Pattinson I have found as a buyer to be an unusually caring family team style business. And calling by at their office and meeting the team and eg Nick who certainly was based here in 2024 it was very cheering for my house hunt. In fact it probably was seminal / really key to my buying a very good buy by their Pattinson's excellent online traditional auction terms, 'when the gavel drops' type way but without the pressures and fears of an auction room, house sales, when I called in to their Hexham office and talked through what I was looking for with Nick. A couple of caring lady staff are or were also in the office team when I called in of the day. Pattinson I have found to be keeping up a top of the estate agencies' order of quality of phone answering staff too in dealing with potential buyers. Nick also gave me an excellent viewing of one of the properties on their books at Haltwhistle at the time . Seeing how he could fit me in for a viewing end of a day. Sadly it is far too rare that estate agents staff as Nick very much did so, seem to enjoy their work in a caring way for those if us who find it very hard indeed to find slots of tine to view with agents 9 to 5 and availability levels these years . .That's how it is but it's not we buyers fault and getting upset with us because we can't make the rare slots they can offer us . And we have a fairly important matter to hand !: this will be our very life corner place in finding any good enough and good house home . So unlike sadly a lot of what the reality is if seeking a house home now 2025 2026... Nick gave me a kind non rushed amicable good kind friendly concerned caring time. The house in question was but the job for me , but it sold bit long after as one would think with a salesmen such as Nick's way he showed to me . So this review is for Pattinson as my top estate agents plus online auctioneers dual business as they run. But also for Nick and the Hexham office as a whole and the good lady boss of it who was very polite and helpful on first contact with them . Avoid at any cost. Don't ever bid if you're looking to buy a house.

I was a first time buyer and they trapped me dus to my lack of experience in buying property. Lie after lie. They made me pay seller's solicitor fee of £3500 which was written at the bottome of the special conditions in very small words. Told me the property will be in a vacant possession but it wasn't as this was another trap just to make me bid on the property. And they are so many things I can't be asked to write as I am so annoyed and frustrated with their service.

Communication Issues?

We were frustrated and disappointed in our tenant find dealings this time as we have been customers of Pattinson's for several years and this has been our worst experience. Progress from prospective tenants viewing the property to actually taking up the tenancy was slow, we were constantly chasing the local office for answers. We also received two incorrect communications from the central office saying the tenancy had started when it obviously hadn't. The individual agents involved were all pleasant and helpful but perhaps more communication between them, the central office and us could have made the experience more positive.

I,d give them 0 starts if i could,I sold parents house i was left at auction and explained i could not get big items from upstairs and needed buyer to make stairs and let be get items inc car keys and escort cabriolet, after completion date told up to owner if lets you get item which he did baby and parents items , car gone edwardian clock old sony tv's gone , did not explain were not mine anymore tying to get back or comp avoid like the plauge daylight robbers

I wanted to participate in an online auction after noticing a property I really liked. When I registered, there were just under four days left until the auction ended. I completed all the forms and waited for approval to start bidding. I’ve been waiting ever since. Now the auction is only a few hours from closing, and I still haven’t received confirmation. Ironically, I did receive a text message from Pattinson reminding me that less than 24 hours remain and urging me to hurry up 😂😂😂. Apparently, I won’t get the chance to take part at all. Very poor service that leaves a rather mixed impression…

EDIT - complete waste of time emailing them as they requested in the reply, apparently it’s my own fault for trusting their complete lie about the solicitor they recommended being a “trusted partner they work with regularly” and any charges over what pattisons quote and issues regarding the performance of the solicitor is not their responsibility, and me being told verbally what fees I’ll be paying and given only the back page of a multi page document to sign and never seeing the actual charges is also my fault and just expected to accept it for next 6 months. Don’t give this theiving lying company the time of day

Terrible

Terrible. Premises rented to my son in such a state of what I can only call neglect to the point of dangerous. At no point have they admitted any sense of responsibility for this or that issues raised were of concern. Beware before renting from them and complete any safety checks yourself including the whole property if taking a flat or studio apartment.

What made my experience great was the patience and kindness shown to me when dealing with the sale of my family home after the death of my mother. FRAUD-They bid on their properties & increase sale price for commissions.

I was bidding on a property when the time finished and I was suppose to be the winner. I obviously won but they didn’t send me a confirmation email saying I won. Everything was there including the legal pack. They made excuses to not let the property go £10k cheaper.ABSOLUTE SCAM. They Control The Website and have people working from home bidding on the sale price so they get their commission. GREEDY BEGGERS.

My sister has just had the most awful experience with a horrible man at this office. She was told she'd got a house and rushed back from holiday to sort it out. Was told very rudely that no she hadn't him and the vendor had let a different man have it. My sister is very ill and the effect of this on her is absolutely unimaginable. What a rude nasty man!

Extortion.

There is no financial incentive for them to sell your home for the best price for you. The £6000 fixed commission puts paid to that whether you sell for 1m or £100. I would carefully consider going down this route before anything else. They managed to organise only two viewings in three weeks with their miserly property investors.Furthermore, they have been misleading in details prior to signing binding contracts, even when I pressed them for assurances at the start. Not good.They managed two viewings in one month. Other agents will get that in one week. But the worst thing we found is the lies and trapping you into commitment. It has been a total waste of time, money, and stress. And they STILL prevent me from selling with another agent because of a clause in the contract you sign!Absolutely disgraceful that this business practice goes on.8th Nov Update- They are asking for 1200 pounds even though they did not sell the house in the auction! They want paying for something that didn't sell! The house is effectively shackled, doing nothing, because I can't seem to get out of an association with them. It's ludicrous.... they aren't making money. I'm not selling anything. I don't know when it will end. What's the point!?Another update- When the agreement ends they send you a 'list' - some 200-300 here... of interested named individuals. (bearing in mind only two people came to view the property, so this could just be an email shot to their clients, not that they are actively interested in purchasing). If anyone on this list expresses interest in your home in the future, even under a different agent you may be liable for costs. Unbelievable. They have you under a barrel. It's all wrong.
