Unfortunately, I’ve had a terrible experience with Slater Hogg in Bearsden recently. In particular the sales branch manager, Karen. I am not one to usually complain but the way she spoke to me was abhorrent. She told me I had not phoned and I was not promised a call back before closing when I indeed had. I had called several times as I kept being told she would phone. When challenged with evidence from call logs she quickly looked to blame her staff. Regardless of who was at fault, to deal with matters this way is both unprofessional and unacceptable. To make matters worse, I was then blamed for not answering my phone to her due to being a class committed teacher; which she knew because would phone me at break times or outwith the school day usually. Working in a customer based service, sometimes you get complaints but to be told that I was wrong for being unhappy with her service is quite frankly laughable. In future I would suggest you take any criticism on the chin, whether you agree or not. I will not be using, nor recommending anyone to use Slater Hogg in Bearsden. After mentioning this ordeal to a number of friends it appears this estate agency has a reputation for particularly unhelpful and rude service towards not only its customers but also prospective buyers. As a result, I will not be submitting an increased offer for a house who is currently on the market with them. I hope the sellers know that these company promoting their property is actively turning prospective buyers away with their bad attitude and disrespectful nature.

I would have no hesitation recommending the Bearsden team at Slater Hogg and the mortgage advisor and conveyancer they provided: from the respect and reassurance during the early stages of preparing for selling, to the insightful valuation and pricing advice, to the setting up of numerous showings and getting the best possible selling price to the guidance in making an offer on the house we successfully went on to buy and all the behind the scenes work that delivered everything they said they would and ON TIME! What could have been incredibly stressful was taken care of with professional, courteous efficiency.

The Bearsden team have been impeccable. Their valuation of the property was spot on as was their advice on how to approach its marketing. They took care of everything, from the survey to marketing, viewing and sale, with attention to every detail. They sent email updates on every viewing and telephoned to give me a detailed verbal report about their followup contact with viewers. Sometimes, it's worth going to the right place, to make something easier, smoother - and not have to worry about things. And this is exactly why I chose to sell my house through Slater Hogg. Selling my mother's house was always going to be a hard task emotionally, but throw in the distance from where I live, and the pandemic, and I knew this wasn't something that I would want to attempt on my own. From the initial phone call where I was just enquiring about the state of the market through to the final phone call a few weeks later to say the house had sold, the entire process was simple, friendly, efficient and always something I felt I had control of. A large part of my worry about handing the entire sale - including showing people around the house - to someone else is that I didn't want to be forced into making decisions that they wanted rather than I wanted. Fortunatley, the Bearsden branch of Slater Hogg have an approach that is incredibly friendly, warm and understanding of their client's situation. From calling into the office, to 'on-site' calls to the sales representative, I always knew what was happening. The marketing advice, when to put it on the market, even the state to leave the house in in order to attract the most viewings was absolutely spot on - and the house sold within a week of being on the market at the right price. I'm sure if I had done this on my own, it would have taken a much larger toll on my time and my concentration - so I'm very pleased that I made the decision not only to let an agent look after the sale, but more importantly, that I chose Slater Hogg to look after it for me. There's a cheap way, and there's a right way. I'm glad I chose the right way, the Slater Hogg way.
