I’ve recently bought my first home that was being sold through Hunters, and they kept in clear communication and were always friendly and open throughout. Naomi showed me around the house on my first visit and was very honest and informative, Andy helped me through the offer process and was there to follow up whenever I needed, and Ben and Ian were really great and helpful anytime I popped in to check up on things. Highly recommended 👌

This company doesn't seem to care…

This company doesn't seem to care either about their prospective customers or their existing landlords. I have an outstanding issue with their poor tenant management at a property that they have let for a number of years and their failure to recover documented damage after the tenant vacated the property. Nobody is answering my emails. The owner has notified his landlords that yet another staff member has left the company, they are notorious for being unable to retain staff. I would not recommend them to anyone.

We had a really positive experience with Hunters throughout the process of buying our house. Communication was clear and timely, and Ben was approachable and helpful at every stage. Ben kept things moving, followed up promptly between all parties, and he was always happy to answer questions or clarify details, which made the process seamless. Overall, we felt well supported from viewing through to completion and would happily recommend them to others looking to buy a home.

I was really impressed with the valuer's sales pitch and genuinely believed they would be the best firm to sell my home. The fact they had a relationship with Ryan property law also played a part, although that turned out to be a disaster, but that's a review for another day. Experience of sales team - Georgia is so lovely and was a pleasure to work with. However, even after a week, the sole promotion strategy was pushing me to lower the price, which I eventually caved into and feel like I would have got more money had I gone with an approach suggested by a different agent. I had over 30 viewings, which was exhausting preparing the house for. Most of these were time wasting - one definitely a pseudonym (why don't they ask for ID checks?) and at least 10 weren't actually people who were in a position to buy (not got house on market or it would turn out they'd offered elsewhere). The buyers buyer (also buying through Hunters), was not vetted correctly or there was a big cover up. If there was a cover up, Hunters couldn't tell me, because they had such poor record keeping. I was sent evidence of some record keeping with regards to something else (hello GDPR breach!) and it was full of typos and omissions. Sales progression experience was horrific. Thankfully they eventually replaced the person, as I could go on and on with my list of what she did that was totally unprofessional, but worst bit is she could have put my children at risk if it had been a DV situation, as she told everyone in the chain my new address and all the addresses of everyone in the chain, repeatedly. I repeatedly complained about her and they left it far too late to do anything. Absolutely appalling and this estate agent caused so much additional stress to what was already a horrific chain. I would not recommend to anyone.

Dreadful Experience

We booked valuation. Confirmed twice no show. She eventually came late at night & we fell for the speel. Big mistake just full of empty promises. No response to phone calls or emails. 17 days before first viewing. Buyers were not vetted as we were told. Some hadn't even got their house on the market. It was a truly horrible experience. Finally got a offer £30,000 below asking price! THEN I had an long email telling me we should take it ! They are beyond rubbish. They take on too many clients & cannot give you the time. They don't even ask if appointment is convenient to you. One word ....Jokers Two words....Avoid Avoid If I could give zero stars I would

I had an exceptional experience working with Julie Decraene throughout my house purchase. From start to finish before passing onto the next agent for the further process of buying my house, her service was nothing short of outstanding. She made what can often be a stressful and complicated process feel smooth, straightforward, and incredibly efficient. Julie was always professional, approachable, and highly responsive. Any questions or concerns I had were addressed promptly and clearly, which gave me a great deal of confidence and peace of mind. Her knowledge and expertise were evident at every stage, and she guided me through the process with ease, ensuring everything moved forward quickly without any unnecessary delays. What truly stood out was how seamless she made the entire experience. The process of buying a house can be overwhelming, but Julie handled everything with such organisation and attention to detail that it felt effortless on my part. Her dedication and commitment to providing excellent service really shone through. I am genuinely grateful for her support and would highly recommend Julie Decraene to anyone looking for a reliable, efficient, and professional service. She has made a significant milestone in my life an incredibly positive and stress-free experience.

Excellent experience with Hunters

We had an excellent experience with Hunters from start to finish. Richard, Brenda and Adam were fantastic throughout the entire process - always responsive, easy to contact, and happy to help with any questions we had. Everything ran smoothly with no issues at all, and their professionalism and communication made a potentially stressful process much easier. We would highly recommend Hunters to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

Excellent experience with Hunters, Easingwold. The team were very professional throughout the whole selling process. The Property Dashboard was incredibly useful, regularly updated with viewing info. Ben was my main point of contact, always friendly, efficient and kept me up to date of important updates and changes. The entire team were always helpful if I ever needed to call the office, they took care of every part of the process making it much easier for me as a seller. I highly recommend Hunters of Easingwold and would not hesitate to use them again in the future. Many thanks to all!

Absolutely! Here's a review you can use, tailored to your positive experience: Review for Hunters of Easingwold (Ben Watson): "We recently purchased a property in Newton on Ouse, and while Hunters of Easingwold were the sellers' agents, we felt compelled to leave a review due to the exceptional service provided by Ben Watson. From the very beginning, Ben went above and beyond what we expected from an agent. Despite not being our direct representative, Ben maintained consistent and clear communication throughout the entire process. He was always readily available to answer our questions and provided regular updates, even proactively chasing other parties in the chain to keep things moving. His responsiveness and willingness to help were truly remarkable. Ben's professional, friendly, and proactive approach made a significant difference in what can often be a stressful experience. His service was, without a doubt, the best we have ever encountered in the property market. In stark contrast, our own estate agents were lacking in communication and efficiency, making Ben's efforts even more appreciated. We cannot recommend Ben Watson and Hunters of Easingwold highly enough. If you're looking for an estate agent who prioritises communication, efficiency, and customer service, look no further. Thank you, Ben, for your outstanding support!"

Hi Carolyn this is Ian Dunlop the franchise owner. What an amazing review especially highlighting Ben and his work efforts. We are extremely proud of Ben and this is a glowing testament to the effort he puts in to help all our customers where needed and whether or not they are our ‘direct’ client. Ben is persistent in trying to help the process along and supporting the transaction through to the end. It’s disappointing that you didnt experience the same effort from others but so happy that you managed to buy the property you wanted and hope you are settling in well. Thanks again , Ian

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters auction. House was listed on website and tenanted for a fixed amount of rent which I was told by the auction agent called Robert. Also house was in bad state but got told tenants don’t care so why do you. Only to find out later on that tenants have never paid anywhere near that amount and it’s so much lower. So was lied to first of all and then later to meet the tenants and for them to tell us all the work they was promised and they wanted the house fixing top to bottom. What an absolute joke and waste of time and money. Keep your money and go elsewhere they will tell you anything just to sell a house that is overpriced

We would absolutely recommend Ben, Andy and Naomi at Hunter’s - not only for the excellent service they have provided us but for the care with which they have treated us whilst selling our house. We had a stressful year and a half long process due to factors around our house. They took on a fantastic amount of viewings and, despite our house going back onto the market twice, we never had an issue finding buyers with them. Ben went above and beyond and was on top of keeping us updated and talking to solicitors. I was heavily pregnant and had a newborn throughout the most turbulent point of everything so my husband dealt with house stuff and took on all of the stress. Ben was excellent in keeping him calm and reassured, getting the information that we needed and keeping the sale going in a timely manner. He never let us down once and was so good that changing agents was never even a consideration. We would 100% recommend Hunter’s for their personalised service and will definitely be using them for future house sales (although they’ll be relieved to know that won’t be for a little while!)

Hi Joy, thanks for taking the time to submit this fantastic review for Ben. We are so proud of the regular great feedback he gets. Not all property sales go according to plan and this one sounds exceptionally challenging and I can only imagine how stressful this has been for all concerned. Therefore I am extremely proud as the franchise owner that you have enjoyed this level of service from Ben and the team here. Best wishes for you and your family in settling in and we would be delighted to help you again with a sale should you need it. Thanks again for supporting us with this fantastic review Ian Dunlop

Excellant service

Moving can be hectic, but Dulcie made it so simple with her support, prompt communication, and quick responses from the first viewing in Cullompton right through to the day I collected the keys. Rude, poor service - a must avoid for renters

Rude, get passed around from pillar to post while they try to ignore your requests or questions. Tried for years to get them to fix things but just continually fell on deaf ears. Now they're trying to claim issues are my fault which are down to shoddy contractors (which they use consistently, including at one point despite having had yearly gas checks, I get told that the previous 6 years hasn't been done properly and the build up that caused a leak was because of this. Everything is everyone's issue but theirs. Renters, avoid at all costs!

The staff in Hunters have always been very helpful and friendly when I’ve popped in. I recently rented a house through them and Kara was fantastic every step of the way. She was very prompt with getting documents across to me and responding to any questions I had, even around the Christmas period. The process couldn’t have been easier and I am very thankful for that!

Awful customer service

I remain deeply disappointed in the way my most recent complaint has been handled at their Newcastle branch. The way the branch manager speaks to tenants is appalling! If you have a complaint then don’t expect any sympathy or accountability. We have rented this property for 11 years and in that time, we have been superb tenants but sadly that doesn’t mean anything to them. I anticipate a reply to this which will more than likely attempt to completely contradict what I’ve written here but just know that our experience has not been a positive one!

Nightmare move

I used Hunters to sell my home after living there for approximately 35 years. I want to acknowledge that the sale itself was complicated and involved significant delays, including probate and Land Registry issues. Hunters did work to keep the sale progressing, and I recognise the time and effort involved in that process. However, my experience on completion day was extremely distressing. I was still in the process of removing my belongings when the buyers and members of their family arrived at the property. My family and I were placed under considerable pressure to remove a lifetime of possessions as quickly as possible. My belongings were outside and in the street, and I felt deeply embarrassed, overwhelmed and humiliated by the circumstances. I had expected the handover of my home to be handled in a calm and organised way. Instead, what should have been an important and emotional moment after 35 years in my home became one of the most distressing experiences I have ever had. I raised a formal complaint with Hunters. The agency investigated the matter and explained that they had followed their usual procedures and were not aware that the buyers intended to attend the property at that time. I appreciate that Hunters were not present at the property and therefore could not comment directly on everything that happened there. I also appreciate that the completion process itself is controlled by solicitors and that many aspects of the timing are outside an estate agent's control. However, I remain deeply upset by the way the handover unfolded and by the experience I had on the day I left my home. I believe clearer communication and better coordination of the physical move may have prevented the situation from becoming so distressing. Having considered my experience and the response to my formal complaint, I would not recommend Hunters based on my experience of the completion and handover of my property. This review reflects my personal experience and the impact the events of completion day had on me.

illegal procedures - 1 bed property Sparks Close (Terrible Agent & Terrible Landlord)

1 bed property Sparks Close, Dagenham, RM8 - Landlord and hunters agent where complicit in illegal procedures regarding discrimination. 5 years renting with no issues at all

I rented an apartment through Hunters (Otley & Ilkley) for five years and honestly had a great experience the whole time. They were always quick to reply, super easy to deal with, and sorted any issues straight away - no chasing needed. Communication with the landlord was also really smooth thanks to them. Big thanks to Donna, Libby, and Leister for being so helpful and friendly over the years. Would definitely recommend Hunters if you're looking for a letting agent you can rely on.

Not transparent, poor communication, poor customer service

1. Not transparent, even though they have a duty to disclose issues with the property once asked. When I asked why is a 2-bed in the city centre is only £995 (when I already knew the answer being ongoing construction site), they were purposely very vague. He emailed, "Regarding the prices, there are a number of factors affecting a valuation of a property which include size, conditions, time of year, building etc." 2. Get clients names mixed up and books you in for the wrong viewings. Eg. I asked to see a £995 2 bed property but they linked me to a £1300 property. I had to correct them. They also kept emailing me and calling me Chris when I said several times I am not Chris. Worrying early signs of poor communication, little to no client care. 3. Viewings are incomplete - why schedule a viewing of the property, only for me to turn up and that is when you say there is a communal laundry room but I am not allowed to view it. After the viewing I emailed back and this was their response: "The communal laundry rooms are on the stairs, one per floor. At the moment we don’t have capacity for second viewings unfortunately. I made it clear from the beginning of my enquiry that I wanted to find a quiet home to rent and no drama. Clearly, the initial contact and viewing experience already hints there will be drama, probably worse if I did sign a contract with Hunters.

My experience selling a property in the…

My experience selling a property in the UK with this agent was extremely frustrating. For over four months, they delayed the transaction. Despite my constant follow-ups, they kept giving me excuse after excuse, like mortgage problems or minor issues, saying it would happen next week. Eventually, I told them I would pull out and sell to another buyer, but Matthew insisted I still had to pay. I also want to warn people about this company, be very cautious, because in the contract, they include terms that are unfavorable to the client. Once you sign, they do very little to follow up, and you can’t even be sure if the buyer will complete the deal. Their main priority is just getting you to sign, and regardless of whether the sale happens, they still take your money. And when I tried to back out, Matthew actually threatened me, saying that if I didn’t pay, they would escalate it to other departments. I feel this is a form of intimidation.”

I am very disappointed:

I am very disappointed: After my property was managed by Brandford Hunters for around 6 years, I was suddenly charged £240 for a new rental reform bill contract and £45 plus VAT per person for AML checks. These fees were not clearly explained or agreed with me in advance. The deduction was also made from my refund before I had signed or agreed to the new contract. I feel this is unclear and unfair, especially as a long term landlord client.
