GoogleI have used the Daventry Letting Team of Howkins & Harrison Daventry for some years for their professionalism in dealing with potential clients and they have always found me excellent tenants. Their attention to detail is thorough and Nicole Ashenden has been most helpful in keeping me informed. I would highly recommended them to anyone needing a Letting Agent.

GoogleWe tried to rent a house together as brothers, and despite making it clear we are family, not unrelated sharers, the letting agent refused to take our details or consider us as joint tenants, saying they don’t allow sharers. It’s misleading and unprofessional to treat two siblings as “sharers” when UK housing definitions generally consider family members living together as one household. This left us confused and unable to progress our rental search. The agent gave no clear, lawful reason, just repeated refusal to engage properly. If you’re a family looking for a place together, be aware that this agency may misapply its own policies and potentially misinterpret basic housing law. I do not recommend them based on this experience.

I've used Howkins and Harrison 3 times now, twice when purchasing and once when selling. Throughout all of those transactions, David and Jamie in Northampton have been completely fair and proactive in chasing things up. None of them at the branch exhibit any of the stereotypical estate agent vibes, which is what made me go with them above all else when selling. I had a few agents to value and one of them tried to push me into signing with pretty underhand tactics. Jamie just came for a chat, explained how he would do things and was upfront with what was good and bad about the house, and anything that could cheap and easily be remedied. Throughout the selling process, my buyers have had some things they wanted changing, or the agreed price altering - Jamie and David were brilliant at being fair and sitting in the middle, ensuring it was as fair as possible on both sides. Most people you talk to (including me with most other agents!) come out of the house purchase/sale process feeling like the estate agents have done very little for their comission, but with Howkins and Harrison I always feel they have earned it, and the deal wouldn't have happened anywhere near as easily without them. Would thoroughly recommend and will be using them again the next time I come to sell.

We met Lisa Swinnerton from the Atherstone branch after seeking a new letting agent following a bad experience with another company. She has been amazing since the start. Lisa is efficient and just a few days after the property was advertised she had viewings and she put forward several prospective tenants. Once we had made our decision she has ensured all checks complete, tenancy agreement signed, inventory complete and a move in date sorted.Lisa has kept us up to date the entire process and I feel so happy that she and the team at Howkins and Harrison are managing the letting of my property.

We’ve been with Howkins and Harrison now for over 3 years and we do owe a lot to them in finding the perfect house to rent. At a time of desperate need during COVID they found us a house which to this day has been so far the best we’ve lived in. Any problems or issues with the house are never a trouble or problem, at times I feel a bit of a pain as 1 thing goes in the house and other problems seem to follow but they are quick to reply and get on top of whatever that problem is. A special shout out to Nicole Ashenden from the Daventry Lettings Team for her prompt, kind replies. All those who work in the Daventry office are there to help you by always being at the end of an email or phone call.

Drew Stewart of Northampton did an excellent job of looking at the bigger picture and quickly resolving an internal H&H issue, finding a solution to the main issue and apologising to myself and the previous tenants. I was told that (a team member) tried to get extra rooms painted which i hadn’t requested which caused delays and upset the previous tenant and myself. This should never have happened in the first place, if H&H had been looking after my house properly then the issue wouldn’t have been there in the first place. Thank you Drew for understanding and being professional about this and keeping me updated daily. Nice one, you get 5 Stars. Hope H&H sales team becomes as dynamic as you at selling my property.

I called up and got an appointment to view the house within 2 days and when showing us around the property she explained everything to us from council tax banding, deposit scheme and move in dates etc. we had a quick response time to emails and questions. I spotted a property on Leicester Road in Lutterworth that looked perfect for what I was looking for. I had arranged a viewing, but due to heavy rain on the day, I decided to reschedule as I didn’t feel it would be fair on the sellers to show me around the property in such poor weather.
We are sorry to hear that you feel disappointed with your experience. We keep detailed records and from these records we could see there have been occasions over the past 12 months where you have not attended viewings which are confirmed by text and/or email. On appointments we wait a respectable amount of time to allow for traffic and unforeseen circumstances and made attempts to contact you but did not receive a reply. It is our responsibility to act in the best interest of our sellers at all times particularly when they invest their time getting their property ‘viewing ready’. Your viewing history was provided to our vendor for them to make an informed decision. On this occasion our vendor decided to decline your viewing. While we appreciate this was not the outcome you were hoping for, we respect and act upon our client's instructions. We wish you every success in finding a suitable property.

I have rented through Howkins and Harrison for almost two years. From start to finish their staff have been fabulous! Everything was dealt with quickly and efficiently and nothing was ever too much trouble. The letting agent, Lisa Swinnerton, always went above and beyond to make sure my first renting experience in over twenty years wasn’t too scary and I can’t thank her enough. I hope not to need to rent again in the future but, should I need to, I would definitely return to this agents.

This second time renting through Howkins & Harrison and I have remained impressed by how quick and efficient they work. Evie Kondracki has been very professional while still being approachable and I could always reach her if I had any queries. From the initial viewing until the signing of contracts, it only took a bit over a week and I could move into the new property early which was amazing. Drew Stewart at Howkins & Harrison has successfully negotiated contracts on my behalf with the previous landlord. He was professional, approachable and helpful.
