If I could leave 0* I would. As a first time buyer we have had an absolutely disgusting time using Savills Southampton. 1) False dates throughout. Daniel Tarrant used the words “100%” and “promise” more times than we can remember when it came to a completion date. This happened from September until we finally moved in at the start of February.2) Endless calls for updates including messages never answered. We thought this was just us however after speaking to other buyers who have now moved in it seems the exact same for them. Often calling 5x a day and messages with no reply for weeks. He would then get back to us and blame a developer issue or waiting for meeting to then call us back. No surprise we heard nothing back.We also told Daniel our rental expired in October and he said 100% our place will be ready. This left us having to rely on parents to live for the last 5 months and separated from our dog. No apology just endless amounts of excuses.3) Pet licence - one of the first questions we asked if we are allowed dogs. The answer was yes every single time with no issues. The day of completion we then get told we have to pay £360+ vat for a pet licence. Savills said they were not aware. Surely simply asking during the process instead of a yes fine would work?4) Completion / Mortgage expiring - our mortgage offer expired 1st Feb and 2 weeks before we heard from Dan once via a returned call. Not the service you expect from your contact estate agent.5) completion day - a date was set by Paris smith and once again we could not get through to anyone at Savills. Eventually got hold of Helen (director) who arranged to meet us to complete and hand over the keys. Not once did Helen apologise to all of the above we mentioned she just said “I will look into this” and we still have not heard anything in regards to this. Again we heard excuses regarding pet licence “it’s the first have heard of it”.We then exchanged keys and had our first place. When we walked in we expected a new build clean place and found it still only about 80% complete.Dan told us specifically in December we could not view as it is polished clean and even they could not get access.The flat was dirty, stained carpets, shelves in units not complete, holes/marks on walls and sealant not applied to windows just to start. This place was clearly never cleaned or completed by the site.After speaking to the site manager he said they weren’t given proper notice regarding our move in date and they needed more time. They admitted the properties were not ready to move in. Other people on site even said people should not be moved in! Since moving in we have witnessed doors being left unlocked by teams fixing things in others properties, inappropriate staff harassing females and one message back from Helen after WE reached out to her. Nothing to check on us at all or to try and support us with our problems.We have also spoke to neighbours and other residents who have had equally bad experience some even moving in with no hot water or heating! Honestly would not recommend Savills to anyone unless you want the biggest headache added to buying a property.I am sure the other residents will be making a similar review in the near future.

It was a pleasure working with Savills to sell our house from a distance during an uncertain and challenging market in 2024. Our main point of contact was Felicity Walker, and we were impressed by her experience and local knowledge as well as her insights into the general housing market and the current economic climate. Highly professional, yet friendly and approachable, she took time to understand her clients’ personal circumstances, needs and preferences, and had a realistic and fair approach to buying and selling. Her perseverance and pragmatism in the face of occasional setbacks was most reassuring. The team as a whole were extremely helpful in arranging access for general maintenance, surveys, safety checks, etc. Communication was excellent and there was always timely feedback regarding viewings and buyer interest.

Perseverance pays off!

We were fortunate that it fell to Troy Budd to steer the sale of our property in Stoke Bishop, Bristol. The housing market was becoming increasingly sluggish, with the number of viewings declining. We also lost about 5/6 weeks when a 'prospective buyer" wasted our time, and Troy's, and then just walked away! Troy persisted and a previous "viewer" renewed his interest and, when we least expected, Troy's efforts were rewarded when, unexpectedly, exchange of contracts and completion were accomplished in quick time and the sale was concluded. Much due to Troy's perseverance and persuasive manner. Our sale was due, in no small part, to Troy's efforts in a difficult market.

Simply the best

Savills has been excellent to work with. For that reason, I decided to forgo using any other services and focus exclusively on their properties.Since becoming a tenant, the vast majority of my experiences have been overwhelmingly positive. This company are the managing agents…

This company are the managing agents for a shop I rented. Shocking customer service from Billie Stephenson. She confirmed the amount of our deposit held by Savills then once the keys were returned suddenly she tells us she made a mistake. Been trying to get this resolved for weeks. Her phone is hardly ever answered, messages are rarely responded to. She promised to call me back over a week ago and nothing.
