Google10 GRANGE STREET PELTON - DO NOT RENT !!!!!!! HOUSE AND SURROUNDING AREA ARE NOT SAFE AND THESE LANDLORDS ARE ONLY CONCERNED ABOUT MONEY AND RIPPING YOU OFF !!!!!!!!! We went to view, the dad who spoke little to no English demanded more money than that was advertised on the post (false advertisement) and advised that some things needed fixing and he would be straight in touch. We kept a full time line of events for legal reasons whereby he did not get in touch and the issue with the work that was creating severe mould and damp in one of the bedrooms and re appointing work that needed doing was never done properly, it was actually done twice over and still never fully fixed however no matter how much you hounded them they still never came out to do anything properly. My ex partner lived here and our son attended for less than half a week, he lived here less than 6 months and in that short space of time my son again ended up with 3 upper respiratory infections causing antibiotics due to the fact we had not realised the damp issues had never quite been fixed and was impacting my 3 year olds health. Neighbours to the left had her windows put out twice during his six month stay, neighbours to the right are on tag, mentally unwell and he’s had his door and windows put out 3 times over and neighbours just down from those to the right have had 2 vans completely burnt out outside of 10 grange street in pelton, causing his house to be on fire and he had to escape out the back with the fire brigade. The landlord was not bothered and continued to state that the street was totally safe. At this point when the fire brigade entered the property they advised property was not fit for standard (went into the loft and there were issues that the landlord has covered up), also advised there was no c02 detector and no smoke detectors in the property, meaning that if my ex partner had not woke, both him and our 3 year old son could have been dead. TWICE! Again, nothing was done and at this point he advised he was leaving as the property was never ever safe and secure and never will be whilst the landlord couldn’t give a toss and whilst the neighbours still live there (all of there houses are bought so they won’t be moving out any time soon) Again in the short space of time he lived there bomb disposal squad were outside of his property and shut the property off completely again due to issues with joint neighbours and activity in the street. It’s not going to be long before somebody ends up dead or injured. Considering the landlords son has a child himself I think it’s RICH him letting any single child move into such a god awful property. My partner was being hounded for his keys and has since asked for his holding deposit back and been ignored on multiple occasions and for this reason and his mental health being impacted by this property he will be taking matters further legally.
