Friendly, professional and with great local knowledge

Over the past 15 years, as a househunter buying and selling property in South East London and as a landlady letting out my flat, I have always been most impressed by Brown and Brooke. The staff are friendly and efficient, great problem-solvers and good at communicating. They have great local knowledge and years of experience. All the tradespeople and contractors they recommend are equally brilliant. For example, they recently organised the re-decoration of my apartment and the results are very pleasing. During the difficult period of the COVID-19 lockdown they were especially good at keeping everyone onside and helping me to resolve issues with tenant behaviour and rent arrears. Altogether Brown and Brooke offers a reliable, flexible and professional estate agent and property management service. I can recommend them wholeheartedly.

Our experience with Brown & Brooke

Brown & Brooke have been managing our portfolio of properties for several years now and all this time we have been allowed to relax. We trust them completely and for good reasons. Tony and Cameron have been wonderfully efficient in managing our properties, liaising with the tenants and ourselves, expertly negociating in cases of some conflicts between the parties involves and in fact getting us better rental income that we expected. We are overseas landlords so in it invaluable for us to have good people looking after our business when we are not there. They definitely deserve a 5 stars report and if we could we would have added another star. Agents you can trust to be on your side

As a first time landlord away from my property I was nervous about choosing managing agents. However my initial phone calls and visits from Cameron really put me at ease from the get go and I felt they were streets ahead of other agents I had approached. Professional, competent, reliable - I felt Cameron and Tony really listened to my concerns and they weren’t pushy. I feel they are on my side and have my interests at the fore. Still in the first few months of being a landlord but so far it’s gone really smoothly and I would recommend them without reservation.

We would definitely recommend using B&B. We felt that the whole team worked hard to complete our transaction. B&B used their professionalism and experience to ensure that all parties in the chain worked towards exchange and completion dates which were ultimately achieved. Our view was this differentiated B&B from the cheaper, online agents - without their local knowledge and commitment the chain would have fallen apart. This local knowledge was especially important on the subject of valuation - B&B provide a realistic viewpoint which contrasted with many of the more optimistic stances of less experienced agencies. Selling and buying a house is rollercoaster, with many different personalities involved. At the heart of it, Steve and Alan were a calming influence, and helped to make the process as smooth as it could be!

They say that moving house is the one of the most stressful times of your life and ours was no exception. What made it a lot easier to handle was the incredibly professional and helpful services of Brown and Brooke who expertly guided us through the whole process. Unhelpfully we had a buyer pull out of the purchase just days before exchanging contracts but Alan and his team had the house back up on the market and a new sale agreed within 3 days, and we got more money. Not having moved house for a long time they were always there for the odd piece of advice and when necessary to speed up those other parts of the chain who were dragging their heels. I could not recommend Brown and Brooke enough, at all stages of the process they were very efficient and friendly and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Brown & Brooke were fantastic when we sold our London home 8 years ago and enabled our speedy relocation to Kent. Therefore, It was an easy decision to choose Brown & Brooke when it came to selling my mother-in-law's home when we all decided to sell up and buy one house to accommodate us all. As you can imagine, selling two homes in different locations to purchase one property was a huge feat but the whole process was made so much easier with the support of the Brown & Brooke team. In particular, I'd like to thank you for the sensitivity shown towards my 90 year old mother-in-law who was selling the family home she'd lived in her whole life - however, she didn't even look back when she left! We cannot thank you enough for enabling us to purchase the dream home for us all, especially for 'Granny' who is safely and happily installed in her ultra-modern annexe with her son and grandchildren only a few steps away. We would highly recommend a call to Steve and his team if you are looking to buy, sell or rent in the area.

We found Brown & Brooke extremely frustrating to work with. Most times I couldn't tell if they were the solicitors, the vendors selling or some type loan shark. They just kept pestering us and emailing at least twice a day. At one point we asked for a 2nd more detailed survey to be done, only for them to tell us it would delay the process and the vendors would most likely pull out! I was so angry! I was so sure estate agents were supposed to be neutral, but these guys acted like loan sharks who we owed money! I will never God willing use them again. As first time buyers they've left an ugly taste in our mouths.

I was shown around the property by Alan Middlewood, Sales Manager. He was polite and efficient and was able to answer my queries efficiently. I telephoned him later in the day to put in my only and final offer. My offer was accepted, thankfully. Then the whole team at Brown and Brooke guided me safely and efficiently throughout the whole process including liaising with the vendor, his solicitors as well as mine, in order to iron out various hiccups that occurred along the way. From beginning to end, the whole process took only two months, thanks mainly to the team at Brown and Brooke. After-sale service was equally efficient because Brown and Brooke supplied items such as brochures for working the cooker, microwave etc that was not available in the property when I moved in. I cannot praise Brown and Brooke highly enough, especially when I received less than professional services from some Estate Agents in the area that I dealt with for the previous six months. Browne and Brooke, in particular, Alan Middlewood and Steven Brown restored my faith in Estate Agents! I would not hesitate in recommending Brown and Brooke to anyone who wants a professional and efficient service when buying (or selling) property. Personally,they make buying a property a less stressful experience than expected!

I’ve been living in a Brown and Brooke property for 3 years now (2 years landlord managed 1 year managed by Brown and Brooke). The team there are all very helpful. If we have every had any problems with the flat they get things fixed extremely fast and keep you updated throughout. Karen (our main contract) is extremely professional and approachable. I don’t you could really want any more and I wouldn’t hesitate in highly recommending them.
