Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the director Stacey at mark webster! We came to a deal with a house we fell in love with and Stacey went above and beyond to make sure we did not get the property. To put it into perspective, we started negotiations and we topped out at £450k. We was very honest and did not mislead anyone with our circumstances. Our offer got declined and after 24 hours we were contacted by Stacey on a Saturday morning to be told if we can do £452k the house is yours. We jumped at the opportunity. We let Stacey know it will take us a couple days to get our documents in order, which was no problem according to Stacey. Tuesday morning arrived and at around 10am we had a call from stacey to be told that she allowed another buyer to view the house and they made a better offer. This in my eyes is very poor behaviour as gazumping is not a really good way to deal with your customers. When I expressed my feelings, stacey spoke to myself and wife in such a unprofessional manner I was in disbelief! Her words were " maybe if you made a better offer you would be seen in a better light" when I said but you put the offer to us, she then went on to say " lets not go over old grounds, I am merely giving you criticism". As you can imagine i was speechless especially when the person speaking to you in this manner is the director of the company. We wanted the house so we used all our resources and raised our offer. Stacey said word for word " we have notified the owner and they are going to consider your offer, BUT i doubt you will get it". 😮 After 6days waiting for the owner to make the decision, stacey got in touch and was more than happy to tell us we was not successful and the owner has picked the other party. I cannot believe this is the kind of behaviour from a well known estate agents never mind the owner of the company speaking to us in such a way! Be careful owners and buyers, it seems if your face doesnt fit you wont get a look in. Regards Ben *replying to Stacey* Everything i stated is facts, once again please don't call me a liar. We cannot praise Mark and Stacey for how they supported us through the sale of our house. Everyone we dealt with were professional and provided clear advice on what steps needed to happen and when. In the end we chose to stay due to personal reasons, which they again fully understood. We would recommend their agency and if we want to move in the future, would we would use their agency again. I will drop some profiteroles in soon to thank you

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Their marketing ability is unrivalled both in terms of their reach and also the feel and quality of the listing, they were also spot on with valuation etc. The team are excellent and could not do enough for you to make the whole process as smooth as possible, we faced some unavoidable external challenges with our sale but the team helped expertly navigate us through. We are now in our dream home and not looking to move but if ever we did I would definitely not consider any other agents.

I used Mark Webster Estate Agents to buy and sell earlier in the year. As an experienced former estate agent myself, I know all too well the challenges faced in a busy office but I was very pleased with them on the whole. They were frequent with their communication; helpful, positive and friendly and you got the feeling that they were always working for you behind the scenes. The product offering was first class in terms of the marketing, photography, details and the like. I thought Stacey in particular was excellent in the front office, knowledgeable and efficient with a good attitude. I would have no issue using them again in the future or recommending their services to others. That's not to say my transaction went without a hitch as there were many obstacles to deal with along the way, most of which were unavoidable and caused by third party incompetence. I found the firm's approach good in so much as they demonstrated a can-do problem solving mindset which not only reassured me as a client, but ultimately helped get the move done.

I needed to sell my daughter's house after her death. This wasn't something I would ever have chosen to do and there were times when I felt completely overwhelmed. However Mark Webster's took a lot of the stress from me and managed everything so well.  All the staff were so helpful and supportive - especially as I live over 100 miles away. I'm very grateful to them and I'm sure my daughter would be pleased that a new family is enjoying the house she loved so much. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I've recently sold through Mark Websters. Very professional team, extremely experienced and just lovely genuine people. You have always done an excellent job and really appreciate everything you have done for me and my little family. I'd highly recommend Marks websters for all services. I've had numerous dealing over the past 15 years purchase, sales and more recently lettings due to a complication with onward purchase. The team have been very helpful and supportive. Jane in particular has been absolutely outstanding keeping a complex sale together. I'm new to dealing with lettings but Amanda McCalla and team also have been very helpful as we have found a rental. My Mum has used Websters for many years for the rental of her property local to the office. They have always given a high standard of service and have been very helpful. This year she sold the property and the staff were exceptionally heplful with the paperwork for my elderly Mum. I have been really disappointed with the service I received over a 12 month period. My boiler was not working and therefore, my upstairs bathroom was not pumping any hot water out at all, my shower downstairs fluctuated from hot to cold and I only got cold water out of all the taps. I notified them with this issue in January and it took them until October to fit a working boiler. Initially, they were quick to send an engineer out, who told Mark Webster that the boiler was broken and a new one needed to be fitted. During this period, I made several attempts to make them aware of the importance of this but too many excuses were made. There were a handful of times when I let them in with the management key to fit the boiler and then no work was carried out. As a key worker working continually through the pandemic, the lack of pro-activeness and consideration for my basic rights over a ten month period was inconvenient and frustrating. Eventually, I decided that leaving the property was my only resolution.NegativeProfessionalism

From the moment Mark came to my home to give the valuation and explanation of selling my property I knew I was in safe hands. The marketing of my property was excellent. They informed me everytime there was a viewing giving me names and times etc Once I had excepted an offer the sale was handed to Jane to oversee. Terrible from start to finish. Poor phone manner from several staff members. Tried forcing us to use their own financial advisor instead of our own mortgage broker (L&C) - to this aim, they were let’s say “liberal” with the truth in terms of other offers, the level of interest, and their communications with the seller. We called their bluff and proceeded with our mortgage broker and, surprise surprise, our offer was accepted by the seller contrary to the dire warnings from Mark Webster & Co. Unfortunately, our joy was to be short lived. Despite us asking repeatedly for the property to be removed from online advertisements, it wasn’t. (I know from personal experience that this is an incredibly easy task to perform, even when understaffed, so don’t try that excuse). Due to this, and dare I speculate, our decision not to use Mark Webster & Co.’s financial advisor, we were gazumped. I made clear my disappointment at the service we’d received over the phone and via email. Apparently, Mark Webster & Co. are a “family company with family morals”, but this was far from the company I saw. They passively promote consumer-harmful practises such as gazumping, are slow at responding, and explore any & all avenues to fatten their profit margins irrespective of ethics or good service. The one thing they do excel in is the loss of confidential files and emails.

Very rude staff in the Atherstone branch, I bought a house a couple of years ago and they were completely disinterested through the whole process, having to insist for them to return my calls and then being impolite and bad-mannered through the phone, which made the process incredibly frustrating. Update after reply from company almost two years after review: I bought a house from you! The fact that you have no recollection of that makes you look even more incompetent. I stand by my review, your Atherstone staff is rude and incompetent, you made my house buying experience a nightmare, so thank you very much and good bye.

Having spoken with a number of agents, the decision to sell the property through Mark Webster’s was a simple one; Mark was by some distance the most informed, personable and engaged agent I met and, whilst his valuation was not the highest, it was clearly the most reasonable and honest, factors that mattered a lot to me. Mark’s market knowledge was hugely impressive, and he managed to secure an above guide price cash-buyer within a very short space of time, negotiating and liaising between parties with transparency and decency throughout.
