I’ll start by saying, after years of buying and selling my own houses (15 in total), I can’t abide Estate Agents. The bilious Sales patter terminology that pours out of their latest Sales generating meeting mouths! Phone ringing off the hook to put unnecessarily stressful high pressure sales closures on you, robotic insincere (sometimes quite frankly dishonest) interpersonal and communication skills. Once they’ve ‘closed the sale’, they then couldn’t care less about you, as it’s all about the next sale and juicy chunk of commission. Shiny suits and 3 haircuts on one head brigade, or pompous, long in the tooth agents who emit the aura that YOU should feel honoured they are taking your instruction, at their exorbitant fees ...I think I’ve made my feelings clear! HOWEVER (Drum roll)..... There really are exceptions to every rule and Millersons are shockingly the ‘Real Deal’. I have personally dealt with Millersons in Helston on 2/3 transactions now. Highly professional, yet made to feel part of their ‘family’ too...One and All. Our contact is Jamie. What a breadth of fresh air, he has truly broken the dreaded stereotypical Estate Agent mould. Jamie is extremely likeable and personable, has a very gentle manner, is fully understanding and empathetic of our situation, a truly one off GENUINE Sales individual and I don’t say that likely! He has NEVER pressurised us in any way shape or form, he always lets us contact him, thus not bombarding us. He is highly knowledgeable of his product and up to speed with this fast paced and crazy housing market at the moment, but uses his experience to help calmly guide you and not pressurise you. Even their commissions are VERY competitive. He has also sometimes made himself available out of hours and is always an absolute pleasure to deal with, NOTHING is too much trouble. I believe Millersons install this unique ethos from the top, because to be fair every member of staff I’ve had dealings with at Millersons,, has certainly shared some of the above qualities and that is why customers like me will remain loyal to you time after time! Claire and her team went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly, chasing all the chain in both directions, which is much more than most estate agents do ! I was kept informed of progress all the way throughout the process by a very enthusiastic Claire, keeping the stress to a minimum, during a very busy housing market and pandemic lockdown. Last year I put my house on the market, I had a buyer very quickly. but had to withdraw. Jamie was so understanding with no pressure. The whole team in the Helston office are professional yet friendly, always helpful on the telephone. I have now put my rented property on the market. Jamie went through the process in detail to help me make an informed decision, again with no pressure. Communication is excellent, I feel well looked after. Its been a difficult time for everyone, but somehow the Helston office following the strict rules continued in their professional cheerful way. I would thoroughly recommend Millerson Estate Agent especially as they are a local firm. The Letting department also are friendly professional and always ready to help and sort out any problems. Their communication is also excellent. I would recommend letting a property with Millerson.

My wife and I recently sold our home with Millerson, Helston and being an old cottage it wasn't straightforward. We found the staff to be - at all times - every thing we needed. They were very friendly, they had a laugh, they were not only practically, but also emotionally, extremely supportive (we'd lived in our cottage for over 30 years and last moved pre-internet!). They kept us right up to date with developments, they liaised with our solicitor, helped organise surveys etc., were consistently proactive in moving the sale forwards and, without fail, they were always very professional. I cannot say how grateful we are to have been guided and supported by such a small, but amazing, team of people. We cannot recommend Millerson (Helston) highly enough.

After driving 90 minutes to Helston from St Austell to view a new build property, we had barely been in the property for 10 minutes of our allotted viewing timeslot when the agent then started showing another couple around. From experiencing previous estate agents and others whilst buying another house, this team were efficient, friendly, kept me up to date and were just brilliant. Having bought and sold quite a few houses during my life I believe the Millerson team at Helston are what every other estate agent should aspire to be. Prior to finding this property we had looked at at a number of others in the area and had found the responses to our enquiries, with at least three other agents, quite shocking and even disdainful. One agent actually told us they were not able to arrange a viewing for us at any point in the next ten days because they "were too busy" I'm sure the seller would have been delighted. Millerson were totally different the start. From the first viewing the Helston team have been totally professional and a pleasure to deal with. The communication between their team was exceptional and regardless of who we spoke to they were always up to date. At times our purchase didn't run smoothly - our issues not theirs - but at no time did we feel under pressure, or a nuisance to them, and ultimately it was their support and good humour that got us to the finish line when we could have so easily thrown in the towel. Having spoken to the seller since the sale I know that he also feels that he received a great service and, despite the issues we faced, he felt reassured at all times by their team that his sale was secure.
