Mark Upston was brilliant and could not help more. It is the first time we have purchased properties from an auction, and the first time we have bought rental properties. Mark answered all of our very long list of questions without hesitation. He offered to do the phone bidding before the day and talked us through the whole time the bidding was happening. This made it much less daunting knowing he knew exactly what to do. We did not feel pressured at all and he carried out our instructions perfectly. We won two properties which was our aim. He made it a pleasurable experience and we would definitely recommend Auction House and particularly Mark to anyone thinking of buying at auction. The whole process was made very clear and dealt with very professionally. Timescales of 28 days were all adhered to by Auction House. Mark also rang after the sale to make sure we knew what to do, and again once everything was completed. Thank you

I very rarely leave a review (and almost always when dissatisfied) but have been enormously impressed with this outfit. Having seen other poor reviews here i was initially sceptical about dealing with them. However, my experience has been fantastic. And I am therefore minded to balance the negativity I found here on Trustpilot.My wife and I were interested in a flat in the auction of 24May2023. The ownership, paperwork and general legalities were complex and my solicitor advised me not to touch it! However, I contacted London Auction House and the CEO, Jordan Philips, called me personally. He put me in touch directly with the seller’s solicitors and I was able to get straight answers to my questions direct from them. As a result I decided to switch my own solicitor to someone I had greater confidence in. His advice gradually became positive.In the evening of 22nd May, I mistakenly thought the flat had sold pre-auction as it did not show on their “Lots still available” tab (which I now know references Lots not sold at previous auctions!) I texted Jordan late that evening and he immediately confirmed that it was still available.The next afternoon - and after further reassurances from various parties - I consulted Jordan and made a pre-auction offer. This turned into a brief negotiation which Jordan handled personally with half a dozen phone calls or so. Within two hours of the deal being struck, the deposit was paid and contracts exchanged.I have nothing but praise for the entire process and particularly for the preparedness of Jordan (who I have still never met) to get involved and respond personally whenever asked. Such a rare quality in today’s world. As a postscript to this experience I asked for pre-completion access with architects which Jordan then organised with the vendor and offered to personally attend if necessary as the vendor’s agreement was dependent on London Auction House attendance. I wish Jordan and his company every success for the future.

I was very impressed by Chris and the whole team. Chris recently sold a commercial property for me through The Auction House although in the end the property was sold in advance of the auction for a fair price. The whole process was explained to me in detail at the beginning and communication throughout was very good. I would definitely use Edwards Moore again and would thoroughly recommend them.

Having attempted to sell my house through a local Estate Agent in Liskeard, over a 5 month period, without any success, I opted to sell through Auction House, Devon and Cornwall, Adam Cook and Fiona Quan. I was very impressed with their thoroughly professional and attentive service, and the immediate success of securing a sale. The feedback of viewings, and market analysis in terms of online activity and virtual viewing video on YouTube was really exceptional. Both Adam and Fiona kept me informed with progress by phone and email, and the whole process was very well managed and the sale by auction went as planned and exceeded expectations of price achieved on the day. Considering the difficulty of covid restrictions, the sale could not have been smoother and very stress free. Adam and Fiona work as an excellent team. I would highly recommend using Auction House, Devon and Cornwall as they really understand their market place, and certainly removed all the usual stresses of selling off my shoulders. 100% professional service!! I’m now moved and very happy I chose to use them!! So many agents give promises but don’t deliver. Auction House exceeded my expectations. Thank you so much Adam and Fiona!!

Commenting as a buyer, Auction House felt friendly and safe. The two most important criteria for me. I have deducted one star because a) it was not always easy to search the website and find the particular property I was following and b) it was not apparent to me that I had to re-register after the property was delayed to a later auction. a) and b) might say more about me than AH though.

Sam explained everything and reassured my nerves. He also took the time to update me on watchers and bidders everyday including his days off. The selling price was very much in line with what he predicted upon initial viewing and there was enough interest from the bidders to attain this. Following my recent experience with auction house I just wanted to leave a review on how great the South Yorkshire team are, Sam in particular.I approached two auctioneers for appraisals on my bosses properties and Sam came back swiftly with what I needed, the other auctioneer (I won’t mention any names) didn’t even bother coming back to me so I assume didn’t want the business - Which is a shame as we will definitely have more to send Sams way! None the less, even if they had, I was so bowled over by the service provided by Sam and the team that we would’ve chose them to auction off the properties regardless.The communication and contact throughout was fantastic, updating us on the progress of the property from the day it was listed to auction day and even afterwards. On the day of the auction, the Livestream was brilliant it felt like we were in the room with the auctioneer, lots of excitement in our office even if we couldn’t be at the auction itself. The prices we achieved for the properties were above and beyond what we expected to achieve so we are over the moon! Sam even went out of his way to visit our office over Christmas to drop off a thank you hamper of booze and chocolates! Overall Outstanding service by Sam, I would give extra stars if I could and can’t recommend the auction house South Yorkshire team enough! Thanks again guys

Registered to bid on a property in the London auction. Paid the required block they put on the required funds in your bank account and i checked with my.bank that this was in place and then when i wanted to bid it wouldn't let me.Waste of time and effort.There should be a way to test you are set up to bid before your chosen property starts.Can't trust their system.Update: 17 MarchDespite being unable to bid in their auction they still have a block on thousands of pounds of my money two days after the auction i couldn't bid on.Terrible experience.Response to their response:I don't recall any emails about a query with my address and i gave my passport and a BT bill as proof. They are happy with my address. Maybe your emails went into my spam box, i will check later. However if you were not happy with my address ( which is correct) why allow me to pay a holding deposit in order to bid and keep reminding me to do so?I will check with my bank to see who is stopping me from gaining access to my money.Not happy either way and your systems need to be dramatically improved.Very sceptical now.Update following a call to my bankMy bank spend a long time checking the hold you placed on my money and they tell me you have NOT released that hold on my fund as you claim and they have to wait until you do that. MAYBE YOU SHOULD CHECK WITH YOUR BANK!!Update 18 MarchFinally the hold on my money has now been withdrawn.Also checked all my emails and spam box and no emails have been received claiming they had an issue with my address as they claim. Also when going through their registration process at no stage did it indicate a problem as all sections were ticked as being ok before it allowed me to enter my bank details so they could put a hold on my funds should i bid.In reply to their last response:Your registration system gave ticks against the items you asked for and then i booked my funds that you wanted as security. You need to make sure your check system works correctly so that if there is an issue with one part you cannot go through to the next part. Then i would have known there was an issue.
Hello Michael.We're sorry to hear about your experience trying to bid at auction. A member of the London team emailed you about an issue regarding your proof of address on the 8th March. You were then subsequently sent a reminder regarding your registration every day following this, but unfortunately no further action was taken by yourself. When registering to bid, a member of the auction team needs to authorise your application by verifying two forms of ID. You are only set up to bid when you have received confirmation from the auction team that this has been authorised. The registration system does state whether an application is ‘awaiting approval’ or ‘approved’ which would be the method used by bidders to check if they are set up to bid. We do however take on board your feedback and will review the processes in place to ensure that bidders are kept fully informed on the status of their application and any issues that may arise, and where possible not rely solely on email communications.
