GoogleThe best way to check how effective an estate agent might be in selling your property, is to pretend to be a prospective purchaser and assess how keen and helpful they are in accommodating your search for a home. I'm afraid the staff at Barry Bufton's in Bromyard failed miserably today. We were met with sullen indifference by possibly the most unhelpful individual I have encountered to date. She wouldn't take any of my details and basically told me to go and surf Rightmove. Shades of Little Britain's " Computer says No " but with no humour whatsoever.
By contast, the staff at Nigel Poole and Co, are only paid commission on a sale if they contact the prospective purchasers BEFORE they find a property on Rightmost.
Just think about that for a moment.
Barry Buffoon ? I don't think so.

After much consideration we have decided to respond to this review.
I am sorry Mr Crossley found his visit to my office disappointing, however I do need to comment as our aim is to help all customers as best we can. The person who met Mr Crossley is my personal assistant who goes out of her way to be polite, helpful and give best advice possible so in view of this I refute what this person says.
To encourage people to be dishonest in their approach to an agent is appalling as we take visitors at face value and try to have faith in what they say. Mr Crossley’s visit was also witnessed by another sales assistant who confirmed Mr Crossley & partner came into the office complaining other agents had refused them viewings. My assistant expressed surprise at this.
Our policy is clear and we advise prospective buyers, including Mr Crossley, to put an alert on Rightmove with details of requirements and Rightmove will email alert as soon as a suitable property goes on the market, this applies to my agency and others. Clearly this advice was not understood as Mr Crossley now wrongly says he was told to ‘surf Rightmove’.
The sentence on Nigel Poole & Co., who are miles away from my office, makes no sense whatsoever.
My staff found Mr Crossley to be hostile towards agents in general, he would not listen and therefore learned nothing from his visit.

GoogleBarry Bufton is a very nice chap, jovial and a good professional. Also if you want to buy a house in Bromyard then there was only Barry, there is only Barry and there will always be only Barry. So don't get on the wrong side of Barry.
