The people at Bairstow are very friendly however, please AVOID buyers using their recommended solicitors (Countrywide solicitors) who are TERRIBLE. We choose our buyer based on Bairstow recommending them because they were using their recommened solicitors. We were told this would be helpful - it has not been! Our solicitors can never get hold of them despite calling multiple times a day. Has slowed our process up hugely and causing lots of stress. So disappointing. Bairstow need to rethink their partnerships.

TrustpilotBanbury Sale
We have dealt with Banbury Branch Jason. We found Jason to be professional and effiecent. Helpful when we needed answers to questions. Completion dates were as stated by Jason. No problems would recommend Jason at BairstowEves .

TrustpilotBarking branch
When starting collaboration with this agency it was an excellent, customer focused business. After paying the deposit things completely changed. We come through three weeks without heating and hot water because it wasn't an emergency case. After finishing the tenancy we are struggling to get back the deposit. Two weeks of silence. No-one is answering the phone and emails. At the office they gave me the email address and phone number of a ghost agent ant told me it is the only one who can manage my deposit.

TrustpilotMisleading ads regarding road noise
I really regret (start with the first day moved in) that buying a flat that was supposed to be noisy but quiet during the special Covid-19 lockdown period. Bairstow Eves' ads described the road of the community itself to be quiet (their wording is "a quiet residential road"), however, the real position of the flat is actually facing a busy main road (unstopping traffic from 6 am to midnight). The existing double-glazed window is not a perfect solution, and only can reduce around 10db. For the consequences of suffering from the traffic noise, I moved to my office desk to the corridor since the living room and bedroom both face to the main road, and I also developed long-running tinnitus which last for hours and causes me to seek for medical and mental health help. Regarding fixing solutions, I have tried ear plugs, noise cancelling headset, noise cancelling curtain, etc. Although the whole purchasing experience is also very daunting and could be common, however, Bairstow Eves’ misleading information on road noise on me is the most unacceptable thing.

TrustpilotUnprofessional
I call Bairstoweves regarding a flat that was advertised for less than 24h ( after 5 pm, and I called 09:40 am) They did not even ask me which flat I am enquiring about or the area, she just told me that is not available and hang of the phone. They either do fake advirtasement or judge people by their accents, sad and shameful.

TrustpilotBE Purley, Incompetent, Irresponsible
Disinterested, uninformed, dismissive. Is how I would describe the "Fully managed" lettings service at the Purley branch. At one point I was asked to Google the answers to my questions. As I was an overseas landlord, I relied on the agency to alert me about issues at my property in a timely manner. Big mistake. They were usually months late to pick up any issue by which time I had heard about it from other sources and sorted it out. Also, someone whom I have never met or spoken to at the branch completely misled my tenants as to how long I was likely to be away and consequently how long they could expect the Let to be. Irresponsible and unprofessional. I had complained through the company's complaints process due to a litany of omissions on their part and they offered me £50 to close the matter. Really? If you do go with this company please be prepared to do all the work yourself.

TrustpilotGreat service
My husband and I saw a number of wonderful properties to rent listed under Bairstow and Eves in South Woodford area. When we finally found a property we liked, Elaine and Adam helped us in the negotiation process and enabled a seamless check-in into the new home.

TrustpilotClapham Junction Branch - Do not trust this company **Disappointed**
I had taken on this company by mistake of another company, anyway when I realized this I still went ahead with them. Now my problem with this company is the tenants paid the rent on the Saturday 14th February 2021, by bank transfer. Now, I called bairstoweve and deliberately spoke with the Manager Ryan on Friday 19th February, so that I could get to the bottom of why I had not received the rent as yet. Ryan told me that he would contact their accounts team and get back to me but he never did.I called his office 2.30 half hours later only to be told that he had left for the day. Another colleague said they would contact Ryan and he said he will call me back or someone would call me back that day. Which they did not, nor did anyone call me back the next day Saturday. It is not a lot to want to find out why I have not received the rent 7 days after they received the money from the tenants.

TrustpilotLie just to get you Off the Phone.
I have had this company for the past 4 years and have always had problems with the customer service rep. first day moving into the property I call the rep requesting assistance with he heater, all she said was "GOOGLE IT". Yesterday my heater broke and British Gas should have been sent to fix the issue. They CS. Rep Lied to us, telling us an appointment was booked and the engineer should be visiting between 9 am to 6 pm. I called this rep 3 times throughout the day to verify the appointment. At 6 pm I call British Gas to ask when this engineer will be passing by, to my horror there was no appointment booked. With a 9-month old child at home, -5 degrees outside, no heating and no hot water. she lied just to get me off the phone. Now I have to wait until Monday to get heat a home. today is Thursday. Avoid this company as all cost.

TrustpilotI have a very bad experience with the…
I have a very bad experience with the letting team and the property management team. They managed my property for four years. since there isn't issue with tenant at the beginning, so they just keep taking my management fee and don't need to do anything. At the third year , tenant started to report boiler not working, it took 6 months for the contractor to get it fixed. Their contractor charged me £500 to replace the heating element 27 Nov 2019 .Provide one year warranty. As it took so long to fixed the problem, my tenant decided to move out in jan2020. The flat was not let out due to covid 19. It was closed up for six months. Then I found a new tenant with another agent. My new tenant only move in a few months and the boiler element break , which is the element that Barstow Eve charge me £500 for. I contacted Barstow Eve begining of Dec 2020 and they insisted that as it is not one of the property they managed , they can't help anymore. They say I need to talk directly with their contractor who fix it. When I spoke to him, he is really irresponsible and said that there is no warranty for his work and blame other factors that cause element to break. My current management agent contractor investigate and told me there is no other factors to cause the elements to burn. It is the poor quality elements itself . I find it very disappointed with the work this contractor done , I find this company very dishonest, overcharged me and provide a substandard elements that only work for six months maximum . Besides that , when my tenant move out , they delay 4 days in carry out the check out for me because of lack of staff and causing me not allow to enter and remarket the property . They say they will charge the four day rental to tenant as tenant has to pay until the day check out is done . Until now , I didn't receive the four days rental as later on they say I need to take tenant to court to claim it back. I am not doing that of course as it is not tenant fault. I left a set of keys for the property management team and they also managed to misplaced it , causing me lots of inconvenience as I need to replace all lock . Never ever trust bairstoweves to manage your property, they only charge you fees and not doing their duty. It will cause you more pain at the end.

TrustpilotCondescending and rude
Scott spoke to me very condescendingly, insinuating I couldn’t afford to purchase the property I wanted to view. He suggested I get back in touch when I secured a mortgage in principle. When I did so he sarcastically said “you’re telling me you’ve secured an agreement in principle already? Since 5pm last night?”. Yes. What’s it to you? Is it so unbelievable to you that I am a motivated buyer with the resources to make a decision quickly? I don’t know how people like him make any commissions. So rude. I’d like to file a formal complaint with Bairstow Eves (I’ll have to find out how) so he doesn’t get away with this kind of rude behaviour. Disgraceful.

TrustpilotZero stars is a compliment.
Do I really have to give the Beeston branch 1 star? I have 2 houses to sell. They fail to return calls. There rarely seems to be anyone answering calls in the office. Finally I am able to make an appointment for valuations. The valuer decides he would rather do a zoom conference and cancels at the last minute. Reluctantly I make another appointment for the 2 valuations a week later. Nobody turns up,not even a call. I ring the office, nobody answers. I give up. Would the managing director like to contact me,apologise and look into what on earth is going on in this branch.

TrustpilotSHOCKING COMMUNICATIONS! AVOID!
SHOCKING COMMUNICATIONS! We entered negotiations to purchase a property. When communications began it was a relatively normal process with the back and forth conversation between ourselves, the agent and the vendors. After rejecting multiple offers on the same day. We eventually upped our offer again with a reasonable offer which caused the vendor to keep it on the table and only what I can call "stalling" for time. After us constantly chasing we gave the vendor plenty of patience and time to decide only to be fobbed off by the agent with "We can't get hold of the vendor" or "the vendors need to have a conversation". We were promised a decision multiple times on different days only to be left waiting. A few calls to update us out of professional courtesy from the agent would have been sufficient. After a week and a half they finally called and rejected the offer we had on the table only to sell it the same day. It appears they were stalling for a better offer, making us the backup plan. We'd have much rather the transparency and told from the start that our offer would be considered if no better offers came forward. Instead we kept being put off with various excuses which seemed strange at the time. A lot of people would just say that's life, move on which we have. There's plenty more properties out there! However I just wanted someone to know about our unpleasant experience as I wouldn't want others to go through it. Don't get me wrong a lot of the control is in the vendors hands which is fair enough but now I'm inclined to believe the estate agent was also in on it. A carrot on a stick comes to mind.Once again we were made to feel like a backup plan! If we feel this uneasy during negotiations, I don't have much confidence in completing a purchase with them. What happened to honest ways of negotiating and doing business nowadays!?

DO NOT USE. I used them to rent out my property it was agreed 1/2 month payment for finders fee. When I received several hundred pounds less. They had only given me bottom copies to sign tenants agreement etc. I trusted the manager Jason Hatton & lettings agent Freddie Wealand they are both dishonest untrustworthy people. Mr Hatton promised to get me back my £ or he would “pay it out of my own pocket “ yet another lie he simply passed it on to a line manager whom said I signed the documents & tough basically.I was told that their nickname in the agents circle is B’std Thieves not Barstow Eves well that’s a nick name well suited

TrustpilotTruly an awful experience
Truly an awful experience, they got me to sign the contract and even told me to put the utilities into my name, then informed me the current tenants were not leaving. When I asked for my holding deposit back they promised it within 3 to 5 days and on the 6th day I'm still waiting. You'll understand why estate agents have such a poor reputation once you deal with these guys. Avoid at all costs if you value your sanity. Truly awful experience
