I have been chasing regarding a one…

I have been chasing regarding a one bedroom flat which was very convenient for me and was available from the September. Since I had 2 months notice period for the current apartment I had planned in well advance and was happy with the same .There was some access issues for viewing the property which I completely agree but at least I should have been updated regarding the same.

Insufficient data to provide valuation!

Inputted postcode into zoopla website to establish current value of house with a view to understanding current local market. In order to do this I had to give my email address, name etc. Result was they had insufficient information to provide an estimated valuation yet they took my personal information. The website confirmed the price we paid for the address some 8 years ago, yet were unable to determine the current estimated value! For my needs, a complete waste of 5 minutes and I won’t be using or recommending Zoopla to anyone.

Hi Jamie, Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We're really sorry to hear you feel this way about our valuation model. The Zoopla house price estimate is based on data fed through an automated valuation model (AVM), which analyses property information on all 29 million UK homes on a continuous basis. Our data comes from multiple sources based on a number of data points relating to property sales, values and home characteristics throughout the UK, including publicly available data such as that from HM Land Registry and Registers of Scotland. The accuracy of Zoopla estimates is influenced by a number of factors such as the current market values of homes, the quality of the information available on the given property and the availability of comparable properties in the area. This means that unique properties or those where the housing market is slower, may experience less accurate estimates. We receive new data all the time and above-average variations will be largely a result of changing property characteristics and the comparability of the property to the local market. Therefore, discrepancies and/or increases or decreases such as you have outlined are not unusual. Here is a Help Centre article that will give you more information on where we get our data from: https://help.zoopla.co.uk/hc/en-gb/articles/360005677897 Many thanks, Zoopla Support

Algorithm reassessment time

Really not sure what's going on with Zoopla valuations but, contrary to government estimates and local sales stats, they show a near 10% drop in house value in my area over the past 2 years with no obvious rationale. Makes me seriously wonder whether their algorithm is fit for purpose, or if it's subject to manual intervention. It's almost as though Zoopla is trying to stimulate demand by undervaluing, but the effect, of course, will be that owners will keep their properties off the market. Or is Zoopla possibly continuing to down-value as a form of indirect attack on the Labour government's policies?

Misleading Offer

Zoopla’s advertising statement that you can get an evaluation of your property from them is very misleading. What you think is a simple transaction of giving your personal details over for a quick approximate evaluation, ends up being a barrage of calls, messages and emails from various estate agents. All I wanted to know is how much my property was worth for my own knowledge, that’s what I thought I was getting. DO NOT GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFO if you’re just looking for an evaluation for personal knowledge. This should be made clear to all users before they give their details over, not after.

Don’t trust them

Zoopla are showing incorrect flood risk info on their site that has lost us our house sale. The gov.uk website clearly states we are a very low flood risk. They are saying we are high. Their reply was they can’t change it as they use a company called Crystal Roof to supply data. I suspect they are linked as l cant work my way around this website and its incorrect data. So we’re are stuck with incorrect data on our house and dead ends to getting it rectified.

Hi Geraint, Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We're really sorry to hear you feel this way. Our local market data is based on analysis of thousands of listings and sold prices in your area and across the UK market.  At this point in time we publish information for each district council area. Where an outcode, that is the first part of a postcode, crosses one or more district council boundaries, we allocate it to the district council area with the larger number of homes i.e. the largest volume of housing stock.   However, we appreciate this is not helpful when you are looking at your local market stats and I apologise for the inconvenience this is causing you.  Your comments have been provided to the team who look after our property experiences. Not Happy With Zoopla

Where do Zoopla get their estimates? An algorithm? Estate agents? Why do all the houses in my village that I looked at tonight seem to be experiencing “High Confidence” while mine is showing as “Low Confidence”? How do Zoopla know what work you have done on the property, what outbuildings you’ve put up? They don’t appear to take into account the position, privacy or any other nuances of rural properties. For a brick build in a town they have a lot of comparables to work with, but these estimates can be very damaging to unique properties in a small village.

The app is not fit for purpose - you must be losing so many customers as the filters don't work. I select the type of house and the results go from 332 to 0. When I deselect the house, it stays at 0. Hard to use and always has been. Right move all the way. Not sure why you haven't fixed this yet when it must be losing you so many customers.

I am due to sell my property and Zoopla historical data is incorrect as they missed off my purchase back in 2009 it therefore makes the house look 30K cheaper than it actually was . They have the house listed as leasehold when it is freehold. I tried to rectify these issues but it appears you cannot and Zoopla customer care doesn't exist. Do not believe these sites (and Rightmove) as they are factually incorrect.

Zoopla - don't waste my time!

Zoopla emailed me about remortgaging one of my rentals so I went online requesting details of current rates for my situation. Answered lots of questions, including personal ones about income - and what did they give me? The chance to tick a box asking for a broker to contact me by phone. I assume Zoopla are doing this for some payment from the brokering services. For my part, I resent them wasting my time!

Highly inaccurate- Waste of time

Highly inaccurate, I'm not sure if it's just Northern Ireland properties. I know the specific property has been sold 3 times over the past 15 years - none shown. Then it gives an estimate of 107k for a house which has been sold for 120k 3 years ago and then 168k this year.
