Initially we felt that we were miss-sold the view at the rear of the house. We were told by the sales rep that we would only be looking at roof tops due to the drop in elevation at the rear. As the houses have been built we see that it is not true, which is disappointing as this would have influenced our decision making.

Charles Church, Princes Park, Rackheath. Moved in end of March, into a lovely 3 story Greyfriars. It’s our first property and it’s been a really lovely stress free experience. The sales rep Sophie is so friendly and went above and beyond for us. The on site team are also very approachable and will do whatever they can to help. Clem is a lovely character who’s dealt with the very minor snags inside. Have recommended Charles Church to friends and family!

Exceptional Service

From start to finish, we have received an excellent level of customer service from the Charles Church team at Princes Park, Rackheath. The girls in the Sales Office (particularly Sophie) were always polite and helpful and went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and ensure a smooth transaction from reserving the plot, right up to being handed the keys. Their service was transparent and reliable and our purchase completed within the recommended time frame, with no complications or complaints on our behalf. We used their recommended solicitors and had an entirely unproblematic and stress free experience navigating the legalities. Having been in the plot for 2 months now, we still have absolutely no complaints and would recommend the company to friends and family without hesitation. This is our first new build property purchase and will definitely not be our last. Any snagging that we’ve picked up, no matter how big or small, has been dealt with promptly and professionally. The construction team on site have truly made us feel like nothing is too much to ask and Clem Jones in particular, has gone above and beyond to provide an exceptional level of customer service. Our kids love saying good morning to the workforce every morning and each and every one of them are a credit to the company. We decided to purchase a new build after multiple previous purchases fell through and we were beginning to lose hope. We viewed many homes with other companies but none of them offered the same value for money as Charles Church did. We are over the moon with our new family home. Thank you Charles Church, you have delivered everything that you promise and more.

Good job by Jon & Tom (Mill View Caerphilly)

Maintenance Operatives Jon & Tom were assigned to make repairs to a defective dormer roof and make good resulting water ingress damage to ceilings, walls and window sills. Their work was exceptional, always ensuring that I understood what they were going to be doing and the timescales involved. The works were completed with minimum inconvenience to myself and they showed empathy in ensuring the rooms affected were returned to the way they were prior to the water damage. Both Jon and Tom were very professional in the way they conducted themselves throughout - if they are assigned to work on your Charles Church house you can be assured the job will be done well.

Moved In A Year Ago

We bought our 4-bedroom detached house at Parklands Grove, Glan Llyn in Newport, Wales a year ago.It’s a lovely house in a great location, so why only a two-star review!Firstly, verbal promises that were made by the Sales Executives were not honoured, so make sure you get everything in writing.Secondly, our snagging list was reported at the one week and one month stage, and a year on it is nowhere near being completed. Issues that were raised at the Home Demonstration back in July 2023 still haven’t been done. The Site Team ‘vanished’ after a few weeks without even telling us. The reason being that this development had finished, although there was another development nearby.The problems we’ve had with contractors are too numerous to mention here. Some of the work done by them has been of such poor quality that it needs to be done again.There were carpentry and painting issues throughout the house, but apart from that, the house was well built. Had the snagging list been done in about 2-3 months, as you’d expect, then this could easily have been a 4- or 5-star review. But because of our experiences and the disruption we’ve had over the last year, plus the disruption that is still to come to complete the snagging list, we would NEVER buy a Charles Church / Persimmon house again and would certainly NOT recommend anyone buying one.

Mark attended site today, and he was very pleasant and managed to fix the minor issue with our door in minutes. Not only this he went above to level up our dishwasher, take waste away left under the cupboards by the installation team, and add extra clips to the base boards. My wife and I have had the most pleasant experience buying a house at Festival Park. As first time buyers, there was a lot we didn't know and a lot to learn, but this experience has been filled with excitement. A very big shout out to Briana from the sales team. She was amazing throughout the process. She provided answers to our never ending questions with so much diligence and patience. What was most amazing was how she would identify something that was missed or not done according to standard specifications (which we wouldn't have identified) and ensured it was corrected. Thank you so much Briana!! It was an absolute pleasure having you in this process.We have gradually settled in now, and so far, we are very pleased with our purchase. The site team has been fantastic. Snagging issues are addressed and the site team is always happy to help out how ever they can. Joe the site manager has been fantastic. What a gentle man he is. He is just one call or message away, and he is always ready to provide solutions to any issues.Our only worry at the moment is the dust and noise from the ongoing works around the site. It would be great If there was another road the construction vehicles could use to access the site.

Charles Church Durham were horrendous…

Charles Church Durham were horrendous to deal with, completely miss sold us our home, sketchy plans and constant changes without communicating these. Loads of standard features of the home missed. Site managers with no idea of what is standard in the homes they are building. Botched repairs done by contractors. Just don’t waste your time it’s not worth, you get the same low quality persimmon home with a different name on it, don’t bother save yourself hassle and go to a real builder.

I am very pleased with my house and I would like to thank Joe Wahba and his team for all their help in sorting some of the issues that I had when I first moved in. He is a very efficient man and always there to help. I did have issues with my electrical system however over the Christmas period and felt very let down by Persimmon. I called their emergency services number on many occasions during that time, and up till now I still haven’t heard from them. I had to call an emergency electrician to get things safe, and Persimmon didn’t even offer to pay the invoice. I feel that I was initially pressurised by the sales team to sell my house within 4 weeks, which was unnecessary as my house wasn’t ready for a further 4 months. It will be so nice living here once the building works are completed.

The experience with the team at the Harlands Park development was excellent from the reservation through to completion. Making the process simple to understand throughout and regular updates. Couldn’t fault the sales and site manager Fran and Steve. My improvement would be the recommend solicitors my personal opinion is they were unresponsive, unclear and caused many delays and complications to the process putting a real negative feel around purchasing our first home. I would never recommend Thrackray Williams solicitors to anyone.Thanks again for Charles Church team

Jubilee Gardens - Warminster (South West)

We have had an excellent experience buying at Jubilee Gardens - Warminster. Vicky from the sales team was excellent throughout the whole process. She was very patient with us, never pushy, and was also invaluable throughout the conveyancing period of the purchase in moving things along when things would slow or get stuck at a certain point.We used the Part Exchange Scheme and it was brilliant, offered a fair price on our property and unlike other developers got great incentives on our plot too. (Normal practice is Part Exchange results in no other incentives offered)We used the recommended solicitors and had an excellent experience with them too. They very much worked for us and challenged appropriately on anything needed.After moving in we got a snagging survey done as is common practice now for piece of mind. We already thought the build quality was great and this was confirmed by the snagging firm we used. Only minor snags and they have all been speedily rectified by another star Morgan the site manager. His communication has been amazing, quickly getting trades aligned to ensure as little disruption as possible. After spending months reading horror stories on the internet of new builds in general (not specifically Charles Church) we expected a fight to fix anything identified but we shouldn’t have worried. There was no arguing, if we we not happy with something the team worked until it was put right.We really got a sense of pride in their work from anyone we have interacted with in Charles Church/Persimmons.We have the Fibre Nest broadband (A Persimmons brand) which is an initial requirement on our development at least for 12 months, and the service on it has been excellent, and the set up made super simple so we were connected 5 minutes after getting the keys.Overall we would recommend our development and the Charles Church/ Persimmons team we have had the pleasure of dealing with.

Charles church wynyard has been amazing especially Liz who went above and beyond to accommodate us. Although we did not purchase in the end ( multiple reasons not related to CC including not finding school places for 2 kids at the schools of our choice)' we are hoping to come back before the end of the year as soon as school confirms they have space for our two kids and if there still have part ex option. The estate looks great and depending of the house choice and stage of build they can offer part ex which is ideal if you want to avoid chains and have a big family which is our case. We visited the Charles Church site in Tewkesbury and spoke to the rep Jodie.Jodie was very pleasant, respectful and knowledgeable. having visited another newbuild site previously where we were brushed off as we had not yet sold our own property, Jodie was lovely! she welcomed us, was able to tell us what was in our price range and give us a tour of the available plot. Jodie was very knowledgeable about everything to do with the construction, the various finishes, the later phases of the development and any offers or deals that could be made available to us.We are seriously considering purchasing one of these homes that seemed to be come with far more than other newbuild sites and the customer service was second to none.Jodie should have a raise or be employee of the month because she was everything a front of house employee should be: Polite, respectful, not pushy in any way but striking just the right balance of personal friendliness and corporate line. we look forward to going back

Sooo many issues...

Sooo many issues...First off the site team are all very friendly and are doing their best to solve the issues, but the quality of finishing is well below expectations, clearly rushed, as well as some more serious issues. There's the usual painting and cosmetic issues, but also failed damp proof membranes, mis-labelled switch's, exposed carpet, grippers, levels not to plan, visible plasterboard joints just about everywhere, rusty radiators etc.External is no better, chipped roof tiles, loose paving, wavey masonry, dented and chipped window / door frames and glass.This is not the full list and to be honest so far the house is perfectly habitable, which I know many new builds are not, but it's certainly not good.It would appear as though little care was taken during the build and review process, just to get the money in, now we are in with all our stuff I've no idea how they plan to rectify the issues...We shall see...

Reported an issue with Persimmons regarding my Rear Door which was rectified 3 times from the company who fit the Rear Doors and still wasnt fixed. Mark who works alongside Charles Church/Persimmons fixed the issue with no problems and even allowed us to try it out before he left and the door is now fixed! He even fitted a missing seal on our garage which we didnt notice. Thank you Mark!

Very pleased with the purchase of our new home in Festival Park Charles Church. Build quality was really good, very very few minor things during snagging and was easily rectified. Site manager Joe is fantastic, really helpful and was always available, always checks on us if we are enjoying our new home, which we are. Customer care was also excellent and was really easy to get hold of. Really good team and I would recommend it to others.
