GoogleI had a very frustrating experience with this estate agent. They said they would call me back to arrange a viewing, but I never received any follow-up. Promises were made but not kept, which was very disappointing and unprofessional. I would be cautious when dealing with them.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you feel your enquiry was not followed up.
At our agency, we pride ourselves on our customer service and make every effort to respond to every call and enquiry that reaches us. Unfortunately, as the review has been left anonymously, we’re unable to identify the specific situation or investigate what may have happened in this instance.
There may have been a valid reason why a call back did not reach you, but you should have followed-up via email or another phone call. Without further details or a name, it’s difficult for us to look into this properly.
We would have genuinely welcomed the opportunity to resolve this for you, but sadly instead you chose to go online and leave a negative unfair review.

GoogleI have been a landlady with Home and Away for many years.
I have been extremely happy with their service. I mainly work with Lorraine.
She is so organised , helpful and very quick to respond.
They are the best firm ever!
My tenants are also very pleased with the agency.
I couldn't wish for a better agency.

GoogleI had an appalling experience with Home and Away Properties that I feel compelled to share. I was scheduled for a house viewing at 10:30 AM, but unfortunately, I had to spend the night at the hospital due to my father's car accident, which was not his fault. As a medical student with a busy schedule, I called the agency to rearrange the viewing, expecting understanding and professionalism.
Instead, I was met with rudeness and complete lack of empathy from Lorraine, one of their agents. She sarcastically remarked that if I hadn’t missed the viewing, I would have had a chance to make an offer, implying that my father’s accident made me undeserving of the opportunity. Her main concern seemed to be the lost chance at the property, not the serious situation my family was facing.
Such behavior is not just unprofessional, it’s inhumane. If this is how Lorraine conducts herself, it speaks volumes about the ethos of Home and Away Properties. I strongly advise anyone, whether you're a prospective tenant or a landlord, to steer clear of this agency. Their disregard for customer service and lack of basic decency is shocking and unacceptable.

Dear Hassan, It is very sad that you have chosen to concoct a story that is far from the truth. You had made 2 applications to our office - giving 2 different stories. On the first application - it says you will be moving in with your sister, and on the second application, it stated that you would be moving in with your parents. Even though there was discrepancies in your applications and your fiances, we were still happy to book you in for the Saturday morning group viewing at 10.30am, along with 3 other applicants. At 9.45am you telephoned the office to be answered by our out of hours assistant, as our office opens at 10am. Our colleague was very sorry to hear about your fathers news, and she had said to you to please contact the office at 11.30am to see how the other viewings went and if the property was still available, we would arrange for another appointment for you.
The other 3 viewings went ahead as planned, and all 3 applicants had showed an interest in the property. Your father who was in hospital, also telephoned the office as well as yourself and you were informed that we have taken a deposit for the property and it is no longer available. You refused to accept this and became very aggressive and rude - something that was not expected from a 'medical student'
Unfortunately, in our business this is what happens when a property is popular, and whether you like it or not - this is how it is.
Further, you expected us to refuse everyone's offer to wait for you to have a viewing there and then and then decide? Also, When a property is tenanted, we cannot just turn up. we informed our tenants that we were coming at 10.30am on Saturday morning. They were then going out. Then it was the bank holiday weekend, so the first available viewing would have been Tuesday. This also ran a risk of losing the other prospective tenants that showed an interest.
Finally, we pride ourselves in great customer service, we are always at the other end of the phone - at what ever time people call us, this is why we invested in an out of hours service - so we never miss a call.
Your review is fabricated but we still wish you the very best of luck in finding your new home that meets your needs.

GoogleAvoid like the plague, they tried to steal my deposit but in the end had to return it as they had used a fraudulent document to try and justify the deduction. I won't even mention the number of other lies they fabricated at the time of my move out date. Unless you’re prepared to fight for your deposit and deal with arrogant agents, rent from somewhere else.

GoogleWent for a viewing at Maury Rd. Estate agent was passive aggressive. The flat was not in the house it was pictured to be it was in fact on top of a shop and is looked into by a primary school which isn’t pictured at all. Cannot recommend them any less.

GoogleI was a tenant with them for 1,5 years and the service from beginning to the end was very good.
Whenever we had an issue due to fair wear and tear, Lorraine was always very responsive to communicate with the Landlord and coming back with updates. I would rent another flat with them definitely.
The only bit we had a misunderstanding was in the 'end of contract' , with a misunderstanding of the 2 months notice (notice that we gave), however they reconsidered and proceeded as the contract mentioned.

GoogleWorst 'agents' I've ever dealt with..
If I could give them zero stars, I would. My experience with this agency was beyond appalling, disrespectful and embarrassing for them.
I called to request a second viewing on a flat I had seen literally the day before, wanting to bring a family member for a second opinion before making a major financial decision. Instead of a normal, professional response, Lorraine Reynolds decided to mock me. She said “So you want a second viewing because you need validation?” Excuse me? I didn’t realise asking for basic due diligence now warrants being patronised and belittled by someone clearly bitter about their own job.
She later rang me back to say I couldn’t be referenced because I’m on sabbatical leave, despite being told by another member of staff the day before that I could pay 6 months’ rent upfront and CONFIDENTLY said the landlady would be fine with that but just wouldn't provide furniture. I reminded her of that, and her response? A flat “We can’t help you,” followed by her hanging up the phone like a sulky teenager.
I called back to call out her rudeness and she laughed and hung up again. When I rang a final time to ask for her name or to speak to her manager, she refused to identify herself like a coward! Found out who she was from all the other bad reviews and the email confirmation I got yesterday :)
As someone who’s worked in the property industry, I’m honestly disgusted. Her attitude is the perfect example of why some people NEVER progress in this industry. No professionalism, no accountability, no basic courtesy. Her behaviour was immature, smug, and downright pathetic. She clearly has no business speaking to clients.
Avoid Home and Away if you don't want to be talked down to, lied to, and laughed at for expecting basic customer service. Get a work from home job where you don't need to speak to people if you want to sound like a cow on the phone.

GoogleWe was tenants with Home and Away for three years and honestly, that was the most worst experience in my life. The owner was far too rude. She was promise many thing just to make you get the property and then can't be bother to do what she promised. She organised viewings and came with people while my husband was sleeping after night shift. Entering in his room while he's sleeping....no comments!!! Because we left the house in perfect condition, she has nothing to charge me for- she get £100 from my deposit just because the grass in the garden was 5 cm long. Business lady like " Middle East " style! Run away from this people!

GoogleMy parents recently sold our family home through Home & Away estates, and we were very impressed with their service, especially given some unexpected challenges with our buyer. The ladies at Home & Away were absolutely fantastic in navigating these hurdles and ultimately getting us to a successful sale. Their communication was excellent, we always felt in the loop and well-informed. What truly stood out was their proactive approach to resolving any issues that arose. Even during the most trying times, the team remained warm, friendly, and professional. We are incredibly grateful for their expertise and support.

GoogleOverall poor. Inventory wasn’t done in our presence when moving in AND moving out.
A range of “issues were found” when we vacated the property, some of which were charged and taken from our deposit unfairly.
Some issues were reported during the stay which were never addressed to our disappointment.
Appointments with new tenants being booked with little to no notice at all. Some within 4 hours to the time of viewing.
Treated like absolute 3rd class citizens by a company that clearly has no regards for tenants.
Note to new tenants: stand your ground, be present to inventories, report everything you deem isn’t right and don’t let them bully you.
Update: “17 years in business” and 3 stars out of 5 from 70 reviewers should tell you a thing or two about the state of their “business”

17 years in business and we have never been accused of bullying. We can comfortably say that this family were the most awkward Tenants that we had to deal with from the word dot.
An independent inventory company carried out their check in on the day they moved in. The inventory clerks policy is that tenants are not present during their inventory checks but they are given 7 days to respond and add to their Inventory report, that is then provided to the tenants.
These tenants moved in to an immaculate home and left the property with a lot of defects and damages (burnt carpets, ink stains on expensive sofa's, quality furniture replaced with low quality furniture & not professionally cleaned like it was provided to them) All of this was documented in their independent check out inventory report and this was provided to them.
As damages were noted we liaised with the tenants and offered them a 2nd opportunity go back and resolve these issues before we suggested any deductions to their deposit.
The tenants were given the opportunity to go back and resolve these issues themselves, however there were still issues in that the property was not left in the standard to which it was when they moved in hence the deduction to make right. The tenants accepted & agreed to these costs and the deduction from their deposit (as per the deposit guidelines) & were advised to their rights to raise a dispute with the deposit scheme and full details were provided to them on how to do this.
We always try our upmost to deal as swiftly as possible with any issues that our tenants bring to our attention to make their lives as comfortable as possible. In the same regard we have a duty to ensure that the Landlord's property is left in the same condition as it was when a tenant vacates.
We stand by our values and the guidelines that we follow that are set out by Law & we wish you all the best in your future.

GoogleOur experience of working with Home and Away Estate Agents has been a satisfying and satisfactory one.
All members of the team we had contact with were friendly and pleasant and if involved in a task requested by Karl most efficient.
Karl Connor our main contact conducted himself in a calm and professional manner, giving maximum support to us as vendors and also to our purchasers, smoothing the path through the conveyance of our property which could have been problematic, demonstrating knowledge, ingenuity, flair and good humour and helping to resolve issues with an uncooperative tenant.
On this experience I would have no hesitation in recommending this agency.

I do not recommend this Home&Away Estate Egent to anyone. Avoid avoid avoid.
They haven’t gave me fully refurbished property but they want to renew they property in my deposit, luckily I living local and I will tell to whole communities how bad and rude service they got and your website feedback saying that your not trusted people.
I remembered that When I came to your office with my wife on 08/01/2015 to gave you the deposit and I asked from Lorraine Reynolds have you received my deposit from my landlord Lorraine said to me yes we got it but you are very lucky no one get it back.
from that day I notice that they are not reliable.
It is not true and all the time I asked for repair they blamed me I am rude no one come to you but it’s opposite they always treated me and one of they contracters said to me bad words and I reported to them and landlord but they did apologise at that time later they against me and in they emails they insults me and said lies.
Final update
I received my money from my deposit but they only paid to Home&Away Estate Egent a quarter from £2585, they said to my deposit which is the third party so many incorrect things but the Home&Away didn’t succeed, my advice to Home&Away tenants please never talk to them on the phone contact with them by email and keep all the proof like something get damage or you moving out from the property take a pictures or make video from the whole property.

You had moved in to a totally refurbished flat. Throughout your 4 year tenancy you abused and tormented every trades person that came to the flat making any works impossible to be carried out. After your eviction the property was found in a trashed condition. The deposit held by 'My Deposits' an independent government scheme will make the ultimate decision based on the inventory & evidence.

GoogleDuring our tenancy, I could have given a 2/3* review, although the conditions of the room when I moved in were dreadful, some furnishings were incredibly old and no shutters/curtains were installed on the window but I'm not a complainer.
I guess you don't need to do much when you're renting out properties in London, but they did send contractors/workers to fix stuff when required.
They however look for many BS reasons to keep bits of the deposit and turn very hostile as soon as you're not renting with them any longer, and can send people in the house unannounced.
The fun bit was finding out my credit score was screwed due to owing over £4K in bills to Octopus Energy in a BILLS-INCLUDED tenancy.
If you pay the rent a minute late you get phone calls from the agency, but they did not pay the bills for 3 years, and I apparently pay the price as now my credit score is ruined as they somehow "forgot" they had to pay the utilities for a 3-year period.
Like I said, they were a decent agency for most of the tenancy, but at the end they kind of showed their true colours

GoogleLet me begin by saying our fault was not being present during the initial inventory check. When we moved in somethings where quite literally glued on to pass the checks. Apparently the person doing the check didn’t check if they worked or not. We were penalised for things that were absolutely not our fault. Secondly the most patronising rude staff ever!! They kept scheduling viewings and asking us to be the tour guides. Sometimes not informing us there would be more than one person viewing the property. So would have 3-4 people in and out. All with child with a disability living at the property they were the most ableist bunch of people I’ve ever had the displeasure of knowing.
Another point is some of the positive reviews are from their staff…
When called out for their rudeness and horrible behaviour become very rude and vindictive. Such as refusing to do a reference.
