TrustpilotIf only 0 stars was possible
If only 0 stars was possible! Having purchased a home from the higher end of their properties some 10 months ago, we still find ourselves going through 'snagging'.Customer services and support post sale is appalling with this company. So my advice is this, if you buy a home with them make sure you're pretty handy with a tool box and you don't care about warranty or support. Our house had so many minor problems that it was laughable and clearly there is no quality control in place with this company - for example, we had no hot water when we moved in. I asked how they signed it off, and they told me it was rigorously inspected - turns out they'd tested it with the immersion heater on, but the thermostat hadn't been connected by the elctricians, so that provides an example of the type of control processes they have. We've had issues such as brickwork laid so out of line they had to remove our porch and redo the lot. Our current ongoing issue is with the plumbing, every tap and shower rumbles and makes so much noise that they can be heard throughout the house above the sound of the tv.Yet whenever a plumber looks for a solution they require sign off from Bovis, who leave emails on unread for months at a time, leaving you, the homeowner to chase. Even when you chase, they eventually send somebody from the site team who is usually the most inept dimwit you'll ever meet. They don't seem to take notes, they don't email, they can't communicate, they don't turn up when they're supposed to (if they turn up at all). They're often rude, or they constantly blame the contractors, the materials or they say things like -it's within standard deviation - anything other than accept the fault and make a plan to fix it.So, Bovis/Vistry - you'll likely get a decent sized house with ok fittings in a pretty good location. Don't expect most of it to work as it should, don't expect any form of customer service or support and don't expect them to honour the warranty. My next stop is to ring a solicitor and contact NHBC to investigate legal action against them. That should probably tell you everything you need to know

TrustpilotMy wife and I were very nervous about…
My wife and I were very nervous about buying a new build having heard an awful lot of horror stories about some developers in the area. However, we looked at a few developers and finally decided to buy a Bovis Home at Minerva Heights. The service from day one has been exceptional, first from meeting Craig in the sales office and deciding on which house suited our family best, through to moving in and being handed over to the onsite managers. We have been helped, supported, and guided throughout the whole process and cannot thank all involved enough for the experience. If you are looking to buy a new home at Minerva Heights look no further than Bovis. We have gone on so much about how impressed we are some close family members also now want to buy with Bovis at Minerva Heights. Thank you to the whole Bovis Team.

TrustpilotBovis Homes
I've just brought a new home with Bovis, Minerva Heights Development in Chichester and my experience has been brilliant throughout. I feel I have been really looked after by Craig from the sales team, who made my move enjoyabe with his professional, friendly, cheerful and helpful personality. At times he's gone above and beyond to help.Since moving into my new home, Lewis the site manager has been amazing at taking on board any minor snag issues, with a smile on his face.Thank you Bovis team!

Trustpilotnew home at Minerva Heights Chichester
recently moved into our new home. The stressful pre completion was made smoother by Craig and Levi from the sales office. The on site lads pulled all stops out to get us in on time. Snagging such as was needed was dealt with by Lewis and Chris and carried out by the onsite trades who all did their bit no matter how small without fuss. Nothing was too much trouble. Yesterday Craig laid on drinks and cream tea so that all the new neighbours could meet each other. Only negative comment would aimed at the fencing contractors on site.

TrustpilotShocking service - customer care dreadful
Shocking service, 2 years in a property still ongoing issues. Windows in my girls rooms are incredibly drafty. We have put in blinds and thermal curtains. We have had Jon out again with his endless excuses the answers basically today are put the heating on full and our daughters must have cold leg syndrome!!!! I cant even be bothered to explain all the issues on here just want people to know how bad the service is and how bad the customer care is and how bad it is that the managers just blame all the contractors and take zero responsibility but they must have a great book of excuses to do the job!

They will Take your Money and take money for Extras than pull the House from Under your feet.I was supposed to exchange and complete by the 17th of Dec 2021 .Due to the chains solicitors having Covid and peoples mental health issues no completion took place .Bovis was fully informed at all times .They then mentioned they will want more money as new year house prices are increasing ,that i said will be okay for the new Year exchange and completion but they still pulled all the legal papers from my solicitor refused to say why we cant buy there house and are cowards still to not give a truthful answer. This is peoples lives there playing with as well as stealing ones money there the most disgusting Home builder i have ever come across i do suggest not to buy from them unless your a cash buyer, and can do all they tell you you to do, as they will if not just sell your Home to someone else ..

Recently moved into our gorgeous new property and it was worth the wait. Appears well built and the snags we did find were resolved quickly. Sales team, primarily Leah, were helpful and thorough once they got additional hands in to help, constantly made sure we were updated with any delays and all necessary paperwork. Builders continue on site but are friendly and attentive to the continued upkeep of the properties already built so as not to cause us any problems.

TrustpilotDisgusting company, Directors do not care.
Bovis changed the terms of an agreed deal which lost me about £9K, were unable to provide full details of the property and asked me to stop asking their solicitor questions (why not just answer the questions?). Following purchase I identifed the entrance to the drive was too steep, they agreed to lower it -6 months on I've had 2 meetings with the same people to discuss and agree actions, they even did some work -to be put back at the same height. Sheer incompetence. My kitchen needed most of the units correcting, major leak in the shower, a shower that didn't work for 6 months, guttering leaking (originally expected water to go uphill, I guess just being bodged instead is an improvements of sorts), front door is bent and leaves a gap...I could go on. Lets put it this way, they can't get the big stuff right so you end up ignoring the small things.Emails to sales, site and senior management -including the MD are pointless. Ignored by all. The only language the company understand is legal. For the sake of your own sanity, look for an alternative housebuilder -although bear in mind Bovis is part of Vistry, which owns Linden and Drew Smith. 1 Star because zero or negative is not possible.

TrustpilotWorst customer service. Avoid like the plague.
Served the country for 26 years, went with Bovis as they offer a military discount. Yet again service people treated like second class citizens because the directors wanted to tie in with a 4 week completion and charge full whack. Paid our reservation fee and the next we heard from Bovis they were refunding our deposit. Made up some story where they said we’d been called (lies) and then had the nerve to offer us another plot. Avoid them like the plague. Dodgy and underhanded company with zero customer service.

TrustpilotBovis/Vistry/Linden - The Whole group is an appalling excuse for a company. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Where do you start with this deceitful group of companies. We reserved a property on the Vistry Group's Seamer site near Scarborough and proceeded towards exchange. A property reservation fee of £500 and £700 of legal fees later my solicitor discovered a public right of way running immediately at the back and the side of the property which wasn't on any site plans displayed in the sales office, wasn't on any plans supplied to us and wasn't once mentioned to us by sales staff. Indeed the right of way was located on land misleadingly shown as belonging to our property and the neighbouring property on the sales brochure and our supplied details. Further, on our home demonstration we asked the site manager the location of our boundaries and he was extremely economical with the truth on two separate occasions as to the location of the boundaries and again didn't make us aware of the public right of way. Thankfully our solicitor was doing her job but at that stage we were £1300 out of pocket. We had to pull out of the purchase but agreed to reserve a different property with the Vistry Group on the Heartlands site in Driffield transferring the resevation as we were worried about losing our sale.We managed to keep our buyer sweet and were assured of a September completion in writing for the new reservation (agreed verbally by the site manager and in writing by the site sales team). However, we should have learnt from the previous reservation that the Vistry Group could not be trusted. Two weeks before the agreed completion date and despite a month of desperately chasing Vistry to confirm the date officially to our buyer's solicitor only to be greeted with complete silence, we were dropped the bombshell with absolutely no valid reason that the completion date was now October. Not only did this mean that both me and my buyer now had to pay stamp duty it also meant my buyer finallly lost patience and pulled out of my sale. This was despite the Vistry house being finished! After a formal complaint to the Vistry Group they then mysteriously agreed an end of September completion knowing that my sale had fallen through! We were promised that Vistry would be patient and wait within reason for us to find a new buyer given the appalling way they had behaved so far on both plots. But lo and behold just 10 days past the original agreed completion date the house was put back on the open market without even telling us or our solicitor! We found out when we visited the property and the sold signs had been replaced with For Sale signs! I am now out of pocket by a further £600 giving a total loss of around £2500 counting cost accrued on my abortive sale so far. Both purchases fell through solely as a result of Vistry Group's deceit, lack of ethics and total incompetence. I haven't even been offered my reservation fee back! I will now have to take legal action against this appalling company at further cost. Please please do not deal with this shocking company. Just read some of the reviews. I have purchased 3 new builds with various builders and I have never dealt with a company as bad as Vistry. AVOID AVOID AVOID. Although reading other reviews of Vistry, Linden and Bovis it would appear that I have had a lucky escape!

TrustpilotYapton View
Yapton View, the development being put up behind my home is noisy, intrusive and totally disrespectful of their neighbours. I repeatedly have to ask the site manager to turn off blaring music. Why doesn’t he just make it a site rule. No music. Last week they tore into a protected boundary and ripped out a lot of tall trees that were to remain insitu as part of their planning consent. The Chief Planning Officer confirmed this. These are the most inconsiderate builders. We’ve been putting up with this behaviour for 2 years.

TrustpilotThe worst company I’ve ever dealt with.
Unfortunately when you dream of a Bovis home, it often becomes a nightmare. Like ours did when the sewer connecting 17 houses that runs through our drive started to collapse due to shoddy installation (as per surveyor report) Bovis had cocked up the application to the local water authority to adopt them, so it left is in no man’s land with a 3 x 2 meter sink hole in our drive with 17 houses raw sewage running through it. IT TOOK BOVIS 43 DAYS TO FINALLY SEND A SUBCONTRACTOR TO EVEN LOOK AT IT!!!They have spent 3 month denying it and only just said there has been a problem with the legal side of the sewer adoption. Don’t get blinkered to the lovely homes. Look at their Trust Pilot reviews. Join Bovis Victims 2.0 on Facebook and get a clear picture of what you are buying into.

TrustpilotBovis (Part of Vistry group) zero customer care
After an appalling experience of Bovis homes I have to warn others of my customer service experience. I reserved a house progressed the sale to a point where i signed contracts ready for exchange. However because i wrote to them complaining of my experience with them during the build they at t he last minute withdrew the sale from me. Yes thats correct withdrew the property from sale ! No amount of protesting would change their mind despite having signed the sale contract. They preferred to direct me to the Consumer Code complaints process which even cost them money to do so !So if you are buying a Bovis (Vistry group house) do not moan to them at all whatever you do. Clearly do not give a jot about customers and their customer serviceYou have been warned

Sales team go above and beyond to get you to buy but beware aftersales service and is non-existent. Poor quality and design. Snagging still not addressed after being here over 3 months, many security and safety issues. Have to chase and chase but still no joy. You get hassled by on-site staff to give a good report on NHBC survey too. Avoid buying a Bovis home.

TrustpilotPlease do not buy a Bovis home.
Please do not buy a Bovis home.Bovis have simply put me and my family through too much. Please don't let Bovis destroy the mental health of your family too.Our property is very low quality; a very different quality to the marketing material. I moved from one new build to this Bovis one and am shocked by how much lower the standard of the Bovis home is. Our property has many snags but also significant defects too. Getting Bovis to acknowledge and undertake remedial work of appropriate quality is probably the worst and most frustrating experience of my life. I am not exaggerating when I say it could push Bovis home buyers who have perhaps saved for 10+ years, committed huge shares of their income for 25+ years, to suicide. All these faults and defects are ones which I can see, hear or feel; I'm kept awake at night thinking about all the other issues my home has which I am yet to discover.Bovis have a range of tactics to try and avoid their responsibilities including- outright lying to you- ignoring you- very very slowly doing anything such that eventually you decide you can no longer sit in all day for their contractors to visit (or not visit on the day they said is often the case); we're at over 50 days with no goodwill/compensation payments- saying they will undertake remedial work only for them to change their mind (and refuse to acknowledge they've changed their mind)- undertaking incredibly poor quality remedial work, leaving your home with more faults, to put you off having other things corrected- insist something which clearly is a fault is not a fault, despite it being totally clear- insisting a clear defect has to completely fail first, leading to a much more significant issue arising- refusing to correct a defect because it's a lot of work, as if that's a reason - claiming work has been undertaken when it has not- claiming work has not been undertaken when it has (yes this happens)- behaving consistently inconsistent Our dream family home which will effectively cost me a third of my income for my entire working life, has become a family nightmare. Bovis have ruined our lives and left us feeling robbed and left us mentally ill.Whilst home buyers do have rights, they are less than those when buying a tin of baked beans. No company in most sectors that behaves like Bovis would survive; they'd have no repeat business and would fold. If you're a shareholder in Vistry living off my family's pain, please consider putting your wealth to alternative use.And please remember - don't buy a Bovis home.

TrustpilotTerrible workmanship and no customer service at all
So annoyed with Bovis went shopping for a new property and was impressed that Bovis were fitting solar panels to all 5 bedroomed houses on anew estate in Ipswich. Sold our current house and went back and made an offer on a plot on the development in Ipswich. The house was almost finished with just a few touches to be made including a front porch and solar panels but I was assured the house would be finished beofre we moved in. Our neighbours identical property was having their solar panels fitted as we viewed and I noticed ours were in the garage ready to be fitted. We moved in and asked where the panels and the porch were, they ignored the question about the panels for nearly two years despite being asked in emails about them every other month. The porch took nearly two years to fit - we are still waiting for defects to be rectfied two years later and no panels. Their useless customer service denies any knowlegdge of us asking about the panels and told us to check our paperwork as the house was 'sold as seen'. We checked all through our paperwork and no mention of sold as seen was ever mentioned. Now they have trotted out a check sheet which shows we were taken through various items and how they work when we moved into the house which we signed to say had been explained, however they filled in N/A against solar panels which at the time I assumed was because they were not fitted yet they could not ecplain them. Bovis says this indicates they were not going to be fitted. Their customer service dept says not to worry as the panels 'are not all that and not worth having' that's a great sales pitch in itself. Now I notice a 4 bedroomed house has been given panels (the only one on the site) a sales pitch I reckon and our panels without a doubt. Checking the loft all the wiring for the panels has been fitted but they just never got round to fitting the panels. Now I am waiting for a new roof to the bay widow on the master bedroom - they fitted the wrong one which left a gap of two inches between the roof and the windows (how this ever got through an HSBC inspection I will never know) we are also waiting for two ceilings to be replaced because of shoddy plastering and after two years they cannot source us a replacement back soor to the garage which was reported faulty when we moved in. On top of that we had to have the whole garden dug up and the levels reworked as they were wrong and extra drainage fitted due to the that originally fitted being inadeqaute. Personally I find the standard of workmanship on their build to be incredibly poor and their customer service non exsiatnt. My guess is we will have to resort to the legal system to get the solar panel situation sorted. Oh I have photographs of the sales posters used all round the estate showing the 5 beded houses all having solar panels and all the other owners of the 5 bedders were all told that ll 5 beddres come with solar panels - Bovis are ignoring these facts and saying the photographs were for guidance only...

TrustpilotBovis sales director hates customers!
Bovis sales director hates customers!Sadly, our recent experience with almost purchasing a Bovis new build has made us realise that Bovis is not interested in its customers. The sales team does not give a damn about what you say about their product or their conduct. And if you do make too much noise, they say "we dont want to deal with you". Wow!!!!!!I am concerned about the practices of the sales team in this development particularly the sales director who lacks total professionalism and borders unethical behaviour.Any commercial business website, the pricing, be it Amazon or Ebay, promotes its product with an invitation for potential customers to make an offer, the website of Bovis has stated the price of their plots at one price, but we are being charged £10,000 above this stated price without being given any reason as to why the price rise.Whilst conversing with this sales director, we are told that they have hundreds of plots around the country and sometimes pricing goes wrong. Well I am in a Global business that sells 55 million transactions and pricing does not go wrong. In today’s systematic and cloud environment, the business that survive are those that are switched on to today’s e-commerce environment. Agility and speed in changing pricing of products and services is key.Our conversation with sales director ended with "best that we do not do business" i.e. dont buy a home from us as we are being awkward. What happened to “customer is king”. So we have a mortgage in place and substantial cash and right at the crunch moment we have been effectively told, “we do not want to sell to you”. House purchases are already stressful for most of us in the UK, then you come across persons such as this sales director who advises us not to be buy from them. Shocking, shocking, shocking!!!!Instead of an apology for misleading pricing, we have been informed that Bovis does not want to deal with customers. This has been the most disturbing and shocking house buying experience in my 50 years. Never again will I approach BOVIS

Trustpilot2 weeks later and I'm the one chasing to hear back about my offer. useless
bovis homes, vistry. they're all the same. I gave an offer for an apartment at brunel street works in canning town and it took a week of chasing to hear back with a counteroffer. Within 30 minutes I replied - this was 1 week ago. How pathetically lazy do staff need to be? and how useless are the people employed here that this is how they act when they are trying to sell a property...NOT a property they've sold and now don't care about. This is them not caring about selling the property in the first place. Talk about a red flag. If this is the pathetic level of service when selling imagine what it would be like in the aftersales.I've had to chase these clowns and no one came back to me. No one chased. No one bothered. Then 1 girl responded saying she'll chase up an answer on Monday - it's now Monday evening. I don't know who the bigger fools are - the staff or the people running it but it's clear the employees just scroll on Instagram and pass time until they can go to the pub. hands down the biggest disgrace I've come across in property and customer service

Furrowfields, Bishops IthingtonA shambles of a builder, avoid like plague! Bovis Homes has the same behaviour the company had in 2017 when it was forced to compensate furious buyers! Sales promises anything to get you into a buy, and once you're in for a while you can start noticing poor workmanship all over the place and low quality materials used. Customer care is useless so you can kiss goodbye to your warranty! It doesn't follow-up on issues, keeps apologising for not acting when it should and clearly waits on people to simply give up so they don't need to actually fix anything. Most of the contractors used by Bovis are just not good and they try all sorts of shortcuts instead of doing a proper job. Aside from that, even when a contractor makes a note to the builder on what needs doing to fix an issue, Bovis doesn't do anything! Highly inflated house prices for a low quality workmanship and build and non existent customer care!I had issues with water polling inside the front door when raining since I moved in (Nov 2019) and it's still not fixed today. Other issues with flooring not fixed since a year almost, ticking pipes in ensuite which simply got ignored! Previous site manager (Ian) would not genuinely fix issues, only do poor workarounds and tell you lies!

TrustpilotCharlton Hayes Estate in Bristol
Charlton Hayes Estate in Bristol. Very, Very, Very poor ground maintenance, absolutely shocking. They make it all look nice when you move in, once all the houses are sold, they abandoned the site and never come back, they appoint an "estate management company" to carry out repairs, but the management company just charges you admin fees and does absolutely nothing. However Bovis still owns the land, so the council can not carry out any cleaning or maintenance. They do no maintenance, recently they didn't even bother to cut the grass for months, then they turned up with a strimmer and shaved it down to the bare soil, it's all dead and patchy now. Not to mention that they didn't even bother to pick the litter from the grass and shredded plastic and cardboard and whatever else was on it in to one million pieces and left it all. It looks like a disaster zone. If you can please avoid, I will never move to a Bovis built estate in my life, living here once was enough.
