We appointed Fine And Country to sell our small farm in Tilmanstone, which given it's age, condition and complexity proved to be a challenging feat, however Ross and his team gave us all of the support and attention required to make the sale. We had many viewings and each was attended by one of their fantastic team, namely Rupert, Skye and Leslie. I would highly recommend Fine And Country, you are guaranteed a first class service and attention to detail that I personally haven't experienced with an estate agent before.

Ross and his team at Fine & Country were excellent in helping me with the sale of my property giving solid advice along with an impressive array of services and channels that made a real difference to the positive outcome. Always genuinely friendly and professional, taking the time to help me through the stresses and strains of undertaking the intellectual, commercial and emotional considerations of selling a prestigious property while also making the whole family feel comfortable and reassured that we were working with the right people for the sale of our property. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Great service throughout. I met Ross initially to discuss and agree the sales approach, he was very understanding and professional in his approach. Rupert was always available from start to finish to update and destress the process once the sales was underway. Amanda our sales progressor was persistent in her approach. Thank you all. F&C was the right choice :)

We had a truly excellent experience with Fine & Country. There was a few curveballs along the way that Ross and the team dealt with professionally and efficiently. Always courteous, responsive and good humoured. They genuinely cared about our purchase and they seemed to genuinely care for the seller too. A fine line to walk that was done very well. Highly recommended.

My wife and I sold our house through Fine & Country Canterbury. Our experience with Ross and Rupert was a positive one, even in an unsettled housing market. They are both highly capable, professional and personable people. They gave us sage advice, and their years of experience was evident in how they presented themselves and our property to prospective buyers. We have no hesitation in recommending them in their professional capacity.

Top quality service from F&C Canterbury. I was the purchaser in the transaction not the vendor, but they handled all my questions and queries along the way. Rupert and his team are very professional and I wouldn't hesitate to use or recommend their services should the need arise.

Excellent agents. Rupert, Ross and Skye were outstanding and very supportive as we navigated our purchase. Excellent communication, great expertise and we went from offer to completion in just under three months. Really happy to be in our new home and recommend Fine & Canterbury.

Had a great experience with Fine & Country and in particular, Ross. The original viewing was great. He was knowledgeable and TOTALLY transparent about all aspects of the property we were viewing. We were delighted with property and bought it. During the whole process, Ross kept us updated and was great liaison between us and the vendors pre and post completion, answering any questions we had. We’ve ended up in our dream home, so a totally positive experience. Huge thanks to the team.

The team we had from Fine and country were very good and assisted us through a difficult sale due to the prolonged time scale that it took the buyer to exchange contracts with us. I wish to thank our team at Fine and Country for keeping us informed on the sale progress along with providing us with the comfort we needed to stick with this buyer I recommend to everyone looking to appoint an estate agent that they should use the services of Fine and Country Canterbury

After being on the market for 6 months with another agent, I contacted Fine and Country to see what they could do to help me sell my house. The manager Ross came out to see me and explained that rather than reduce my price (something my current agent kept telling me to do) they would be able to use their london offices and national marketing to find more potential buyers. They did a brilliant brochure which showed my house off perfectly with a great write up done by their lovely journalist Liz. Within a month I had 6 viewings and an offer from a buyer who had already sold themselves. The sale has now gone through and I am settled in my new home near my daughter and grandchildren. Something I never thought would happen and probably wouldnt if I had not changed to Fine & Country. Thank you to the team at Canterbury who helped this happen and were always a pleasure to deal with. Rupert was always friendly and professional when he contacted me with feedback. Overall I cannot recommend this agent enough. From the way they handled my marketing to doing the viewings was always professional.

DREADFUL SERVICE! AVOID THIS ESTATE AGENT! Following a positive meeting with a previous manager (Nigel Mowat) I paid £250 to Fine & Country (Canterbury branch) for them to market my property. They subsequently pressurised me into putting it on the market for £20,000 less than I had been told it was worth. I reluctantly agreed as I was keen to downsize and move to another area. During the time the property was listed with them they put me under constant pressure to accept low offers and tried to infer that I was being unreasonable when I would not accept these offers. They tried to pressurise me into moving into rented accommodation to facilitate a sale at £40,0000 below my asking price and were extremely rude when I would not agree, inferring that I was the one who was being difficult! They eventually found a buyer at the lower price they had manipulated me into agreeing to, but again insisted that I move into rented accommodation almost immediately to facilitate the sale. They subjected me to constant pressure by emailing, phoning and texting. I asked them to desist, but the emails, phone calls and texting continued relentlessly. This high-pressure action was counter-productive as it meant I could not focus properly on finding another property within the very small window allowed by the buyer, so the sale fell through. Their high-pressure tactics resulted in the loss of this sale. They continually inferred that I was asking too much for my property, a 4 bedroom detached house with a large garden in Kingsgate, Broadstairs overlooking the North Foreland Golf course, in an attempt to drive the price down. Although at £780,000 it was only £80,00 more than a flat with no garden on sale for £700,000 in a less attractive area close by. The Manager Ross Anderson was very abrupt to the point of rudeness, whilst their staff member Jade was outrageously rude. When I complained about her rudeness to Ross Anderson I did not even receive a reply, let alone an apology. Previously, they had a Manager called Nigel Mowat who was very polite and professional, but when Ross Anderson took over the standard fell. Nigel assured me that the payment of £250 meant that my property would stay on their register until a buyer was found. However, when the sale fell through they advised me they would not continue to market it, but have not offered a refund. I am very unhappy with the behaviour of this estate agent as they have not acted honourably and seem to care only about making a quick profit. They are not at all interested in providing a quality service by supporting vendors. I would advise other buyers and sellers of property to steer well clear of them.

Christina · 21 June 2020

Agent replied · 21 June 2023

Dear Christina, I am surprised and saddened to read your comments. Having marketed your property for over two years, generating several proceedable offers including the most recent at the full asking price, we felt we had done all an agent could to help you sell. As you were still unable to commit to sell we could not in good conscience continue to market your property to prospective buyers. Having had no recent communication from you I was also surprised to discover your concerns about the marketing payment you made in 2017. I would kindly ask you to contact our office so we can discuss this with you.

5 attempts to organise a viewing, over 4 days with repeated promises to get back with confirmation. After I had to chase i eventually have the displeasure of talking to “Rupert”. One of the most arrogant and sleazy sounding estate agents I have ever spoken to. He made excuses in a tone of voice I would expect from an SS Officer. I will not use this estate agent ever again and recommend you do the same.

Ross · 16 September 2024

Agent replied · 26 August 2024

Hi Ross, thank you for your review and we are sorry that your experience was not a positive one. After investigating this further I wanted to add some missing information to your review which may help add some context. You contacted us on the 23rd January requesting a viewing and was greeted by our out of hours team who handle the over flow of calls when we are on the other line. Within 2 hours of your initial contact we emailed you asking you to contact the office as we needed to register your details and discuss the property before we could confirm a viewing. Unfortunately, you called after 5:30pm when the office had closed. On the 24th (the next day) we called you in the morning and managed to speak to you. You confirmed that you had to sell in order to buy and we explained that the property you wanted to view had an offer that was being negotiated so we would need to speak to the seller to confirm if they wanted a viewing from someone who had to sell. The seller came back to us the next day (25th January) to confirm that they were going to accept the offer they had an a viewing would not be possible as you would need to sell before you could buy so they did not want to waste yours or their time. We are sorry that we were unable to secure a viewing for you and that between waiting for responses from you and the seller it took 48 hours to come to a resolve but we have to act in the best interests of our sellers and also yourself and a viewing would not have been fair to you, the seller or the person whom was about to have an offer accepted on the property. We wish you all the best with your property search. Kind regards Fine & Country

Selling your property is known to be one of the most stressful experiences in the world. I’d been let down by another agent, who let the sale of my house slip through their fingers; so I went to Fine and Country in Canterbury instead. From the start, Area Manager Ross Anderson provided clear and sensible advice, ably supported by Rupert Mitchell (Senior Negotiator) and Amanda Robinson (Sales Progressor) and it was obvious that they were extremely skilful in managing the process of matching vendor with purchaser - the very first day of viewings, I got an offer at full asking price. The process of journeying to exchange/completion was long and tortuous - through no-one’s fault - and over the months I relied heavily on support from all three of these people to help me and advise me. The thing that distinguishes Fine and Country from other agents, is that they have a strong human element: they always returned calls, always listened patiently and their kind support was invaluable. It was particularly vital in this situation because of the volatile market and changing economic picture during the process of sale. I really needed the expert advice; and I got it. I recommend Fine and Country unreservedly.
