Not even worth 1 star

Not even worth 1 star, they have advertised our house for nearly 12 months, we have had viewings where people have come to the house only to find out whb have advertised the house at one time Β£50000 less than we asked, and today at Β£25000 less than we asked, Jessie who is the "senior sales" is rude, unhelpful, talks over you won't listen, and blames everything on us, absolute diabolical , my wife assures me that she didnt drop the price but "jessie " is adamant we did, Rude , incompetent and useless about sums them up, think twice before using them

Tenancy service

I have been in touch with Sequence the home tenancy team that are there to make sure all runs smoothly. Since moving into my house 1 month ago, I have yet to have a washing machine. I reported it and have had to chase, chase and chase again to get an answer about what is happening. When calling, I always ask for someone to give me feedback but that doesn't happen. Would not recommend this service at all.

Do not sell with WHBrown

I asked WHBrown to remove my property from the market within the 14 day cancellation period, that was 2 months ago and I am still waiting for it to be removed despite having emailed and called more times than I can remember. The reason for wanting to take my property off the market is because they did an awful job with the advert and after I kept asking them to change stuff they either didn't do it or only changed 5% of what I asked. The pictures are bad and floor plan isn't 100% correct. Once you sign that contract they basically don't want anything to do with you.

Have been buying property in cromer and surrounding area for many years and have used them during a purchase once previously - at that time we found them most unhelpful - even awkward at times which we thought was totally wrong and unprofessional way to run a business. We have recently been looking for another property in cromer and came across one which they were advertising - this appeared on rightmove and their own website. I made an appointment for a viewing for this week knowing I would be travelling over 100 miles from my home to Norfolk, the advert then disappeared from all websites and so I rang wh brown who confirmed my appointment would still go ahead and that they were having problem with advertising some of their properties on the internet / I found this very unusual but confirmed I did not want to drive all that way and not see the property. The chap on the phone assured me this would not happen / I made the journey the night before but at 9.00am in the morning I got a call from my husband saying wh brown had called to cancel the appointment as the property had been sold the day before! He said he had not been in the office so I don’t understand why someone else could not have taken the time to let me know. We will never look at any other properties with this company again even if they were to be selling our dream home ! Beware of this unprofessional Set up .

I had my property up for sale with William H Brown, Cromer. After a year of it not selling, I decided to try another agent. I called up to give notice and the Manager Pete tried to talk me out of it. I said it's nothing you've done wrong as an agent but I need to try something else. He was extremely arrogant and unhelpful. I gave notice in May and despite calls emails, he refused to take it off the market. Everytime I called, he was 'in a meeting, and he wouldn't respond to emails. I managed to deal with a young girl there who was helpful and tried her best to resolve it. Finally after two months, my property was removed from their listings. I am extremely annoyed to have since received a letter from their legal team saying I'll be liable for costs if I sell my property to a company who they've negotiated with. They clearly haven't and I chose to use another agent. William H Brown are very unprofessional and the Manager needs customer service training. Clearly the number of people using them is dropping and they want to retain customers, but being rude and awkward is not the way to do it.

Appalling & unlawful practice

I wish I had read other reviews before renting from them. They tried to deceive me, blame me for their errors and sent threatening emails asking me to take the financial burden for their remarkable lack of professionalism and unlawful practice. They messed up my contract, which they acknowledged in writing, however afterwards they refused that they did so. I ended up seeking legal advice to ensure protection of my rights as a customer and as it seems they conducted several legal violations. I believe this company should be seriously investigated. No one, landlord or tenant should go through the financial and emotional distress I went through because of their misconduct.

The agent assigned to us was creepy...

The agent assigned to us was creepy and aggressive. When we first went to look at properties he asked if we’d agree to sit in our car to talk while avoiding the rain. He then led us to HIS car (one with no back doors) and essentially trapped us there while we signed the papers. When we raised questions he went into a long, uninterruptible spiel about how William H Brown are different to other estate agents because they deal with β€˜people like us’ and how if we didn’t accept this offer we could end up in a situation where we had to abandon our pets (?). He then proceeded to call me (and not my male partner) constantly during work hours, trapping me in conversation for half hours at a time and trying to upsell insurance.I seriously hope that this is not behaviour encouraged by the company, and once we are moved in I plan to make a formal complaint.

THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT YOUR MONEY NOT YOU

The agency doesn't care about you or your financial problems. Especially if you're not British, they will always call you to pay the rent (if something unexpected happens) every day depsite if you got studies or work even though they can see clearly you've always been paying the rent. Doesn't bother to fix anything. Horrible attitude and clearly talks with you as if you are an dumb immigrant. Continuous attempt to trespass to your property because "they can" even thought by law they need to get tenants permission to do so or at least warn about the visit day before not couple hours beforehand. This agency hasn't attempted to fix anything and if you try mention how it took 4-6years to "fix" the walls, replace carpet in the kitchen with an actual wooden floor, they will say "no excuses will prevent you from paying the rent" or "not our problem sorry". Basically for the amount of money you pay for the rent you won't get anything in return because that's how greedy they are.Stop mistreating people from EU. Stop being a racist, dysfunctional agency and get a grip that some people get financial issues. Don't just ignore us with your pathetic attitude. You are a greedy, scummy agency that does not deserve to be distributed across UK.

William h brown - Barking

Saw the estate agents mentioned in an evening standard article about affordable London property and googled the office. Was difficult to find parking but tube was close. Got shown 4 properties which matched our criteria and budget and ended up bidding and buying the 2nd one. Initially dealt with the manager Geoff, but Luke did almost all our legwork. They were really friendly and their advice turned out to be the best we had, helping us to buy within budget.

'0' communication from this company

If I could rate our experience with this estate agency in Lincolnshire, it would have to be -0, they never answer their phones or any messages left on their answerphones .... to date after 3 days we have still not received a phone call from them re booking some viewings...luckily we found another agent in the area who were very good and who we bought our home from ...

Do not use this company

Do not use this company! The list why would be too long, but they would include: rarely return a call; lost my front door key after saying they didn't have one (it was found later, in a drawer in the office); asked if the letting was going OK and would I think of selling - it WAS with them for sale; moved to a different office and they at first insisted on a new contract, later agreeing that this was an error on their part; only one viewing (that WE had to arrange!) over a 15 month period; decided to withdraw from them and a month has gone but they still haven't collected their sign - phoned and emailed but no return of communication. Basically, an incompetent company who seem not to care at all about 'service'. Avoid like the plague.

William H Brown Estate Agents

William H Brown Estate Agents, a place that that lies at your face.... In my case, stating that there is a phone line in the building you are about to rent and when you move in you discover that there are no phone cables at al............. you make your own conclusions.A place that leaves you with a blocked fire exit for over a month. Maybeeeee they will fix it after the visit of a Fire Officer....A place that recommends you to leave your rubbish rotten in a room in the building corridors for over a week, and that charges you if having some not "domestic" rubbish.....It is not my case, but there are comments in the Sequence UK Facebook page about problems in getting the deposit back. More than one. I hope it won't be my case....

This has been severely delayed by illness but has to be said

This has been severely delayed (by a year) but still needs to be said.I would like to congratulate you on the more than excellent service we have received from all of the team at the Kelvedon branch of William H Brown, none more so than the Manager, Spencer Barlett. We were going to use an online estate agent and save a considerable amount until Spencer came round to see us. He convinced us that his service was a better way forward and thankfully in retrospect we agreed albeit doubting that the much higher cost was worth it.We had solar panels on our roof under a rent a roof scheme and this proved to be a very difficult obstacle to overcome. Spencer has taken all of the multiple curved balls these have thrown with utter professionalism. He has remained honest with us at all times and offer a solution for us to agree to. I do not feel that he would have spent more time with a client had their house been four times the value of ours. All of his team have also given an excellent service to us along with the same welcoming greeting to phone calls or office visits and we have never been made to feel either like an unwelcome interruption or worse a money machine.

Customer Service is non existent.

Customer Service is non existent.Norfolk branch I handed my keys to Landlady on day of Inventory... Phoned one week later to enquire about my deposit.Oh we weren't told you'd left!!!Where did they think I'd been living in the mean time?Nearly three years of asking about getting an outside light fixed as pitch black. They didn't even bother to tell me I had my own off-road parking space. Total lack if customer satisfaction when don't call or email you when they say they will whereas you're out of pocket waiting for them to pull their fingers out. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

arranged to meet someone from William H Brown to view a property. The experience has put me off and i feel sorry for the seller because they are not doing their best for that customer. The man who met us didn't even introduce himself. He just unlocked the door and we went in. He knew absolutely nothing about the property when we asked him questions and didn't know which garage belonged to the property. My husband and i agreed that his whole demeanor was like he couldn't be bothered and didn't want to be there. No one has bothered phoning us to ask how the viewing went either. Very poor.

WARNING ⚠️ DO NOT USE We placed our house on the market with these in 2017 we didn’t have one viewer and they were not interested in selling our house. We unwittingly signed a sole agent contract and didn’t know anything about it after being pressured into signing. When we told them we didn’t want them to market our house anymore they sent us letters from Connell solicitors demanding we paid them over Β£2000. Now 18 months after they are still demanding Β£2000 for something they never did.

Don’t do it!

Don’t do it! One of the worst agents I have ever used! They charge high commission and tie you in for 5 months! But fail to mention that at sign up. One member of staff was very rude in her manner. They don’t ring you to keep you updated, most other agents ring you weekly with an update, not them. I didn’t hear for 3 weeks and I had to constantly ring them. They have staff with little experience in selling houses. My advice go with someone else!
