TrustpilotRecent valuation
I recently had a valuation carried out by Steve Mather, from previous experience I wasent full of confidence with Connells however Steve did a superb job , he hit the nail on the head with the valuation and the rent figures and it was exactly what was put forward, I wish more surveyors where like Steve. I hope he gets this feedback and I hope I get him again on future projects. 10/10

This is the worse most unprofessional low class company I’ve had the misfortune to deal with in 50 years. They will do absolutely anything to wriggle and negate any responsibility when things go wrong, which they will I assure you.. do yourself a favour and steer well clear . They don’t deserve one star, the higher up the chain you go the more incompetent it gets. Awful, terrible service. I spoke to the police about the incident and the Seargent said “ oh they’re terrible , we’ve had problems.”

TrustpilotI loved the property on their site
I loved the property on their site, I asked for viewings on 31 ist of January, I was asked to view the property on a Saturday 05 of February, the key lock wasn't working I was asked to go back and view on 12th of February, after viewing we were told that we would get a phone call with landlords approval or not, then I got a phone call from the Connels, asking me how much I was gonna give to them i told the the price, and if it was long therm wich I agreed. No phone call from the Landlords approval or denial, I called the Connels twice on 12th and 13th of February, her colleagues told me: the first time the lady how show us flat was busy, the second time she was out, on 14th of February I checked the site and the Status was "let agreed "; later i was told that the flat was given to someone else. No common sense from the Connels to tell us the good or bad news before their changed the flat status on Google and let's find out this way.No common sense from the ConnelsI was wondering let agreed by whom?

TrustpilotDisappointing Experience with Connells Estate Agency
Unfortunately there is no option to leave no stars. Our experience with Connells Estate Agency has been disappointing and frustrating. Despite choosing to seel our house with them due to their familiarity, we encountered poor communication and unprofessionalism throughout the process. From inaccurate advice provided by their mortgage advisor which led to delays and unnecessary stress and wasting money on our part, to feeling pressured to accept offers from investors, it became clear that our interests as clients were not prioritised. Despite assurances, the agency failed to address our concerns effectively, leaving us with a lack of confidence in their reliability and credibility. Overall, if you want to have a stress free, professional sale DO NOT choose Connells to present your home to the market!

TrustpilotMortgage advisor
I went to get a mortgage in principle. After discussing and giving all my intimation, I didn’t hear anything from the company. I kept sending emails, and phone calls to the office multiple times. Every time I was told that someone would get back to me but nobody never got back. Incredible how such a company can even exist with such employees.

TrustpilotPoor service letting a property.
Just watched a investigation by panorama on connells estate agents which was very concerning, highlighting the company dishonesty. I went to connells in kingswood Bristol to let out a property. The letting agent seem to know what he was doing. Definitely had the talk but unfortunately did not have the walk. When he posted the property on rightmove website. The photographs of the property were horrendous!!! The photos were so blurry and poor they looked like a 10 year old had taken them. No video as promised. As soon as I seen them, I demand they be taken down before futher damage was done. I was assured this would corrected. When chasing them up the next day I discovered they had replaced the photographs with ones I had taken myself and doing up the property. They failed at the most basic and crucial part of advertising the property. I would advoid this company and also watch the tv investigation on connells. Advoid at all cost unless your happy to be taken for a ride.

TrustpilotBullied & Lied To!
Against my better judgement, I was persuaded to sell my house with Connells. It was the worst decision I made. One particular staff member was aggressive and bullied me throughout the whole time. They were only on the buyers side and did not help me at all. We were manipulated and lied to, and what is a stressful experience was made even more so by that staff members actions. I was on the point of a breakdown by the time we moved. I will never use Connells again, and would advise people to stay well clear.

TrustpilotConnells Falsified my Valuation Report!
Connells did valuation report on my house recently. It is a comedy of errors by this company. Firstly, they tried to falsify my report by adding that my property was in a flood area and had previously been flooded. All of which was proven to be incorrect and instead of altering the valuation report to suit this they refuse.

TrustpilotTime Wasters
I booked in to view at property with Connells on Saturday at 11am. I arrived 5-10 minutes early, after a long journey and waited for the agent to arrive. When no-one turned up, I called the office twice but there was no answer, so I left a message. I eventually had to give up waiting as I had viewings booked in with another agency.

We are absolutely disgusted with the way this situation has been handled. We placed a deposit on a park home in good faith, fully expecting that we would be kept informed of any deadlines or time scales relating to the sale. The park manager had apparently relayed a time frame to the estate agent, yet this crucial information was never passed on to us.

TrustpilotTitle: Mixed Experience with Connells Property and Agent Harriete Ward
Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)I recently had the opportunity to work with Connells Property, with Harriet Ward as my agent. My experience with Connells had its ups and downs, and I feel it's important to provide an honest review to help potential clients make informed decisions.Let's start with the positive aspects of my experience:Positive Points:Good Communication: Harriet Ward displayed commendable communication skills throughout the process. She promptly responded to emails and calls, ensuring I was always in the loop regarding the progress of my property transaction. This was greatly appreciated and helped alleviate some of the stress associated with property dealings.Outstanding Assistance with Queries: Harriete went the extra mile to assist with my numerous queries and questions. Her willingness to address my concerns, no matter how trivial they may have seemed, made me feel valued as a client. However, there were certain negative aspects that marred my experience:Negative Points:Procedures Left Until the Last Minute: One significant drawback was the tendency to leave crucial procedures until the very last minute. This lack of proactive planning left no room for addressing potential hurdles or issues that could have been resolved with more time. It created unnecessary stress and uncertainty, which could have been avoided with better organization and foresight.Inadequate Property Cleaning: When I moved into the property, I was disappointed to find that it had not been cleaned properly. This oversight was unexpected and frustrating, as I had expected a higher level of attention to detail. Having to clean the property myself upon moving in was an inconvenience that should not have occurred. In conclusion, my experience with Connells Property and Harriet Ward as my agent was a mixed one. While Harriet displayed excellent communication skills and was always there to assist with my questions, there were notable issues with last-minute procedures and the cleanliness of the property upon moving in. If Connells can address these shortcomings and improve their procedural efficiency, it would significantly enhance the overall client experience.I hope this review helps potential clients make an informed decision when choosing Connells Property and their agent, Harriet Ward, for their property needs.

TrustpilotAvoid!!!!!!!!!!!
Recommend this company is avoided! After my dad passed away, the agreement was terminated, Connells were aware of the circumstances yet this company continued to advertise our property without consent! 2 months later a letter was received to both my parents advising that the agreement was to expire 6 weeks later. When challenged it was advised that the letter was automated yet they didn’t recognise their own reference. If an agreement has already been terminated why are we receiving automated letters containing incorrect information. The Branch Manager was conveniently always unavailable when visiting the shop! This experience is getting 1star as I wasn’t given the option review with no stars !

TrustpilotFor your sanity, safety, & financial security - STAY CLEAR!
For your sanity, safety, and financial security, please stay WELL CLEAR of Connells. Here are some reasons: 1. Dangerous Houses: We rented a house through them for 12 months while the sale of our property is going through and we look to purchase elsewhere. On moving in, we found the boiler to be leaking oil and was unusable - the air was absolutely filled with noxious fumes and we both had blood coming from our noses. Being pregnant, we couldn’t move in for weeks until it was all fixed. We still have not received recompense for this.2. Incompetent & Threatening: The landlord requested that we change the bank to which we make payments, which we immediately did. Connells then began issuing us with CCJ threats - and would not stop, despite them knowing we were paying our rent. While they eventually apologised, this caused a lot of stress given we were about to embark on a new mortgage and that this would affect our credit rating. 3. Inhumane and breach of covenant of ‘quiet enjoyment’: We have a rental agreement for another six month for this property, however the landlord wishes to sell it. Needless to say, no one wants to buy the place when there’s an active tenancy for another SIX MONTHS. However, someone has requested to do a viewing next week - on the very day our baby arrives. Up to now, we’ve said that viewings are possible if pre-arranged (which is not incumbent on a tenant to do and was us being kind), but have always been very clear that September and October were 100% out - this was agreed well in advance with Connells and the landlord. Tenants pay a lot in rent and part of those terms is a right to ‘quiet enjoyment’ of their property. At no time is this right more sacrosanct than during those first precious months with a newborn, and for me while recovering from major surgery. Personally, I’m not even having my family to visit until November, so to have strangers walking around my home while I’m remembering how to breastfeed, the baby and I are trying to sleep, midwives are changing dressings etc. is filling me with horror and dread. I would have thought in this day and age everyone would understand this. Both Connells and the landlord originally said ‘of course’ to this stipulation, but now they are going back on their agreement and have said viewings must continue. So the fact that we are now having to prepare for someone to view our home rather than the arrival of our child gives you a taste of the kind of agency they are! The correspondence we received about it yesterday told me that I need to ‘stay in the bedroom’ in the attic, as if I belong in a Brontë novel, or should somehow feel ashamed of new motherhood. So, to conclude, if you are thinking to sell with Connells, please think again, their level of competence means I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole.If you are thinking of viewing a house with Connells, expect to encounter tearful tenants banished to attics who are in no position to have strangers look around their homes - you will not be welcome! And, most crucially, if you are looking to rent with Connells, expect dangerous houses, no privacy, breach of agreements, and potential life-long consequences to your financial security!

TrustpilotA grotesque monument to professional incompetence.
In all my experience living and working in India and UK, I can confidently say that I have never come across an establishment as incompetent as Connells. Connells was my letting agency during the time I lived in Coventry (2 years). In order to truly understand how diabolical this company is, I have to preface my review by saying that my landlords were absolutely wonderful people. Conversely, they have told us that we were very easy to deal with, partly because we communicated well via whatsapp and emails about all the nonsensical shenanigans Connells pulled off on a bimonthly basis, and partly because they have had their share of bad experiences with short term renting by college students. It is fair to say that my housemate and I had a relatively decent tenancy DESPITE of Connells and in no way because of them. At every single stage of the tenancy Connells did things that inconvenienced us and the landlords. Right from the beginning, Joe (Joseph Villiers-Dunn), who showed us the property, clearly had never seen the house or had ever been inside. He kept waffling on about the size of the rooms and what sort of furnishing it had, getting almost every detail wrong. The wallpapers were peeling off at two locations which were highlighted, and Joe gave us "his word" that all of that would be taken care of by the time we move in. The wallpapers were never fixed in the two years we lived there. The front and back garden were completely overgrown. Joe again gave us his word that it will all be cleared up by the time we moved in. They weren't. We would find out later on that none of our concerns were ever intimated to the landlords. Once we established direct contact with the landlords, everything at the property were taken care off promptly. Fortunately, we never had to deal with Joe after we signed our contract since all our attempts to contact him were met with zero response. He replied once when I asked him about switching power suppliers (which he told he would help us with before signing the contract). The reply was basically "find it out yourself, here's the website". From then on our ordeal was perpetrated by Rebecca Walsh and Gemma Plant, two property coordinators who were quite literally competing with each other at who can be more incompetent. My visa renewal got delayed by around a week and a half because Ms. Plant couldn't be bothered to reply to my emails asking her information about the landlords' address and phone number. The silver lining was that once we got the contact details, we started dealing directly with the landlords for any issues surrounding the property, and thereafter everything was smooth. Connells did show up sporadically with some comically inept nonsense just to remind us that they were still around. For instance, Rebecca Walsh emailed us about conducting an annual inspection. I told her a convenient date and she agreed on it. The day comes and Ms. Walsh is nowhere to be found. I got off work early to be present at the property, and she never showed. Two days later, lo and behold, Ms. Walsh sends me an email starting off with "This is our second chase...". The absolute audacity to blame her no-show on me was quite frankly inspiring levels of Uno Reverse Card in real life. Connells also has the habit of asking us for documents and then completely forgetting that we have already provided said documents. One of these instances were our visa documents which were necessary for fulfilling "right to rent" regulations with the Home Office. I have email chains that went on sporadically for weeks where they ask us for the documents, we send them same, and everything is seemingly taken care of. A few months later we receive an ominous email that our right to rent has expired and they would have to report us to the Home Office. The emails stated "As this requested information has not been forthcoming....". We literally went to the Connells office in person with our visas and passports, they scanned the documents in front of us and filed them. Yet, the documents never reached the main office. Guess who scanned our documents that day. One Ms. Rebecca Walsh, property coordinator extraordinaire. Please unerstand that the details I have provided here are simply the tip of the iceberg. I cherish the day we finally moved out and realized we never would have to email Connells ever again in our lives. Every once in a while when things look bleak, I go back to the email threads with Connels to remind myself that there worse things in life. At least I am not dealing with a bunch of estate agents who quite frankly do not seem to have the ability to, at the very least, be polite about their awfulness. Connells stand as a monument to incompetence in real estate which is a field that is well populated by awful establishments.

We were looking to rent and found a property we liked with Connells. The pace at which things were sorted was just dreamy. Within a few days, paper work was done and we literally move into the property within that week!! I can’t thank Adam and Ambre enough for their kindness and understanding. They really went out of their way to sort things out for us. I remember Ambre having to come in early to hand over the keys so that the packers could start early and Adam also had to stay in late for some paperwork to be done on time. Kudos to the fantastic team! Highly recommended.

TrustpilotGreat team in Watford Office
Recently bought our first home through Connells Watford branch, and cannot praise them enough. There were issues with their partner legal services, but Brandon from the Watford office was on hand and helped to ensure the process was as smooth as possible. At every step of the way, he was available and provided information guiding us through the process, explaining in detail exactly what we could expect and how we could manage it.Towards the end of the process, the legal side required lots of witnessed signatures, which Brandon was happy to do for us on numerous occasions, and continued to explain what everything meant and how it would work. This would have been a very different (and unpleasant) experience if it wasn't for him, so Thank you Brandon for getting us through it!

TrustpilotOverall poor, bad communication and driven by viewings not sale
My property was listed in September, I had offers but was not entirely happy with the risk of one, though went with the advise of their branch manager. The communication and info was pretty poor, which ultimately led to the buyer pulling out in Feb, right when my offer on buying a house was agreed. Up to this point their performance was somewhat excusable, but Connells then seemingly chucked any random through my house without due diligence checks as to whether the viewer was in a position, or even able, to buy, which was extremely inconvenient. The feedback also showed clearly they weren't 'selling' the house, or answering questions, but this may be more a point on the viewers than the caliber of agents (who are generally pretty good though on occasion were a touch rude). This also meant I lost out on another house purchase. The past week, whilst on a training course working from home, I requested viewings to be cancelled, but Connells proceeded anyway, interrupting to a potentially detrimental result on my course. Once is bad enough but then two days later they arrived on another viewing, earlier than it even had been booked, that had also been cancelled, with my partner having just stepped out of the shower to see some random guy in my garden looking through the windows. One of these issues is excusable but not all continuously.I'd strongly advise using any other agent
