To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to provide a review of my recent experience with Ms. Madi Doherty, Office Manager at the UPS Rental Division. While I have always had excellent interactions with her colleagues, Gemma and Lee, my experience with Madi this morning was so profoundly impressive that I felt compelled to take the time to acknowledge it.
I contacted the office this morning to speak with my usual contact, Lee, who was on holiday. Madi picked up the phone and, without hesitation, picked up the pieces. I explained that our heating system had stopped working completely, a critical issue given the temperatures were well below freezing. From the very first moment, Madi’s telephone manner was exceptionally good. She listened with focused attention, expressed genuine empathy for the situation, and left me with the strong, reassuring impression that my problems were her problems.
Her people skills and soft skills are, in a word, off-the-radar good. She displayed active listening, calm professionalism, and a sincere sense of urgency. Within one hour of our call, a fabulous tradesman was on-site. Just a couple of hours later, everything was working perfectly again. The speed and efficiency of the resolution, orchestrated by Madi during what was clearly an urgent situation, were nothing short of outstanding.
In a world where soft skills are too often becoming a lost art, Madi is a master. She embodies what customer service should be: human, empathetic, and powerfully effective. I don’t write reviews often, but when I do, it’s to acknowledge truly exceptional service. Madi deserves the highest praise.
Whoever is responsible for training or recruitment at your division, please take a bow. You have cultivated a team, Gemma, Lee, and now Madi that represents the absolute gold standard.
