This company doesn't seem to care…

This company doesn't seem to care either about their prospective customers or their existing landlords. I have an outstanding issue with their poor tenant management at a property that they have let for a number of years and their failure to recover documented damage after the tenant vacated the property. Nobody is answering my emails. The owner has notified his landlords that yet another staff member has left the company, they are notorious for being unable to retain staff. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Excellent service- as a landlord living several hundred miles away from property, I've been reliant on Hunters oversight and management of my flat. In particular special mention to Timea H , who has liaised directly with me on a regular basis and organised all the necessary checks and maintenance issues etc., as well as keeping me updated and informed of the changes in legislation. I felt confident in knowing that my tenants were being looked after , and that my property and interests were equally prioritised .Highly recommend this local management service

I was really impressed with the valuer's sales pitch and genuinely believed they would be the best firm to sell my home. The fact they had a relationship with Ryan property law also played a part, although that turned out to be a disaster, but that's a review for another day. Experience of sales team - Georgia is so lovely and was a pleasure to work with. However, even after a week, the sole promotion strategy was pushing me to lower the price, which I eventually caved into and feel like I would have got more money had I gone with an approach suggested by a different agent. I had over 30 viewings, which was exhausting preparing the house for. Most of these were time wasting - one definitely a pseudonym (why don't they ask for ID checks?) and at least 10 weren't actually people who were in a position to buy (not got house on market or it would turn out they'd offered elsewhere). The buyers buyer (also buying through Hunters), was not vetted correctly or there was a big cover up. If there was a cover up, Hunters couldn't tell me, because they had such poor record keeping. I was sent evidence of some record keeping with regards to something else (hello GDPR breach!) and it was full of typos and omissions. Sales progression experience was horrific. Thankfully they eventually replaced the person, as I could go on and on with my list of what she did that was totally unprofessional, but worst bit is she could have put my children at risk if it had been a DV situation, as she told everyone in the chain my new address and all the addresses of everyone in the chain, repeatedly. I repeatedly complained about her and they left it far too late to do anything. Absolutely appalling and this estate agent caused so much additional stress to what was already a horrific chain. I would not recommend to anyone.

Dreadful Experience

We booked valuation. Confirmed twice no show. She eventually came late at night & we fell for the speel. Big mistake just full of empty promises. No response to phone calls or emails. 17 days before first viewing. Buyers were not vetted as we were told. Some hadn't even got their house on the market. It was a truly horrible experience. Finally got a offer £30,000 below asking price! THEN I had an long email telling me we should take it ! They are beyond rubbish. They take on too many clients & cannot give you the time. They don't even ask if appointment is convenient to you. One word ....Jokers Two words....Avoid Avoid If I could give zero stars I would

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters auction. House was listed on website and tenanted for a fixed amount of rent which I was told by the auction agent called Robert. Also house was in bad state but got told tenants don’t care so why do you. Only to find out later on that tenants have never paid anywhere near that amount and it’s so much lower. So was lied to first of all and then later to meet the tenants and for them to tell us all the work they was promised and they wanted the house fixing top to bottom. What an absolute joke and waste of time and money. Keep your money and go elsewhere they will tell you anything just to sell a house that is overpriced

Rude, poor service - a must avoid for renters

Rude, get passed around from pillar to post while they try to ignore your requests or questions. Tried for years to get them to fix things but just continually fell on deaf ears. Now they're trying to claim issues are my fault which are down to shoddy contractors (which they use consistently, including at one point despite having had yearly gas checks, I get told that the previous 6 years hasn't been done properly and the build up that caused a leak was because of this. Everything is everyone's issue but theirs. Renters, avoid at all costs!

My involvement as a landlord with Hunters Estate & Lettings Agents in Tottenham, has been nothing but positive. They were highly recommended to me as an excellent estate/management agents. I have found the team of staff to be friendly, polite and helpful. The manager, Brahim, shows commitment and a willingness to help and assist in all situations and in my opinion, goes way above and beyond in his support. He is knowledgeable about the law as it relates to housing/rental issues and offers good advice. He is an amazing man; genuine and approachable and nothing is too much trouble for him. Awful customer service

I remain deeply disappointed in the way my most recent complaint has been handled at their Newcastle branch. The way the branch manager speaks to tenants is appalling! If you have a complaint then don’t expect any sympathy or accountability. We have rented this property for 11 years and in that time, we have been superb tenants but sadly that doesn’t mean anything to them. I anticipate a reply to this which will more than likely attempt to completely contradict what I’ve written here but just know that our experience has not been a positive one!

Nightmare move

I used Hunters to sell my home after living there for approximately 35 years. I want to acknowledge that the sale itself was complicated and involved significant delays, including probate and Land Registry issues. Hunters did work to keep the sale progressing, and I recognise the time and effort involved in that process. However, my experience on completion day was extremely distressing. I was still in the process of removing my belongings when the buyers and members of their family arrived at the property. My family and I were placed under considerable pressure to remove a lifetime of possessions as quickly as possible. My belongings were outside and in the street, and I felt deeply embarrassed, overwhelmed and humiliated by the circumstances. I had expected the handover of my home to be handled in a calm and organised way. Instead, what should have been an important and emotional moment after 35 years in my home became one of the most distressing experiences I have ever had. I raised a formal complaint with Hunters. The agency investigated the matter and explained that they had followed their usual procedures and were not aware that the buyers intended to attend the property at that time. I appreciate that Hunters were not present at the property and therefore could not comment directly on everything that happened there. I also appreciate that the completion process itself is controlled by solicitors and that many aspects of the timing are outside an estate agent's control. However, I remain deeply upset by the way the handover unfolded and by the experience I had on the day I left my home. I believe clearer communication and better coordination of the physical move may have prevented the situation from becoming so distressing. Having considered my experience and the response to my formal complaint, I would not recommend Hunters based on my experience of the completion and handover of my property. This review reflects my personal experience and the impact the events of completion day had on me.

1 bed property Sparks Close, Dagenham, RM8 - Landlord and hunters agent where complicit in illegal procedures regarding discrimination. We went through all the paper work and wasted 2 weeks till they call me and tell me the Landlord dont want a baby in the property. Don't trust them slow untrust worthy. And definitely dont rent the sparks close 1 bed property, Landlord seems like a handful save your self

Update: having moved out of their property they did hit me with a spurious £270 "cleaning fee" which included items that I'd left in better state than I'd received them. This kind of practice is unfortunately common, and I'm dropping 2 stars because of it. We did eventually settle on £150, but not before they refused my offer of half price and tried to pressure me to paying the £270 because "this will proceed to TDS and will take weeks/ months to conclude." This is plainly manipulation and it probably works for a lot of tenants, but as a tenant you need to know that TDS has resources to help you here. Don't let them bully you, keep a careful record of the state you leave the property in and push back if they try to make an unfair charge. Original review, still valid based on my experience of their management of the property: Unusually perhaps as a tenant I'm so far pretty impressed with Hunters. We've received great help from Timea in getting settled in, and I'm pleased to have a contact who is responsive and proactive in managing the property.
