a viewing quickly, liked the property and the application form was easy to fill out. We were emailing with Megan who was always quick and professional responding to our emails and any queries we had. The whole process from asking to view the property to moving in took around 2 weeks.

GoogleUnhelpful company and reluctant to resolve disputes. I kindly paid out for a roof repair in January 2024 for my property and the Haller Evan's property to sort a leak. 11 months later and still no offer to pay half the work. Last update months ago and clearly have ignored me. Really unfair to put the cost all on me.

FacebookDisgrace of a company that in no way offer ‘pride of service’. Liz Haller herself hanging up the phone mid conversation when discussing issues that should’ve been resolved and is through no fault of there own. Absolutely disgusting, to say she is the owner of the company that is a disgrace. Awful mould & damp issues and water leaking from the roof which the previous tenants before us also had to deal with which we were lied to about and told they did not have these issues. Do not use Haller evans 😡

GoogleHaving had some very poor experiences with other estate agents in our home search, we was relieved to have eventually found Haller Evans.
The company's procedures and excellent communication from Haller Evans and their representative Megan ensured that our house search had become less stressful, and successful in finding the house we where looking for.
Very good dealings with this business and highly reccomend.
