Not to be trusted.Despite adhering completely to the Tenancy Agreement and having the premises professionally cleaned before leaving, Winkworth charged us an exorbitant amount for cleaning services - that were not even in the contract. This is for a place they neglected to maintain - leaks in the roof and mould on the walls that were never fixed.
At Winkworth we are always disappointed to receive a review such as yours and I am sorry to hear of your personal experiences. All of the Winkworth Offices are independently owned and operated and if you are able to update you review and provide details of the office that you had dealings with, we will be able to look into your concerns accordingly. It has been over 3 weeks since we vacated our rental property and we haven't been repaid our deposit. Apparently Winkworth can't contact our landlord.They also tried to change the check-in report to make it look like the flat was in a better condition when we moved in than it actually was.

Update on my review. Credit where credit is due at least they took my feedback seriously and responded and worked hard to resolve my issues in a timely manner after I complained. So thank you. Absolutely shambolic. Lied to about the deposit refund process and still waiting 2 months on for this to be resolved. Agent just palms off all responsibility back to the tenants. Would never use again! This is the Bishopston office

We had really disappointing experience with a Winkworth Finchely department, to be more exact, with a staff member Lewis Impleton.First of all, I called to ask for the particular flat viewing to be arranged. He asked me quite few questions on the phone, which was fine, as he had enough information to consider, if he wanted to waste my time and energy by coming to view the flat on the busy working day.Please note, I WAS ASKED what is my salary, which alone, was actually exceeding the required costs of the particular flat, but I WAS NOT ASKED to send the documents, reference letters etc. Lewis WAS AWARE of me and my husband working as a self-employed, but as I assume now, he didn't really understand the nature of my work and didn't bother himself to introduce me to the l.lord as a contracted worker, 6 days a week.On the day of viewing, he showed us the flat, politely smiled at us and was very presentable. But that was it...Knowing how fast we needed to move, due to the lack of free time and busy schedulle, he still did not get back to me. When I decided to chase him myself, I only received a short email- saying, that actually he was speaking to land lord and suddenly finding out, that they wanted only FULLY EMPLOYED people...I have only one reason to think of- he didn't like my husband or to be more exact- his nationality, as to emphasize again- he DID NOT ask us to send any of the required documents, proofs etc. He just judged us by the fact, that we are self-employed....

Terrible experience leaving our tenancy with Winkworth Tiverton. Spent a day cleaning the flat only to be told it wasn't good enough and cost us nearly £300 in deposit for them getting it cleaned by "professional" we didn't have a say in any of this and even though we mentioned that we felt we left the flat in good condition it went on deaf ears. We looked after that flat for 2 and half years and to have this in return just felt like it was all for nothing. I hope I'm never in a situation where I will have them again. Terrible company

After sending many emails trying to arrange a viewing, calling and being cut off, I was rudely and abruptly spoken to. Incompetent and incapable employees. My interest was dismissed and my situation wasn't even asked after, nor my telephone number or name for the viewing. Awful customer service from their NW office.

Had an appointment to view a flat, 30' before and as I was arriving, they cancelled as they got a holding deposit. How trustworthy Winkworth ?! Great move. The right thing to do is to finish all your appointments with the clients and then decide and take a holding deposit ! Avoid them.

He got what I was looking for early in the search and really helped me to find the place that was right for me (even though I didn't think it from the pictures at all!). They valued our house and told us they could sell it with an open day within a couple of weeks. Winkworth promised us they had a large list of buyers at our asking price looking in our area, on this basis we decided to agree a contract with Winkworth. The open day never occurred as promised and it soon became apparent that there was no list of potential buyers and within three weeks, Winkworth asked us to drop our asking price on the basis this would attract more potential buyers and we could hold an open day.As we both work full-time, long hours and have two young children an open day was our preferred option which was one of the main reasons we picked Winkworth.Yet again and even though we had now dropped the price, Winkworth were unable to hold an open day and we had a trickle of “buyers” at inconvenient times. Some of these said they weren’t even interested in buying. For example, one visitor said they just wanted to compare the size of the rooms to a house in a nearby street, of course this info is on Right Move.We feel completely let down by Winkworth. We selected them over two others on the basis of their original promise and they completely failed to deliver on this. Had we selected one of the other estate agents we may have sold our house.

Great agency, as well as being really focused on finding the right buyer they put tremendous energy into helping make sure the selling process goes smoothly including liaising with both the buying and selling solicitors and keeping everyone on track until completion. I used winkworth borehamwood...the sale price confirmation was spot on..however i was taken aback with the recommendations and i quote .." I would say to move items in2 your loft but it would b a hassle"..despite my walls throughout my flat are painted magnolia and are in pristine condition...it was recommended that i whitewash the entire flat...finally my flat is cluttered and i appreciate that i need to declutter prior to selling the property...despite this obvious fact the sales negotiator seemed continually irritated and indifferent when i mentioned retiling the kitchen. My personal expectation was that he make reasonable and professional recommendations....in conclusion i found him slightly patronising and not someone who was able to see the broader picture...I also felt he did not know the block of flats at all.
