We bought and sold with Corum Shawlands in 2025. I cannot fault the entire team who all worked exceptionally hard to ensure as smooth a process as possible. Firstly thanks to Greg for his expert support and advice and working so hard to sell our home once we found the right property to buy. Steph was always on hand to answer all queries and guide us through the selling process. Alistair thank you for showing us round many properties over the years (including our new home) and never tiring of our relentless viewings! I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone buying or selling in the area.

We sold our flat through Corum and were pleased with how quickly it went on the market and the final sale price achieved. However, our experience working with one member of staff was disappointing. Their communication often felt pushy and at times aggressive. When we wanted to discuss strategy or consider offers, the tone felt more pressuring than supportive. On closing date, we were discouraged from accepting the highest offer, which we ultimately did anyway and achieved a better result. We also found them inflexible when arranging the initial visit before marketing. At times, when we contacted the office for updates, other team members were helpful, but follow up communication from this individual felt dismissive, as though our queries were unwelcome. After the sale was agreed, they continued contacting us about the date of entry while we were on holiday, suggesting the whole chain was “desperate,” despite this being a matter for solicitors. While the outcome was positive, working with this individual was unnecessarily stressful, and we would not recommend dealing with them.

Recently purchased a property that was sold by Corum. I’ll be careful not to do that again. I viewed a property that had been on the market for a month.I ended up placing an offer that was accepted, and everything was great for a couple weeks. I had a move in date and got my place on the market. Then my solicitor contacted me to tell me the sellers were not the registered owners. The property had been put on the market by someone who didn’t own the place. And no one at the estate agents had thought to confirm or do a land title search. The sellers hadn’t filed for probate. So the legal process to become the owners hadn’t even been initiated despite it now being six weeks since the property was listed. Probate takes anywhere from 3 months to a year to compete. I no longer had a move in date and my sale was in jeopardy. The staff at the office then told me it was okay because I could just move in with my parents. No sorry. I was told probate should complete either at the end of December or the beginning of January. So the last working week before Christmas I called the office to see if they had any update. It had been a month since I had last been in contact. Karen answered the phone and was extremely rude. Told me to stop calling, huffing down the phone at me. She said that I shouldn’t worry about having no where to live when my flat sold because I could just live with my parents until probate and the rest of the process completed. At no point had I told them that I was planning on doing this. Fast forward and I got the keys. The flat was filthy. The sellers clearly never cleaned a day in their life, and that was just the cherry on the top of buying through Corum.

saw a promising property. I scheduled a viewing. I spoke with a staff member named Elidh. The questions felt intrusive. She asked about my purchase method. I said I was a cash buyer. She pressed further. She asked if the funds were in my bank account. She asked when they would be available if not. This questioning felt sort of weird and inappropriate. I decided not to proceed with the viewing. Also I experienced issues with another staff member, Jennifer, who provided inconsistent information regarding closing dates. Despite my request to be removed from their mailing list, I continued to receive communications, raising concerns about their adherence to data protection practices. In my 35 years of property buying experience, I've never encountered such an approach. I hope the agency addresses these concerns to improve their customer service.

Attempted to view a number of properties. Clearly those on the phones have misplaced their customer service manuals and need a good reality check as to their simple roles. Attempting to get useful and correct information from one young sounding woman (can't remember the name) is akin to asking a wooden spoon for directions, utterly incompetent Customer service at every turn exhibits a remarkable level of...leisure. Conversations convey the enthusiasm of a sloth on sedatives. Call here if as a buyer you want to be made to feel like your time and money are worthless.

Very poor service - their marketing materials were riddled with mistakes and getting them sorted out was like pulling teeth. Given the amount they charge you would expect them to be competent but that’s apparently too much to ask. Also given they charge a flat fee there is no incentive to get a good price for your property, they just want it sold so they get the fee. Avoid at all costs.
