First of all, I would like to thank Neron. As I was unable to arrange a suitable time to attend the property viewing in person, he kindly took time out of his busy schedule to visit the property and record a clear video of the room for me. This was extremely helpful, as it allowed me to understand the size and condition of the room and decide whether it would be suitable for me, even though I was not able to be there in person. In addition, he was very patient in answering my questions afterwards, including outside normal office hours. I am truly very grateful for his time, effort and professionalism. I would also like to express my thanks to Jayshri. She responded very efficiently in helping to arrange a change to my move-in date, and also assisted in arranging for the key handover to take place at the new property. This has been a great help to me, especially as I will be moving with a certain amount of luggage, and it has made the whole moving process much more convenient for me. I really appreciate her kind assistance and prompt support. Both Neron and Jayshri have been very helpful throughout the process, and I would be grateful if my thanks and appreciation could be passed on to them. Thank you very much.

We had a poor experience dealing with this agency. Communication was unprofessional, and the overall approach lacked the structure and standards you would expect. Unfortunately, interactions with staff - particularly Jayshri, came across as unnecessarily petty and unprofessional. This may be an agency that works for straightforward small residential lets, but based on our experience, it is not one we would recommend for landlords or commercial/company let arrangements where a higher level of professionalism and understanding is required. Overall, not a service we would choose to work with again.

Thank you for your feedback. We do not recognise this as an accurate reflection of our service or team standards. Our role in this matter was clearly defined and did not include providing advisory support. It appears there may have been a misunderstanding regarding the scope of our involvement, which has influenced your expectations. We remain confident in our processes and will review your comments internally.

Excellent experience with Hunters

We had an excellent experience with Hunters from start to finish. Richard, Brenda and Adam were fantastic throughout the entire process - always responsive, easy to contact, and happy to help with any questions we had. Everything ran smoothly with no issues at all, and their professionalism and communication made a potentially stressful process much easier. We would highly recommend Hunters to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

Where do I begin? An abhorrent, abysmal and very crazy experience that lasted all but 5 weeks late last year and was one of the most stressful experiences I have ever gone through and believe me, I have thick resilient skin. After 2 weeks, I was pushed to request the agents sever the contract with immediate effect. Treated very poorly by the agents who in my opinion were quite unprofessional, non-chalant and rude at some instances. To begin, Dinesh was very pleasant in the initial stages when I made an enquiry, quite understanding and made promises about being able to relay any requests that I asked for. I found that when I wanted to take the studio unit off the market, he was dragging his feet with things and was a bit slow. Eventually as people who lack integrity to, he stopped answering my calls or text messages and completely ghosted me. I was also told by him that a nurse previously lived there and that I had another flatmate adjacent to me which was FALSE. The place hadn't been lived in for a while. Even the washing machine was SO dirty and full of mould coupled with a lot of dust. The landlord and his aide lived next door - only knew this when I moved in. I was told how to wrongfully operate the heating system - ended up mistakenly tripping the entire connected heating system. So within the first week I already had the 'landlord' coming into the property to fix things. In the same breath I would go on to be told by Jayshri that "you mustn't contact him for anything". Jayshri tried to maintain some professionalism during some interactions but ultimately, I felt like she really did NOT care, hardly apologised or acknowledged what the landlord was doing. These agents focus on the landlord so much even when they do so wrong. Her manager, Wiktoria who decided to chime in at the end said "I do feel like your request is bit too much and silly". Very high unprofessional and I can't put it down to having a limited vocabulary bank - I was told this because I asked for monetary compensation for my new mat being drench and water damaged due to the washing machine breaking down within 2 weeks. I also had to clean all of this up myself. Lastly, the old landlord trespassed and entered the property wanting to enter the bathroom when I, a lone female, was naked in their makeshift shower room. Needless to say, this was the final straw for me. The landlord kept knocking on my door to 'fix' things but I was told by the agents not to disturb him? Looking back, I do not even think the property is legally being rented. It probably would not pass health and safety regulations. You can see from the photos of how dirty and unkept it was. As agents, you have a legal and moral obligation to ensure you advise the landlords of what to do to make it properly habitable. He refused to deep clean the property, fix the blinds, the electric sockets that were not working and the hole in the ground was hidden with rugs when I came for the viewings. You can see from the photo that the blinds were faulty and see through - how was anyone supposed to sleep properly? I was advised that the landlord said "wasn't she told it was to be given as is? If not, she can fix things herself". I was also still stupidly asked to come all the way back to Harrow to give the keys back which was absurd given that the landlord literally lived next door. Needless to say, I dropped the keys in his hands on my leaving day. Save your money, these guys are a franchise of 'Hunter's' and if you want good quality properties and want courteous and professional customer service, they are not the one to give it to you. After all the stress, health issues and other things I faced due to this ordeal, they are lucky I chose not to pursue further in court. Don't settle from less...look elsewhere.

Diane I thank you for your review and your frustrations are certainly reciprocated. As you are completely aware we work on behalf of the landlord and advise our landlords to provide accommodation in line with current legislation and guidelines. The landlord had the opportunity to clean the property, but is under no obligation to do so, and as you personally viewed the property before moving in, we do not hold anything in writing from you requesting a professional clean. As already stated, we can advise the landlord, but it is their prerogative if they do not wish to have a room professionally cleaned. As you mentioned in your comments about the washing machine, I am afraid white goods can break down. I am sure you have come across an appliance that has stopped working overtime. If your items in a home are of such a value, it would be prudent to have contents in your property insured. Your short time in the property with all the issues you have highlighted I am astounded you didn’t highlight anything when you viewed the property at the outset and stress again sometimes appliances can stop working. To address the staff issues you have highlighted, I am satisfied from all the phone logs and emails from you to the office and vice versa they dealt with you in a professional manner. To suggest a member of staff has limited vocabulary is derogatory and has no substance to your claim, it maybe that you your budget needs to increase in the future so you have a property that doesn’t have issues and assisted by staff who will be within your own competencies.

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters auction. House was listed on website and tenanted for a fixed amount of rent which I was told by the auction agent called Robert. Also house was in bad state but got told tenants don’t care so why do you. Only to find out later on that tenants have never paid anywhere near that amount and it’s so much lower. So was lied to first of all and then later to meet the tenants and for them to tell us all the work they was promised and they wanted the house fixing top to bottom. What an absolute joke and waste of time and money. Keep your money and go elsewhere they will tell you anything just to sell a house that is overpriced

Rude, poor service - a must avoid for renters

Rude, get passed around from pillar to post while they try to ignore your requests or questions. Tried for years to get them to fix things but just continually fell on deaf ears. Now they're trying to claim issues are my fault which are down to shoddy contractors (which they use consistently, including at one point despite having had yearly gas checks, I get told that the previous 6 years hasn't been done properly and the build up that caused a leak was because of this. Everything is everyone's issue but theirs. Renters, avoid at all costs!

Hunters Stanmore are the most unprofessional agents I've had the displeasure of working with. They (Anand Thakar) rented a property to me on behalf of a very dodgy and unprofessional landlord, who they allowed to pretend to be a member of their maintenance team, just so that he could contact me to control how the numerous maintenance issues with the house were dealt with. The landlord (Yusuf Luhar of Rahisi Properties Ltd) also harrassed me with multiple phone calls. There were countless issues, too many to name. There was complete negligence by Hunters who did not do their due diligence on the landlord before renting the property, instead it seemed Anand was attempting to do his friend Yusuf a favour. Would not recommend. Update: Just to add - the agents have stated in their response to this review that I breached the tenancy agreement, which is incorrect. I was served a normal section 21 by the agent Jayshri Somani. Although, I'm not surprised at their attempt to lie in order to cover their name. Me and my tenants we're thrilled to hear about the notice given and gladly vacated the property once they found a new place to live, due to the above negligence and unprofessionalism by Hunters and the landlord. You not being a friend is not important to defend, what is important is your lack of responsibility. Do better.

Victoria · 2 October 2024

Agent replied · 23 October 2024

Victoria, Thank you for your comments and highlighting your experience as a company tenant. You have stated the landlord is a friend. I am afraid you are factually incorrect and have missed the fact that landlords are our clients and not the tenants. Not quite sure how this was confirmed to you but would welcome you backing this up with some context. You were served notice by the landlords rent guarantee insurance policy to vacate, we are told this is due to you breaching the tenancy contractual agreement, and you have now vacated. I can confirm that the landlord has no relationship with Hunters and would welcome a conversation with you to discuss the levels of due diligence we follow as a company before being instructed on a property. I am afraid we do not carry out psychometric tests on landlords but value your comments and understandably the context of your review. Wish you all the best growing your rental portfolio in the future.

Hunters in Stanmore should be more than 5 stars , from start to finish they were perfection personified, there communication was superb , I had the pleasure of dealing with Dinesh who is genuinely a nice straight talking guy who tries 100% , it’s clear he is dedicated to his job and motivated in a good way to achieve the right result for his client . I am so pleased that I chose this estate agents after having made a poor choice with a previous agent before I was aware of Hunters . I am normally a mega critical type person by nature , so for me to find people and a business that I cannot actual fault is rare , hunters and dinesh in particular are faultless , thank you for selling my property, may I wish you all the best for the future .

Awful customer service

I remain deeply disappointed in the way my most recent complaint has been handled at their Newcastle branch. The way the branch manager speaks to tenants is appalling! If you have a complaint then don’t expect any sympathy or accountability. We have rented this property for 11 years and in that time, we have been superb tenants but sadly that doesn’t mean anything to them. I anticipate a reply to this which will more than likely attempt to completely contradict what I’ve written here but just know that our experience has not been a positive one!

My experience selling a property in the…

My experience selling a property in the UK with this agent was extremely frustrating. For over four months, they delayed the transaction. Despite my constant follow-ups, they kept giving me excuse after excuse, like mortgage problems or minor issues, saying it would happen next week. Eventually, I told them I would pull out and sell to another buyer, but Matthew insisted I still had to pay. I also want to warn people about this company, be very cautious, because in the contract, they include terms that are unfavorable to the client. Once you sign, they do very little to follow up, and you can’t even be sure if the buyer will complete the deal. Their main priority is just getting you to sign, and regardless of whether the sale happens, they still take your money. And when I tried to back out, Matthew actually threatened me, saying that if I didn’t pay, they would escalate it to other departments. I feel this is a form of intimidation.”

Robot refused to give me a viewing

Awful experience trying to arrange a viewing. Spent yonks on the phone with a robot. It asked me unnecessary questions and misheard things; then had to reconfirm everything. Eventually it was happy. I hung up and it started again this time by text. In the end it refused to let me have a viewing unless I told them my spending budget - which I wasn't prepared to do. Do not sell your property through these idiots.

Disappointed

Disappointed, we learned our house purchase had fallen through at the point of us being ready to exchange on our property. We found out that the office had known about it and left it to the agent, who had been looking after us, to tell us after she came back from annual leave! We never got a reason for the purchase to fall through and they even tried delaying us putting an offer in on another property. Luckily this was with another agent and we trusted our gut as the trust with Hunters had gone. 7 weeks later we were in our new home. Felt let down and disappointed with Hunters. This was our first and last time dealing with them.

Invasion of privacy-HUNTERS LETTING AGENTS IN TRING-why not answering e mails matters

HUNTERS LETTING AGENTS IN TRINGThinking of renting via Hunters in Tring? My experience is very poor, at the moment they are not even replying to my e mails. Have had lots of problems with hot water etc, but my Xmas has been ruined by landlord taking it upon themselves to enter my home, poke around, opening cupboards etc, comment on water heater left on, all whilst I am away, under the pretext of a non essential repair that has been outstanding for 4 months at least. Hunters seem to think this is all ok, no reply to any of my e mails (nothing new there), for the last 4 days. I think this is really irresponsible behaviour by a letting agent as this feels like an invasion of privacy, am struggling to get early flight home to try to stop this from happening.I think there are good reasons why Hunters don't actively have a trust pilot account, on reading the reviews that is understandable.

Neron showed me a property last week. He tied up with the deal with the landlord at 7pm. Most agents I have seen properties with do not show me anything after 6pm. He then done the referencing and moved me in within 7 days from start to finish. I can not recommend a better agency and agent.

"Avoid Hunters Property Management

"Avoid Hunters Property Management, Inefficient, Rude, and Unprofessional"My experience with Hunters Property Management has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. They have consistently demonstrated poor service, inefficiency, and a dismissive attitude towards tenant concerns.Ineffective Issue Resolution: Hunters fails to handle even basic maintenance issues. For example, a heating issue during winter was passed to the landlord without any attempt to troubleshoot. I had to step in and take personal risks to resolve the problem myself, only to discover it was a simple battery replacement. Their inability to perform even basic triage highlights their lack of professionalism and problem-solving capabilities.Creating Gaps Between Tenants and Landlords: Instead of acting as a competent mediator, Hunters merely relays messages between tenants and landlords, causing delays and unnecessary misunderstandings. This approach has damaged the relationship between myself and the landlord, as the agency often fails to communicate effectively or accurately.Rude and Dismissive Behavior: The staff frequently respond to concerns with a dismissive tone, making tenants feel unsupported and undervalued. Their arrogant demeanor gives the impression that addressing tenant concerns is a favor rather than their responsibility.Neglecting Tenant Safety and Comfort: Health and safety issues, such as rat infestations and malfunctioning alarms, were not addressed promptly, despite the serious risks they posed. The lack of urgency in handling these matters has caused significant stress and discomfort for my family.Minimal Value Added: Hunters operates more like a messenger than a property management service. They fail to provide meaningful solutions and seem content to pass the burden of responsibility onto others, leaving tenants to fend for themselves.Overall, Hunters Property Management has proven to be unprofessional, inefficient, and dismissive. Both tenants and landlords deserve better. I strongly advise against using their services if you value timely resolutions, respect, and effective communication.

Property agent was late for the viewing. The offer to contract process was smooth. After moving to the property we reported multiple issues to the agent at hunters but they were noted/communicated incorrectly to the landlord, therefore a couple of issues were not sorted. When we raised this with the property agent they were extremely rude in their behaviour and blamed us for the mistake(this is despite the fact that everything was clearly mentioned on email). Also some queries took months to answer. There were some issues raised after the last property inspection in December 2021 which are still outstanding.
