I am going to stick to the one complaint that made me put pen to paper, there are other issues with Doncaster council that I will write at a later date, this one concerns a request I put in for a walk in shower cubicle, wet room, etc, my problem is medical I have great difficulties in getting my leg up and over the side of the bath, to stand up in the so called shower! I live on my own so no help in that quarter, there is a standard bath rail on the far wall to help a healthy person to get in and out of a sit down bath I have to use that to get into the shower by stretching over, I am right handed and it is a left handed bath so I end up getting in the shower backwards! long story short, they sent two girls to assess the situation one about 16 the other 20s? they needed proof and wanted me to perform on a bath board!!! I have a shower curtain and there is no way of preventing the shower water from flooding my bathroom floor and the fact I have to stand up to operate the shower but they insisted they needed proof, at this point I was deeply humiliated in being patronised of my needs and told them to forget it, I can't help the way I feel so they left, in this instance on their part common sense did not prevail, one constellation finally after 5 years of asking I have an apointment for a plummer (in two months time) to fix a leaky tap LOL. PS The reason I put in this request is, that I have fallen twice in the shower the last time my leg was trapped underneath me pressed tight up against the side of the bath, after getting over the shock about 2 hours I managed to get over the side of the bath and crawl to my bedroom.

Called Doncaster council today 11/2/26…

Called Doncaster council today 11/2/26 spoke to an advisor at 11.56am, waited for over 20 minutes to discuss an arrears message. I had a direct debit set up for the last year from moving in, I was nice to the advisor, he was unbelievably rude and impatient. He was not nice at all, after waiting 20 minutes I just asked for some guidance, he treated me as if I refused to my bill which I didn’t, I just asked for further explanation. It’s an awful system, I’m an advisor myself i calls every single day and I have never spoke to a customer like that. No DPA asked on call, nothing he just got rid of me as quick as possible, while I understand it’s a difficult job as I do it myself daily. It is genuinely shocking to have been spoken to like absolute trash by someone who paid to be there.

Totally ignore appeals

My disabled partner put out a cigarette on the ground, and picked it up and put it in the bin, she was then pounced on by an enforcement officer who said it didn't matter that she put it in the bin because the intent was there. I was not there so I need to see the bodycam evidence from the council to understand how to proceed with this matter. I have requested this twice and I have been totally ignored. It is almost 3 weeks now and after 28 days the fine increases to £150. So thank you caring Labour Doncaster council, however we will be taking this matter all the way to court. Doncasters streets are some of the filthiest in the Country with no attempt to clean them.

It is a shame for " THE CITY of…

It is a shame for " THE CITY of Doncaster " That there is NO SINGLE CHILDMINDER to do drop offs and pick ups from Central School Atlas Academy! There is many childminders around but not even one in the City Centre!! Such a shame for Doncaster Council who requested a City Status, but can't even provide a help needed. There must be done some improvements in this area as it is a City right ? !

Trying to complain about council workers

Trying to complain about an idiot council worker trying to force myself and dogs off the path on Townfields @ 08:50 Friday 20th December. All I got was abuse because he stated his truck was not allowed to go on the grass. Yet expected pedestrians and there was quite a few to move out of his way including women pushing prams. This is an ongoing problem. He then proceeded to move at speed with little regard to pedestrians and churned up the grass. Totally idiot and should not hold a UK driving licence.

I would like to thank the council for the fantastic waste of money that they have managed on the traffic calming on brecks lane kirk sandall. I wonder how many pot holes they could of filled. I'm sure if they asked the locals which they would of prefer, the pot holes would of won hands down. I was surprised that a cycle path didn't find its way there as well.

Poor environmental department

This review includes only the environmental department concerning noise reporting.A very disorganised, uncoordinated and clueless department. To call through, is hit or miss but more often than not an unanswered call. The callout times suffer from a lack of enough callout officers and depending on where you live can take upto 2 hours to have someone come out. Each environmental officer has a different set of rules, opinions, procedures from the next, complicating an already stressful situation. One officer for example, may see a noise as a legitimate nuisance where a different officer may see the same noise as not a nuisance. They apparently operate on an opinion basis rather than a set of written guidance and rules in each investigation making an unfair judgement be very possible.On a personal experience, I have been dealing with a noise nuisance now for over two years, and has yet to be successfully dealt with still to date. This particular noise nuisance has been reported by numerous neighbours also. Yet it continues, causing excessive stress and anxiety. To use this service provided by Doncaster council must be approached with the knowledge that whatever your situation, it may take a very, very long time to resolve, if ever. Be prepared for a lack of compassion, a lack of care and a lack of consideration. Be prepared to suffer further annoyances. Be prepared to be let down, time after time. It would be much more advisable to try to take immediate legal action if a noise nuisance is affecting your life.

Doncaster has the worst performing…

Doncaster has the worst performing council in England - how embarrassing . This shows time and again by what appears to be the same people from st ledger and council who mistreat the public . Shocking way in which public are spoken to on telephones, threatening nasty letters sent out totally unjustified. Bullying, and untruthful . My advice for anyone dealing with them is ensure you have all communication in writing, have everything recorded and evidence communication to protect yourselves. Doncaster. Council employees you are not above the law and can be made accountable and responsible for their actions. A new citizens advice is required to enable the public to have access to free legal assistance to end the many cases of mistreatment by certain council employees, it is a shame also for the good employees there that they are lumbered with a dysfunctional group destroying Doncaster council. The sooner the bad eggs are sacked the better. You are paid by the public to do a public service you are not there to bully, intimidate, lie, mis use, or abuse the public. This council was so bad it was put in special measures , are you going ( back) in those measures ? And what are you doing about your rogue staff chief executive ??? Paid 168000 plus per year to run this council which is once again dripping into special measures.

I have not visited Doncaster town sorry…

I have not visited Doncaster town sorry I should say city center for many years so on return last month when I met up with an old friend. The difference between how it used to be and how it is now is one that makes me sad and very angry . when I went to college (where it use to be in the waterdale) and might I say in my opinion much better had a vibrant feeling to it students helped cash flow in shops and cafes through the bad times in the 80s and 90s the central library was so full of students you had to reserve tables for study it was that busy then of course there was st James swimming baths where before or after college one could enjoy the facilities of a proper vintage pool . The town center was such a busy place you had trouble finding a car park space . Then there buses which brought coach loads of people to do their shopping as it was quite rightly recognized that in South Yorkshire Doncaster was the best In fact the whole of Doncaster town center then had a energy which is certainly absent which I don’t think will ever return judging by the number of vacant shops why Doncaster council chose to put their eggs all on one basket so to speak and centralize

If you gave them a business

If you gave them a business, it would be bankrupt within a week, in Elmfield park, there is a small bungalow, which use to be for the park keeper, when he left it was in perfectly good condition, it is now destroyed, this is the mindset of Doncaster council, everything they touch turns to ruin. In Hyde Park about 10 years ago, they sent a letter around, saying, if you do not have your rubbish bin out on the correct day, we will take it away, so one Sunday 2 lorries turned up, and took away 50 bins approx, on my road alone. since that day there has been a massive rubbish tipping problem in the area, its like at school when the teacher says be good or we will take your toys off you, thats how they see the public, naughty children, now they have to pay workmen to clear the alleys every week, employ someone to come and take pictures of the rubbish and put yellow tape around it ,saying crime scene, and send endless letters to the community about fly tipping

Think twice before visiting 😷

I’ve lived in Doncaster all my life and it’s getting worse. The smell and filth in and around the centre is disgusting. The only clean area is where the council offices are, the rest of the town and surrounding area is filthy and stinks to high heaven. I walk into to town(only if I absolutely have to) using st Mary’s bridge and regularly pass people smoking cannabis while pushing prams. This is apparently acceptable in Doncaster. The antisocial behaviour is just accepted in and around the villages of Doncaster, I know this as I’ve reported illegal motorcycles being ridden up and down playing fields on numerous occasions and the problems remains. If you’re planning a visit to Doncaster, I’d go to York or Lincoln instead.
