Paul and the team at Blake & Thickbroom secured lovely buyers very quickly. The team is both friendly and knowledgeable. Our sale process was smooth, and we have Blake & Thickbroom (along with Rhodda & Co. solicitors, over the road) to thank for that. All my calls and emails were answered promptly and efficiently; the advice I was given was excellent advice at every step of the way; there were no hidden surprises. GoogleI bought a property through this agent and found them unhelpful, ignorant rude unobliging. I have bought nine properties overtime and this was the very worst agent of all time!! Far too big for their boots and demanding far more personal information than they should. I refused of course! Will definitely NOT use them when I sell next time. Even the seller was disappointed and said they were unobliging and unhelpful!

GoogleUnfortunately we can’t rate these agents favourably.
The initial instruction was good and promptly placed on the market with a personable representative.
From then on unfortunately everything was a struggle. We were constantly given contradictory information, fobbed off with mistruths and quite frankly treated like we were an inconvenience. Considering we were paying for a service we do not feel this was given.
We’ve used multiple agents over the years and unfortunately these are by far the worst we’ve encountered.
Would we recommend them? Most definitely not!

The manager David Allis is reassuringly sound and friendly, and appeared genuinely concerned (more so than the other local independent agency I had round) with getting me best value on the sale. Paul was professional and responsive chasing up the sale once agreed. Thank you.

of the property l was interested in, The valuations are way out of line with the current recommendations by the Move market site I visited- in fact it is over 40k over the guide. I have sent them the valuation report which leads me to believe that they are giving vendors valuations that are not true indications, Is this to get custom ?....

In reply to your above review, I would think it only fair that any potential clients reading your review are made aware of all the facts and events that you have briefly outlined in your review. Firstly, you approached my company in May 2021 and made three offers on a bungalow in Great Clacton which unfortunately were declined by our vendor. We did confirm in writing to you that all offers were put forward to our client and were declined and we explained that as an Estate Agent we act for the owner and not the prospective buyer and our job is to obtain the best price for our vendor. We also tried to explain to you that figures provided by any online valuation tool may be too low and even too high and therefore not accurate. In conclusion to your review the property you were interested in eventually sold for £262,500 some £18,000 more than your final offer made and some £65,000 more than the valuation provided by Move Market site therefore proving that these online sites can sometimes be inaccurate.

We were not aware of our client’s intention to retain the new bungalow that you were buying. In my opinion, we did our very best to deal with a very disappointing and awkward situation for all parties. Secondly, it must be noted that we did not pressure you to proceed to exchange contracts on your sale and place yourself into temporary accommodation in a hotel with expensive costs. I understand this was due to your potential buyer threatening to withdraw from your sale as they would lose the saving on the stamp duty deadline. I would once again apologise on behalf of my developer client for the unfortunate events that occurred however, I would not apologise for the service my company provided to you as we did nothing wrong.
