Be very cautious when putting in an offer on 43 St Columba Road, Bridlington. The lady owner is the niece of John Harris so I’m not sure if this is the reason for his unscrupulous behaviour. We had a cash offer accepted by the vendor on Wednesday 3rd June. However we still hadn’t moved in and were nowhere near being about to move in on Wednesday 6th October when we withdrew our offer. The extension and alterations that have been completed don’t have any paperwork or were checked as building progressed by the local authority building inspector. On the searches this property is listed as having an unauthorised extension. The vendors constantly told the ladies in the office that they were talking daily to the council and that the certificate was on its way. They also claimed that the electric certificate was on its way as well. It later turned out that more work needed to be completed before he would issue one and that no application has been made to the local authority for a building certificate. Our survey showed a partially blocked sewer under the garage but the vendors claimed that there was no problem. We are absolutely amazed that given all of these issues that Harris Shield has put the property back on the market. I just hope that some other poor people don’t end up being in the same situation as us. We didn’t want to loose our buyers so bought a small touring caravan, which we thought we would be in for a few weeks, but have been in it since 9th July. The ladies in the office are lovely, but John Harris doesn’t ring you when he promises to and clearly has no conscience or sense of responsibility towards his buyers.NegativeQuality

Had a viewing they didn't turn up, cancelled me instead of someone else. Did send someone else out, booked another viewing on a different property when I phoned to confirm, they had the wrong date, then said there shouldn't be a viewing cause its sold. I dont think they know whats going on
