Brilliant experience with Lovell!

I’ve had the best, smooth experience with Lovell. I found the house I wanted, rang the sales team at Shawbrook Manor in Leyland and was greeted by Lisa. She was efficient, helpful, full of knowledge and absolutely lovely. Everything was organised and within a few days I had put down my reservation. Lisa has been in contact making sure I’m kept in the loop and has helped me out of hours when I needed it. Definitely a positive experience so far & couldn’t fault anyone.

So far, very impressed!

I moved into my Lovell Home new build on 21st March '22.From the outset, as my first 'new build' home I was quite sceptical of the quality and workman/womanship.I was 'allowed' to view the property on two occasions prior to my reservation.Suffice to say I was suitably impressed and went ahead and purchased the property.Going through the process I had a couple of unnecessary problems with the 'Sales' dept. These in my view were entirely avoidable such as delays in registering the property with Royal Mail. This caused difficulties in obtaining house insurance, broadband etc. During one of my 'viewings', I was greeted by two of the site Managers and a Director of Lovell's. All were content to chat about the specifications of 'my' house and the plans of the site as a whole.The workmen on site are pleasant and courteous stopping briefly to chat and enquire about my thoughts on the build.What I am most impressed with is that Lovell Homes are proactive in resolving any 'snagging'.To date, I've received phone calls from a lady in Customer Care and two personal visits from the Customer Care Manager, Emma, each actively seeking my views any matters that I'd like addressing. As with any new build, and a property settles and dry's out there are to be expected.In all honesty, this I have found most encouraging.I intend to update this review as time passes as the minor issues are resovled, but so far everything is great.I should add that I have no vested interest in Lovell's or any other property developer.

Stephenson Grange Holmewood

Jo the sales advisor at the Stephenson Grange development in Holmewood is a credit to the Lovell company, she has been nothing but kind and professional every time we have met with her, and has gone above and beyond to help make the experience of buying our first home as stress free as possible. She made the reservation process enjoyable and explained everything to us so clearly which was so important to us having never gone through the house buying process before. She definitely deserves some recognition for all her hard work as she somehow manages to do all this with a smile regardless of how busy she is! (which is very, as each time we've had an appointment multiple people have turned up without appointments)

Impressive Show Homes at Blossomfields.

Caroline greeted us and after a few pleasantries we were given free access to the show homes. These were beautifully presented and it was evident a lot of thought had been given to the placement and number of power sockets to meet modern day living. The flow of the layout and the spacious bedrooms offering room for wardrobes as well as storage areas built into the design were other details that impressed. Our only issue was the lack of availability of homes that would be completed within our time frame. We left rather disappointed but decided to return a few days later to look at the Newbury 3 bed detached but finally decided on the 3 bed detached Pavenham because it better met our needs, albeit more expensive and wouldn’t be ready for several months. Caroline patiently answered all our questions and showed us all the site and individual property drawings to ensure we were entirely satisfied with our decision. She was professional and efficient throughout the reservation process. She also kindly indicated that there was a good demographic spread already among the purchasers, some with teenage children on the development that our daughter could meet. She couldn’t have been more helpful We can’t wait to get into our new home!

Only gone for 1 star as 0 is not an option. Catastrophe from start to finish. Sub contractors average at best. Site agent, good guy but the point of contact was non existent, she wasn’t contactable at all. Only point of contact I’ve ever met who’s on other jobs but leaves her phone in the office?? Shower fitted wrong, wrong holes drilled, had to then have the wall redone which then took another few days, wrong people turning up on wrong days. Painter painting over wet plaster, the morning after it had been done.

AVOID - no accountability once you've moved in

When you get the keys to you're new house, someone from Lovell will come round with you with a clipboard and note the defects down, promising to rectify the issues promptly. In our experience (which seems to be shared with a lot of people), this does not happen. Prepare to spend the next few years battling to get each issue fixed one by one. Inevitably, this will go on longer than the timeframe Lovell are obliged to sort the issues. As such, they will not get fixed.

What an amazing experience

What an amazing experience - after visiting a development with a different company and being made to feel like we were something the sales person had stepped in - we visited this development - what a contrast! We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. It was such a pleasant and smooth journey throughout from every aspect of the buying process that everybody would go through. We always tell the lovely Lovell people that how brilliant they are. So I thought I should tell the world too!I can not forget the way we were treated on the very first day! Very professional, no pressure or what so ever, ready to listen, very helpful and same time being proactive. Professionalism can be seen from each and every staff you speak with. We liked the look of the site from the beginning and eventually signed up for information online. It was very helpful and provided a number we could call. From that moment everything just flowed. We found your staff,on the telephone and in the office, to be very helpful, especially Ann Marie. Ann Marie explained everything in such a way that we had few questions and as we were first time buyers she was excellent in helping us understand the process. Sales was ok, after care very good and house great.

Sales was ok, nice people but constantly needed reminding about things you’ve asked. Sometimes ask the same question over and over to get responses. Knowledge of the home and process wasn’t to what I expected. I think sometimes I knew more details of the property than sales. Sometimes they’d also go back on their word. Whilst reserving the plot, we were told we could have the Key Worker scheme (gives up possibly £4000 towards the home?). Closer to picking our options we were told we couldn’t have this, were never eligible and wouldn’t be having it. When questioned because this was a big incentive to have the home, we had a call from a lady who I believe to be an area/regional manager. Extremely rude, arrogant and unprofessional person. Told me that if we don't want the plot that’s fine because many other people will have it without the scheme anyway. How’s she deals with customers and represents Lovell to the public I’ll never know. Site management team were ok. Site manager sometimes dismissing your views. Says something would be installed e.g a fence out front, reminded of this months later and got told we never had the conversation and that I’m basically lying. Trainee site manager and rest of the team excellent, accommodating, organised, efficient and good to deal with. Listened to your issues and got them resolved without question. The actual Lovell Customer Service team were brilliant. Couldn’t fault them. Emailing was quick, snags never questioned, always booked trades people in. Biggest issue was the trades people actually arriving. Lovell always chased this up though and didn’t happen often. House build was good. We had a snagging company come in to overlook the house and Lovell knew this whilst it was being built. Maybe more attention given because of this knowledge? Many snags found, but nothing major and said it was a good house and one of the best new build he had inspected for a while. Nothing worrying and all cosmetic. Biggest issue was the finish in painting etc. It wasn’t good. I re-painted the hallway and some other rooms myself because it would be a better finish.Turfed the garden myself. Top soil wasn’t the best, lots of debris in it which needed removing. No issues with the home has arose as of yet and we are very happy with it. The initial process of purchasing could be more “buyer friendly”, more professional, better organised and more updates given along the way. The customer service just needs improving. It feels like once you’ve bought and reserved the home the effort stops because they already have your purchase.

Beautiful Home, After-care could be better

Very well built and beautiful homes with clever planning and design. Majority of homes have very decent gardens, are not overlooked and absolutely do not feel like a copy&paste new build you can see elsewhere.Aftercare is a bit chaotic but issues do tend to be small, although the small issues can grow with the time it takes aftercare to arrange anything.

Really pleased with the workmanship…

Really pleased with the workmanship from Jordan the painter and decorator for the Eastern region. He worked really hard correcting our poorly plastered walls and paintwork in our hallway. Jordan is very thorough and has a high attention to detail. The quality of the finish has greatly improved. Thank you Jordan!
