Hamptons Maida Vale
We've rented through Hamptons and predecessor companies for nearly a decade. Selen Hurbas who was our last Property Manager has been great. She is very responsive, professional and has kept us updated when issues have arisen.

We have Rented through Hamptons for the last 3 years. My husband and I have always dealt with David Whiting who is the senior property manager. He is excellent! No problem too big or too small. Always friendly and chatty and always deals with any issues we have very quickly we are just hoping he stays there for a while yet! Great service!

Great Rental Experiences
Property rented through Hamptons for over 3 years this time around. Some years previously also successfully rented apartment. In all cases excellent rental prices achieved at the absolute top end of expectations and where tenants have moved on new tenants have been sourced and ready to move in with either no void periods or just a day or two on tenant changeover.Current property manager is Harleigh Doherty and she has simply been the best of the best. Nothing is too much trouble and everything has been extremely well managed both for me as the landlord and for my tenants. Even better Harleigh has a great personality so is exceptionally easy to work with always exhibits good humour and together we make light of resolving any issues that did arise.

Sarita Sainsbury has been an exceptional Property Manager for many years for our portfolio of flats held with Hamptons. She is extremely professional, knowledgeable, diligent, proactive and trustworthy. All this plus an all important sunny disposition and sense of humour! Sarita truly understands the client relationship and is able to push back constructively in a sensitive way as and when required. We have a great working relationship and I respect her abilities enormously.

Awful experience dealing with Hamptons…
Awful experience dealing with Hamptons and especially Rebecca Voller at the fleet office. Hamptons need to think about the experience of the customer and the agent was truely offer in her dealings. Quite frankly I would never deal with Hamptons for buying and selling houses.

Avoid to use Hampton as a tenant or landlord
The worse Letting agency that I have used in UK. When I make my offer and we have agreed for the price with confirmation email from them, they have informed after 5 days that they had better offer, they never remove from advertisement. According my tenancy they never fix the heating problem in the flat and they said me to buy a heater. Before the check out they advice me to use their own professional cleaning charging me £265 for one studio (after a research on online it's only £130). and at the end they try to charge me for FWT and when I informed them that I will send for dispute they increased the amount. Avoid to use this agent.

Paid £9000 in rent over 6 months & still cannot shower
Unfortunately I have had a horrible time with Hamptons Caterham, to my real surprise as a brand as esteemed as Hamptons, you’d expect perfect service.I moved in, in May 2024, paying £1500 a month for a 2 bed flat. A nice flat, I expected some small teething pains upon move in of course, but not to spend 6 months with no bathroom hot water - meaning I am left to boil 4 pots of hot water a day to have a hot bath. Not only that, since moving in, the dishwasher didn’t work and had to be totally replaced. The shower unit was broken and also had to be totally replaced.Thereafter, I have had no hot water in the shower. The plumbers they use, Homeserve, are so inadequate they have no clue what they’re doing. They have been here 3/4 times, and the issue persists. They now blame the shower manufacturer, the manufacturer blames the plumbing - who knows. Ultimately, it’s been 6 months with an inability to shower - when I’ve now paid £9000.I am fed up, drained, stressed, it’s impacted my skin (long term eczema) and is now impacting my everyday wellbeing.Their complaints department also do nothing. You are really just left to suffer and pay your rent - regardless of the environment you’re left in. The landlord throughout all of this has refused to discount my rent. I will therefore take legal action for pain and suffering and my partial of my rent money back as I have not received what I paid for.If you are a potential tenant my advice would be to:-thoroughly check all appliances and plumbing yourself *before* you move in. Do not take Hamptons word for it that all is working.-do not accept Hamptons inventory report that all is working, as they said on mine all appliances and hot water was working fine, when it wasn’t.-be prepared that any issue you have may take 6+ months plus to be resolved and you will not have a rent reduction. The best thing to do is save more money and buy your own property, so you can be in control of all repairs and the quality of those repairs. Do not rely on Hamptons or a landlord to be fair or give you the service you pay for.Jessica

Elle Seaby - Great Property Manager
We've been with Hamptons for a while, and they've always provided a great service. Our property manager Elle Seaby is a superstar. She is extremely patient, knowledgeable and is always happy to help. We previously had some issues and challenges with tenants, and she was so helpful and professional throughout. We don't worry about our portfolio with her as they're in good hands!

NOT RECOMMENDED
NOT RECOMMENDED. These people will charge you a fortune in management fees for absolutely nothing. I have had to do all the emailing and sorting out from overseas despite paying for a full management service. I have complained but been ignored. I have asked for my complaint to go into the formal complaints procedure but I am still ignored. Classic attitude of companies these days. They just ignore your complaint. No customer service at all.

I caution anyone planning to buy/sell a property with Hamptons Chelsea, especially using Nick Hubner, Senior Head of Sales Chelsea after Mr Hubner sold me a flat without running water in the kitchen and refused to help in sorting problem. In his own words: 'I can only sympathise. I wouldn't have a clue'. To which I fully agree. Big talker, no action, arms 'length, unhelpful, grab the money and run, is how I would describe Mr Hubner. Terrible experience. Great shame.

Incompetent Staff with no concern to service delivery
I am not one to usually complain in a public forum, unless the experience has been so horrendous that it warrants such action. We are owners of properties that used Hamptons for a few years on two units within our portfolio. They used to be great! However, at the latest renewal, I have never experienced such incompetence from what should be a "professional estate agent."Mentioned to them that our colleague who usually handled renewals was on maternity leave (on two occasions) and to update their system with an alternate email address for communications and renewals. Confirmed this is done on both occasions and yet when it comes to sending documents, they continue to send to the colleague on maternity leave. To makes this worse the documents are protected so no-one else but the recipient can view. How difficult can it be, to update a system with a new contact detail?Emails never get responded to or take about 1-2 weeks. When they do come, apologies are frivolous with no real action on resolving but rather just a generic "sorry".In the end we had to inconvenience our colleague (who had just given birth) to access her emails and authorise a renewal as waiting for Hamptons would have either never happened or would have delayed our renewal beyond expiry. Absolutely shocking service delivery, and to date no apology instead they send an invoice for their fees! Would definitely not recommend this agency to anyone who is looking for a professional firm that values clients small or big with respectable service. Many better options available else where with better fee structures too. I hope this helps anyone else who is considering a good estate agent.

I would leave zero stars if I could
I would leave zero stars if I could. Had my property on the market for 8 weeks with them, 3 of which were over the summer holiday. They undervalued initially then asked me twice to reduce the price despite an identical house selling for £75k more than they had valued mine at. Did nothing to pro actively market and seemed interested only in the commission they wanted to make. Then sent me an email telling me as I would not reduce the price any further they were withdrawing their services. Just abhorrent behaviour. DO NOT USE.

The house next door to us in Henley
The house next door to us in Henley - on - Thames is rented out on behalf of the landlords by Hamptons. At the end of June 2018 I telephoned their contact number to request that they arrange for someone come around and chop down some bushes that are encroaching on our garage roof which need fixing. I was told no problem this would be done within a fortnight. Here we are the first week in September and after a number of polite phone calls and a visit to the local office we are still waiting. At some point in the near future we may put our house up for sale, guess who won't be getting the business.

Hampstons Sales Agents - Clueless, Rude & show a lot of apathy
So far met two Sales Agents from Hamptons in Stanmore. First one knew absolutely nothing about the property she showed me. The Second one I met gossiping in their Marketing Office on the development site at Heathbourne Village, Stanmore. A lot of apathy & rude - the property I was meant to view had (apparently!) been sold on the previous day but didn't bother to call on the day to let me know. She opened the appointment diary& only 2 appointments on the day - not as if run off her feet. In the heatwave with the appointment at mid-day, I could really have done without the trip.No clue on how to deal with prospective buyers. Both in different ways behaved like they were a charitable org doing me a favour.

Inefficient and opportunistic
Hamptons has been very punctual and helpful when it comes to sign contracts and seal the deal for renting apartments. We had a terrible experience, after that, as the agents wouldn’t respond to us in an efficient manner when it comes to fix things at the start of the tenancy. After 3 weeks we still believe that the flat we moved in to wasn’t sufficiently cleaned properly, which was promised at the start of the tenancy and no one seems helpful in fixing this issue. We are in disbelief of the inefficiency of the office in Paddington. When it comes to send money or finish contracts they are super responsive, however after, we had the worst customer experience I have ever seen . The day of our move in, WE had to contact them in order to get keys for the new flat, and never received any help after that. At this time, after 3 weeks of moving in, we still haven’t received any help to solve minor issues.

Exceptional Service and Support from Hamptons
My experience with Hamptons has been positive, largely due to the exceptional assistance provided by Ms. April Keane. When I found myself locked out after forgetting my keys inside the house, she went above and beyond to help me. Instead of having to call a costly locksmith, Ms. Keane promptly arranged for a spare key, saving me both time and money. Her professionalism, responsiveness, and willingness to resolve the situation efficiently were greatly appreciated. Hamptons is clearly committed to providing excellent customer service, and Ms. Keane’s efforts reflect the company’s dedication to client satisfaction.

Hamptons letting service for landlords…
Hamptons letting service for landlords not fit for purpose. Hamptons managed my property in Stratford upon Avon in a very unprofessional way. They have very poor communication and mis managed the property while still charging very high fees. After requesting a section 21 to be sent to my tenants at the end of their contract, Hamptons filled out the form incorrectly. Do not trust them to manage your property. Sorting out the mess and mistakes they made has cost me time, money and stress. JUST read response from Hamptons and have already contacted customer care to make an official complaint.

A truly excellent service
A truly excellent service! We’re very pleased with the services we receive for the house we rent in Oxford managed by Hamptons. We’ve been in this house for over 1.5 years and our experience has been that Hamptons staff are professional, efficient and kind. Particular thanks goes to our property manager Max Barnes who has been very quick at sorting out problems in a helpful and friendly manner.

NOT ALL HEROS WEAR CAPES
Firstly I think it’s important to establish that in my 42 years of life; I have never, ever, written a complaint review of any sort. As I generally can’t be bothered; and let’s face it - what’s really going to be done about it anyway. Who cares what a “Karen” really thinks. However, if this changes just one persons mind about a Hamptons letting, then I will die safe in the knowledge that I have fulfilled my duty to protect and serve. After renting the flat from Hamptons (which in itself was attritional, but not enough for me to go into detail about) my partner and I have been inundated with problem after problem with the flat itself. Everything from the flat being dirty when moving in, to broken beds not fit to use, and a shower leak that still isn’t fixed 12 months later. Leading to water seeping into the entire flat, which has developed mould in the carpets, walls, doors and skirting. Enter into the fray (stage right) the Hamptons Property Management team. A team so devoid of ability to coordinate, communicate or deliver anything of substance; I honestly thought at various points a friend was pranking me. At times it feels as if this team is intentionally useless. Like a social experiment to test the patience of the nation. In 10 months we have had 3 different property managers ranging in ability from; useless to pathetic. Under the useless stewardship of Alex Ferrin who categorically told me that the landlords were more important than the tenants; we have had Grace, Donna and now Minneaux as property managers that do nothing to help or support residents with genuine problems. Not cosmetic issues like chipped paint…but broken, useless essentials like a shower!Several of these issues are still not fixed at the time of writing this….12 months after reporting them. Shower and Bed principally. We have had to contact a solicitor to pursue our landlord and Hamptons for compensation on these matters. We continued paying the rent to maintain the high ground when this inevitably reaches court to satisfy the situation. But it is through massively gritted teeth. Estate agents can get a bad name. But Hamptons have earned it.

How Hamptons totally left us high and dry
we had arranged to move in to a new property with Hamptons, everything was going fine. the last minute the current tenants of the property we had hoped to move in to fell through, it happens. how ever at that point baring in mind we had signed the tenancy agreement, also considering we had given our notice on our current property. the landlord/ Hamptons should have been liable to sort us out accommodation in that situation. Hamptons came back with a statement saying, they had signed but not dated the contract and therefore were not obligated to help at all. this is the shadiest thing ive ever witnessed. during that phase, where you have given notice and signed new contract, its imperative you are protected by the tenancy contract for situations just like this. if you are going to do business with Hamptons, triple check everything. we had a week to find a new property, we ended up somewhere far less than ideal. I would sincerely recommend not doing business with Hamptons
