GoogleAwful experience with Marcus Grimes &Co.
I rented a property through Marcus Grimes, Cuckfield.
It took months to get windows and boiler fixed while I was there. I spent last winter with a window flying open in the wind and a water heater that didn't work properly.
Toilet seat was also in need of replacement which was never done.
When it came time to leave, I asked if I could end the lease 3 weeks early to which they responded no. Fine, I understand. But then they wanted me to hand over the keys and get full access to the property for viewings. That's a bit cheeky.
I spent a full day cleaning the 1 bedroomed flat before I left. Not because it was dirty but because I am a bit of a neat freak. I left the property SPOTLESS. Better than when I moved in. I had replaced the shower hose and fixed cupboards that were broken when I moved in. All just because I like a neat, clean place to live in.
One particular point was the oven. The owner left greasy baking trays and rubber baking sheets in the oven. This was ignored when I moved in but I still cleaned the oven to a very high standard before I left. Even though I never use the oven and this was the owners mess.
They now want to charge me £170 to clean the oven and are complaining about "scuffs" in a very old, worn wooden bowl that was full of keys.
Pathetic attempts to try make it look like I didn't take care of the property which in fact was in spotless, better than before condition when I moved out.
I have asked for photos of these particular items showing their spotless, perfect condition but they cannot provide any because that simply wasn't the case.
I find the check out procedure very lacking and untruthful. They seem to think that tenants just have to roll over and do whatever they say.
I would never recommend these people.

GoogleThe service I have received from Marcus grimes is awful, they are quick to get back to me via email but I have alot that needs to be fixed at the property I am in and no matter how many times i contact them to get these fixed nothing gets sorted,
I've had a bird stuck up my chimney breast they ignored the fact it was trapped and needed help, I also have 2 children under the age of 5. My kitchen tap has been broken for 2 weeks I've contacted Marcus grimes a few times and still nothing so I can't use it I could go on with the list of things that need sorting. If only I could withhold my rent but I had to pay a year upfront £18,500 and this is the service I get.
